I do, however, know that you are unnecessarily rude and contrary, and I agree with the anonymous that the quality of your trolling of this blog's fanfiction has gone down significantly. It used to be an endearing kind of annoying, pointing out clichés that didn't really exist. Now, you are just being degenerately malevolent, without any of the redeeming qualities of poking fun at tropes. In short, you are violating the spirit of kindness and tolerance that we try to foster around here. That was cute, though I've always thought that Rainbow Dash's rainbow mane was needed for the Rainboom, and that was a major reason for why it was so rare.

ReplyDeleteIf anything my first comment was less trolling and more a genuine request. Seriously, I'd probably fucking read that fanfic, and I'd blast D-Beat music in the background, and so the atmosphere would be complete.

ReplyDeleteI dunno on the actual story though. Most of the elements (RD teaching Scoots to Fly; Scoots doing her own version of the Sonic Rainboom; the cycle the starts with the pair) have been done in other fics and this ends up feeling like several of them in condensed form...It's not bad...just nothing that feels unique.
I think this well may very well be running dry.
Maybe the tag should be "Sappy"?

You should join #EquestrianStudy on IRC. It has several big name writers in there and a lot of people who are more than willing to proofread fics.

4/5 stars, could have easily been 5/5 with some editting and prereading.
Short, sweet. Glad to read a Scootaloo flying fic that doesn't involve Rainbow being dead for once :)

ReplyDeleteIt was a simple story that was very short, but it had a lot of heart. Very cute. There could have been more technical polish, but for what it was it was very good.
And the picture -- it's Scootaloo, showing off her costume for the school play in "Past Sins"!

ReplyDeleteCommon plot, seen it done better. This reads like a laundry list and there's absolutely no tension at all; it's obvious she's going to succeed. I got nothing out of this.

ReplyDeleteWhat's actually sad is that almost every element in this particular fic was virtually stolen from another fanfic... Beat for beat in fact. It was the last fifth or so of the fanfic "Rainbows and Sunsets" which did exactly the same thing, only was much longer and better put together.

ReplyDelete1) It was literally describing what RD in the sonic rainboom episode, with some flashbacks
2) Grammatical errors.
3) Too short... I mean, isn't there a minimum length for EQD?
