A few weeks ago these puzzle play-sets popped up, but not a whole lot of information was available for them.
Apparently they are now being stocked at K-Mart, and it looks like the uber-rare blindbag Fluttershy that was selling for 200 bucks on ebay a while back is now a measly 5 bucks.
Each one comes with a simple cardboard version of their respective in-show locations, including Twilight's Library, Fluttershy's Cottage, and Sugar Cube Corner.
The actual puzzle aspect is just the outside floor area, which I'm sure you can dig up from looking at the images found after the break!
Thanks to Caroline for the pics/infos!

>Finally get internal plans to pony houses
ReplyDeleteNice.
I CALL FLUTTERSHY!
ReplyDeletemight pick up one or two of these, if i see em
ReplyDeleteI see only half the mane 6. this displeases me
ReplyDeleteFluttershy!!!
ReplyDeleteMy eyes are watery at getting her for $5
That molded fluttershy is terrible, it's an exact copy of rainbow dash... it doesn't do her justice...
ReplyDelete... I will buy these so hard...
ReplyDeleteI mean, I'm still upset Fluttershy doesn't have her own proper sculpt, but still, FLUTTERSHY!
That's the Fluttershy from the blind bag series. It makes me wonder if there'll be an episode where Fluttershy gets a haircut in Season 2...
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS WHY WE CAN HAVE NICE THINGS
ReplyDeleteMust feel pretty bad if you bought one for $200.
ReplyDeleteThat molded Fluttershy is still just a recolor of Dash, gosh dangit. I want a proper Fluttershy with her long hair, Hasbro!
ReplyDelete*keeps waiting for better merch*
Floorplans for pony RPGing! Sweet. And a weird yellow miniature of Rainbow. Not so sweet.
ReplyDeleteLooks like I'll be heading to K-Mart soon...
ReplyDeleteAt least her hair is pink...
ReplyDeleteI wish these would come to holland already...
My goodness, are there any K-Marts still in town? I vaguely a ton of them shutting down a while ago...
ReplyDelete(runs to Google)
Whew! Still two left! Time for a road trip!
Cute. I'm gonna have to look into it.
ReplyDeleteIf there isnt a rainbow dash Im gonna start punting babies......
ReplyDeleteI just might buy one of these...
ReplyDeleteEspecially that Fluttershy one :3
Want...Fluttershy...
ReplyDelete(On the other hoof, K-Mart will be so surprised to find their new best selling item is a pony.)
FLUTTERSHY!!!!!!!!
Can't wait to see Rainbow Dash's house in the clouds
ReplyDeleteLooks nothing like fluttershy!
ReplyDeleteBummed that Fluttershy isn't proper Fluttershy. But I may try to get Pinkie Pie.
ReplyDeleteMAKE A PROPER FLUTTERSHY!
I WANT TWILIGHT!!!!!!!1
ReplyDeleteThose are... pretty neat! I can totally see my younger-self really loving these little playsets. Well, if my younger-self had liked My Little Pony.
ReplyDeleteToo bad I don't think there's a K-Mart anywhere near me. XP
you had me at Puzzle
ReplyDeleteLooks like we're getting gradually closer to genuinely show-related merchandise.
ReplyDeleteJust gotta give it that last push.
Noooooo! I don't have a nearby Kmart!
ReplyDeletePony or not, that is some clever use of packaging
ReplyDeleteThe amount of pony stuff that turns up on E-bay or other online sites months before they are found in shops makes me wonder sometimes. I'm pretty new to the whole toy fandom side of things, but is that normal for things like this? I always though things turned up online at the same time as the retail release.
ReplyDeleteEven though the Fluttershy is using the same mold as RD is, I still love her. :) Though a Fluttershy with the proper hair would be nice too.
ReplyDeleteThis post is brought ta you by thuh letter 'P'.
ReplyDelete@Firleycat
ReplyDeleteWell, some retailers get some items before other retailers do. And even some private sellers have ties to get limited supply's of goods before anyone else does. Which is why you may see someone with a certain item before it's even technically released.
