I love Chrome. It's so much more stable than Firefox these days. That said, I do often have both running at once. Chrome houses my email box and Gtalk and things like that so when Firefox crashes I'm not out of the loop. It's a nice system.
Two ponies by the names of GrendoPony and Julien12826 write to tell us of some pony Chrome themes they've cooked up. The entire set of the mane six's can be found here, and Julien would also like to let you guys know that he's working on a Scootaloo theme, which can also presumably be found at the same link when they're finished with it.

ReplyDeleteEh, I still prefer FF to Chrome. Though I sometimes use Chrome if FF is giving me trouble. I have some type of pony theme in Chrome, but I can't even remember who or what it is. lol These themes are nice though, it might actually be one of these I have currently in use on Chrome.

Dam, I've been resisting the urge to have a Pony desktop image and converting my icons but seeing this has broken my resistance. my chrome will be pony now.

I use all browsers, and on my Chrome I have been using a Chrome Applejack theme for quite some time.

ReplyDeleteWoah, transitioning from my bright-red Bayonetta theme to the Rarity one is jarring. Everything is so much... Lighter. And cooler. I love how the diamonds bleed into the first tab, though.

I'm kind of embarrased to say it but I didn't know that Google Chrome was a web browser for nearly 8 months. I kept thinking it was some sort of firewall software that Firefox kept insisting that I use. It wasn't until I was using a friend's laptop with only Google Chrome installed did I find out what it was. I just use Rockmelt for my browser needs. Its better than Firefox. I should try Chrome, just so I can use these themes at least once.

ReplyDeleteFF 7.0 (Aurora) hasn't crashed once for me.
I used to have FireFox, but I never updated due to the horrible interface of the new version... And the memory leaks were horrible, Chrome is a lot better in my opinion, and I can't believe I used to say FF was better... Anyway, I have the best pony's theme: Nightmare Moon!

ReplyDeleteI just downloaded the Rarity theme and my god, it's beautiful! Kudos to the bronies who created these!
ReplyDeleteIf you feel slightly adventurous, try the Aurora (a.k.a. alpha) release of Firefox 7. It's stable for me, and it includes tons of work to reduce memory fragmentation. Memory and CPU usage are way down. NoScript and Adblock Plus both work just fine, but YMMV if you must have all of your extensions (which can be another source of memory problems, but I digress).
ReplyDeleteSeriously, DO IT. You'll thank yourself. You'll also be helping Mozilla out by watching out for weird bugs. I have only had one crash (which I could not replicate) out of nearly a week of continuous use, so I consider it stable enough for me.

ReplyDelete@Niko Jims What's so annoying about the watermark? It's either that or a slightly smaller Google Chrome logo with the word 'chrome' next to it. I honestly rather have a pony with 'PonyThemes' in front of it and actually fits the color scheme, than that.
