  • Comics: Batcolt/Animation is Magic

    by Phoe

So, comic time. This batch is a bit... eclectic. To start us off, Blimpslap is here to show us a little bit about what it means to be a hero in Equestria. You might think it's all Elements of Hamony and necklaces you only wear once a season (watch it happen, ponies!), but you would be wrong. There's much, much more, a sort of deep search for inner meaning that's sure to take your breath away.

And once you're finished with that, have this lovely offering that I have been lead to believe comes to us from a Friendship is Magic animator, but I have zero sources on this so please don't take my word is law. Regardless of where this thing comes from, I have to imagine it's absolutely the truth of what goes on at Studio B. Someday I'm going to sneak in there and find out!

The source was actually not Studio B! You can find it under the image.

Bit of an error on the first one. .png.jpg Both great comics though, that second one is far too true.

Delete the .jpg off the end of the DA url it sends you to. For some reason the link is .png.jpg instead of .png

I firmly support Batmare over Batcolt. It just sounds better. But I think I saw someone say 'Batmane' above? That could work :3 and it's gender neutral.

Speaking of super heroes, I made old school DareDevil earlier this week!

XD and I love the 2nd one. That's what almost everyone is going to think at some point in this fandom.

Anyone else picturing the Batmobile playing the 8 bit version of the theme tune as it drives by? That should strike fear into the hearts of criminals.

I always though every animator would have that realization at some point. I remember seeing a documentary about the making of Bambi and one scene had a group of animators sketching a live deer. I always wondered if one of them just stopped for a moment and wondered "What have I gotten myself into?" I'm glad that so many work past it and do awesome work, but It must be a hard moment to deal with when it comes.