I'll have to tell everyone at the store "THIS IS FOR MY LITTLE SISTER, SHE LOVES MY LITTLE PONY. HAHA!" *dart eyes nervously around room*
ReplyDeleteNeeeeeeeeeeed!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I live in the heart of the Great North-Central California No Pony Vortex. Seriously, there are no ponies here. There are never any ponies here. You know that Canterlot thing with Target? Yeah, my local Target not only does not have a Canterlot display it also has ZERO FiM merchandise. Seriously. In late July it had a couple of the standard brushable ponies. Couple days ago, not a single pony toy. Not even a section or any empty pegs, just no ponies.
It's the same with Wal-Mart no ponies last I checked, Toys R Us a few standard brushables and I think they had Twilight's balloon, K-Mart no ponies, Big Lots no ponies. So, sadly, I don't have much hope of seeing these show up either.
Literally, the two ponies I have are a standard brushable Rarity and a blind bag Twilight I had to have shipped to me from Canada.
I don't know why central northern California never gets any ponies but I wish it would stop.
Well I guess I'll be stopping by K-Mart tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteFinally, Fluttershy will be mine! MINE! MUHAHAHAHAHA!
ReplyDelete@Calnos
ReplyDelete...or maybe an episode where Princess Celestia's coat gets painted pink in Season 2.
hmm lol, Zellers in canada was carrying the blindbag mane 6 for 2.99 individual blister packs... good to know XD
ReplyDeleteFluttershy?
ReplyDelete...To K-Mart!
The awkward moment when your old student teacher is the person at the cash register... WHILE YOUR BUYING PONIES D: D: D: Seriously... It happened.
ReplyDeleteGUYS, GUYS, GUUUYYS!
ReplyDeleteTHAT is NO Fluttershy.
It's filly Celestia.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteSis was never yellow...
My KMart hasn't a single stitch of Pony merch.
ReplyDeleteDamn you, small town.
Hey fellow bronies!
ReplyDeleteI have a... very outdated question to, well primarily to hungarian bronies which is: where can I by blind bag ponies in Hungary?
I tried a few local toy stores in my town but all of them are sold out...
I would really appreciate any kind of help...
Collect them all!!
ReplyDelete(Each sold seperatly)
That one got me ROFLing hard!
thats not fluttershy thats rainbow dash with a dye job.. jeez hasbro cant you at least TRY to please the fans? ya make more money if ya werent so lazy
ReplyDeleteDarn, the only K-mart within a 20 mile radius of me closed down last year. Good thing we have the internet. I wonder, couldn't a 3D printer be used to make a more accurate mold of the cast then what Hasbro is selling?
ReplyDeleteholy shit the ponies in those cardboard houses actually look very similar to the show!
ReplyDeleteI don't care about all that puzzle crap, gimme realistic G4 pony
Me gusta Casita
ReplyDeleteNow these I might actually buy. Realistic G4 ponies ftw.
ReplyDeleteSomeone must now make a pony wargame.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't they stell this stuff in Germany. :(
ReplyDeleteJust got back from one of two K-marts I live near and the first one didn't have any. oh well tomorrows another day.
ReplyDeleteMy 4 year old cousin has that Fluttershy :O I got to hold it :3
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteYou just gave me a brilliant idea!
How do we six star this? Fluttershy Blind Bag in America!1!!!11eleven!!
ReplyDelete/)^ɛ^(\
.....Dumb recolor...D8 WHY? It's not right!
ReplyDeleteBronies, you're my only hope...we don't have KMART in Texas. At all. Someone has to get me these! ALL OF THEM.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that really bothers me is that I have never seen a rectangular tree...
ReplyDeletea pony sculpt for whoever can get me a set of these *no kmarts in texas...*
ReplyDeleteI love how instead of giving the most wanted and beloved character her own mold to look like her adorable self, they use the same mold as another pony who looks vastly different. HASBRO Y U NO MAKE GOOD PONY TOYS?
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty neat. A whole little playset for $5 is buckin' awesome! :D
ReplyDeleteI live 5 minutes from a Kmart...
ReplyDelete/ Fluttersquee
MLP needs to be owned by Mattel.
ReplyDeleteFLUTTERDASH!! I smell a fanfic. ^__^
ReplyDeleteNobody who notes that the doors are all wrong? Nopony in the show has swinging doors like that except for the royal palace.
ReplyDeleteAll houses in Ponyville have two-part stable doors, which adds to the charm of the show!
Also, in Ponyville, houses are made from wood, stone, and thatch, but most definitely NOT cardboard.
ReplyDeleteI have GOT to learn the tricks of the trade for mold making from my friend with the injection molding machine that he uses for his fishing lure business. While not having an 18 foot long injection molding machine would hamper my ability to do anything resembling large scales, I bet it'd certainly be possible to do small scale casting run using homemade stuff... My boss from my manufacturing job just picked up mold release for one of his products... I should find out what it cost him and order some myself. PVC pellets are readily available in bulk as well... I have got to look into this! The hard part isn't making the toy though, it's making the freaking molds! Once you HAVE a mold, it's EASY to pump out castings. You have to start by making a PERFECT form of the toy you desire, create a first stage mold of it, then you have to either accept that if you use that mold, it won't last long, or take it to the next step of making a more resilient casting, and making a second mold from the new casting out of yet more resilient material.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to make like Twilight and read a book or something... That or Google.
Confound this lack of good toys. It drives me to bring manufacturing back to the United States!
I just got one of each last night. K-mart only had three (1 of each) so they seem to go quick. Get them ASAP. Also, each one comes with a puzzle that connects with the others so you can make a part of the town.
ReplyDeleteConfound my small town K-mart. Only 5 minutes away, but no trace of these!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have a UPC number or in store code to represent these? I will request them directly at my local store, if I can get those codes, and see if the store can have one shipped to them, if possible.
I'm at the K-Mart in north Seattle right now - found them! (last three though, sorry). They're not with the toys, they're in with the puzzles.
ReplyDeleteBeen to three Kmarts, searched the hay out of the puzzle and toy area, did not find even a label placement for them. Anypony in SoCal have any luck?
ReplyDeleteFinding them is only the first step in this puzzle!
ReplyDeleteAnyone know store inventory codes for these yet?
with all these comments on how shitty Fluttershy looks apparently we have a lot of "summerf[illie]s" on our hooves... :/
ReplyDeleteFYI: when casting these molds the fluttershy mold had a lot of problems with the hair they tried to remold her a few more times before releasing them to public, as we may or may not know most relases have a due date predetermined way ahead of time so people are sinking money into this release making room on their shelves rearranging and resetting shelves for these products. so as are the following business choices:
a.)lose money/trust from investors, marketers, and retailers by holding back line to make the character "perfect"?
b.)use a mold of a character with similar features and just recolor still meeting the date.
obvious choice.
Demographics say children will still recognize familiar colors and associate it to that character. as long as they are similar in feature what it is trying to represent, REMEMBER THESE ARE MARKETED TO CHILDREN, NO TO GROWN ADULTS who are more knit picky and snobbish about details.
tl;dr
dont get all huffy about a shitty Fluttershy and be glad there is one let alone one at a relatively economical cost. :)
@Flame Tempest
ReplyDeleteOC brony reporting, none here :/ what part of socal are you at?
I can't find these anywhere, not at the kmart website and not at any of the kmarts within driving distance. :c Anybody know where I could order one?
ReplyDeleteThey only show up online on the German version of Amazon and I think they might be scheduled to be available in October.
ReplyDeleteAlso don't know if international shipping is an option or not. I sorta kinda don't speak Deutsch.
Doesn't give much for answers to us who have or have not found them in the states...
I still want Applejack pasta! :(
Hasbro, the schizophrenic of international marketing! Send Pasta to the UK, but NO TOYS TILL AUGUST. Send ALL the Blind bag Fluttershy's to Germany and surrounding EU states. Lets release ponyville 4 pack tube in such limited numbers that people go crazy looking for them! Charge $40 for a cardboard Canterlot with TWO PONIES. Make a Littlest Pet Shop Castle play set made of PLASTIC... Charge $40!
Hasbro, take MEDS!!!

Translated, they say they will be available on Oct 10th 2011.
That doesn't help us in the US though, since they have obviously already hit shelves in the sporadic and limited fashion that Hasbro seems to love applying to their products.
Duh... All are the same link... Oops. The three images of each of the three different sets are all on the same page. Looks like they haven't differentiated the three products yet.
ReplyDeleteJust got my Fluttershy!
ReplyDelete@DoubleMallow
ReplyDeleteIt's Fluttershy after she visited the CMC hairdressers.
