*UPDATE* Apparently it is an old link! Sorry! I kind of figured it was, but just thought I'd toss it up.
Jayson did say Fall, which is totally not December, so hopefully we can roll with that instead!
Anyway back to reading about all the objects/creatures/ponies Rainbow Dash can ship with while we wait.
Note: Completion Date does not = When Season 2 Starts!

ReplyDeleteInb4 Brony Spasms
ReplyDeleteNo ponies untill december? NOOOOOOOOOO
ReplyDelete@Ikusa GT
ReplyDeleteUr too late :D
Wait, is S2 entirely made by Topdraw? :/
ReplyDeleteNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell that sucks. :/
ReplyDeleteim going into hibernation until december. brb
ReplyDeleteStill, We might get ponies earlier. No reason to not delay the release date just because the completion date is in December.
ReplyDeleteMy B-day is on December 10th...It would make my life complete if that's when the first episode of the second season comes out...
ReplyDeleteAaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhghhhhhhhh. My pain and panic is equivalent to Twilight finding out Celestia is disappointed in her!
ReplyDeleteOh, and: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHv9acm3fF0&feature=related
ReplyDeleteThat's not how you spell 'guaranteed' Seth
ReplyDeleteIt could just be like what Gamestop does where they automatically list release dates for things they don't know for sure about as being December 31st.
ReplyDeleteBesides, there are still the two episodes they produced while they were working on Season 1.
Awesome, can't wait though!
ReplyDeleteUGHH ur right- it will be hell D:
ReplyDeleteD-D-Decmber??? That sucks...
ReplyDeleteI hope they release it before they are done with the entire season.
Well, sounds like I need to stock up on more pony inhalers.
ReplyDeletespikenoo.avi
ReplyDeleteSo much for my guess season 2 would start after Labor Day.
ReplyDeleteThe horror! THE HORROR!
ReplyDeleteDon't animated seasons usually go on air prior to completion of the last episodes? I mean it sounds like episode one at least is already done.
ReplyDeleteSeth, this is a VERY old news. VERY OLD.
ReplyDeletebesides, jayson said directly: probably "this fall" which does not include december.
Srsly, wth. Why reposting old news.
Isn't this pretty old news? I remember seeing this image from way back when we first learned that work on season 2 was to begin in April, and most people had determined that December was the date for the *whole* season to be completed, not for the episodes to start being released.
ReplyDeleteI love it when stuff is garunteed. But seriously, it's a bit unfortunate that it takes so long but maybe they won't have a winter stop that most shows have.
ReplyDeleteI'll live I joined a fanfiction writing training ground at deviantart for this very reason for this reason.
ReplyDeletePlus there's youtube and nostalgia visitations, other people writing fanfiction and this freaking community itself almost moves faster than I can manage to keep up with.
@Kein
ReplyDeleteFall ends on Dec 21st...
NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
ReplyDeleteDear Santa Claus
ReplyDeleteI DONT WANT TO GET THE NEXT SEASON FROM YOU!!!!!!!
I wanna get it earlier.
Thanks, your Anon
December is the completion date, not the air date. When the first episode of the season airs, they're usually still working on the latter episodes of the season.
ReplyDeleteFrom a production standpoint, season one wasn't "complete" until last January or February thereabouts, but the show was in the process of airing.
Doctor Who *and* ponies in the same month? Yeah its a long wait but
ReplyDeleteWOOOOO
Hey, at least we know now that it will be between october and december.
ReplyDeleteGuess I'll have to start rewatching the episodes once again.
Wow... you're a bit slow on this uptake, It's been on that site for a good month...
ReplyDeleteMaybe it'll come out on Winter Solstice.
ReplyDeleteThe Night Shall last FOREVER!!!
I think Seth is officially losing his mind. Don't turn into Cave Johnson! We need a sane leader for our brony blog!
ReplyDeleteLong month's of winter sadness...
ReplyDeletewaiting through holidays.
To get my little pony fix,
from season 2 someday.
But the pics we've stored will not run out,
and the fics we have will grow.
And I will always love this show,
I'd wait until I'm old.
We'll make it through thanks to this site! I'm a bit sad, but we've got more than enough going on to keep up excited.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteSo what? Who says "this fall" when it is almost a winter?
Dec 2011 was in that graph for a 2 (!) months. Within those two months jayson answered the question.
Why so neighslayering now lol.
Six months of pony absense
ReplyDeleteBut awesome brony shouts~
[too lazy to continue]
at first i was like YES YES YES YES YES YES YES then i found out its not Untill December at the latest. i need more fan stuff if i gotta wait another 5 months give or take a couple weeks
ReplyDeleteThis is indeed how the industry works.
ReplyDeleteIt's worse than you think, however. ANIMATION is scheduled to be completed in December, but after that they still need to finalize sound, music, and the final mix in Post Production. That alone could take up another few months.
This is old news indeed...
ReplyDeleteBut something still has me eluded from that very day...Some people say that they made 2 episodes for Season 2 while Season 1 was still airing and there was no confirmation for season 2
But then Jayson pops up and says they completed the first episode for season 2...
or he was saying that was Epiosde NR.1? so no connection with the 2 episodes which they made before this one?
Now...if those 2 episodes really do exist, and where before season 2 even got the green lit for starting on it...
Then that means that those 2 episodes might be reserved for Mid Summer, so they could release those 2 possibly on July 27TH
So season 2 is going to be as slow as Christmas...on the other hoof, that makes for a nice Christmas gift. If only I weren't so impatient already. Where's a time machine when you need one? Still, those are 5 months Im looking forward to.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous 4:16
ReplyDeleteDoctor Who comes back in September...
Am I the only who never expected it to be earlier than December? Heck, I've been confident for all this time that Season 2 would air during the first week of 2012.
ReplyDeleteI want it earlier... but we have Equestria Daily.
ReplyDeleteDe..de..december ? But I can barely live without my fix of fresh pony espisodes until october ! Noooooooooo
ReplyDeleteBut since this is just speculation we are going to see who's right in october or else
BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't think they'll wait that long (December) to start releasing episodes.
ReplyDeleteIf you think back to Jayson's interview, he said that they work on multiple episodes at the same time, and that episode 1 of season 1 wasn't completed until long after it was started. Knowing that they have a couple of season 2 episodes done already leads me to believe that they've put in a significant amount of time into the other episodes as well. Even if they aren't totally done with every episode until December, I think we're looking at a late October release date for Ep 1.
December...
ReplyDeleteWelp.
Or I might be wrong and it could start airing in late December/early 2012..... I'd actually be okay with that.
ReplyDeletePah I have plenty of pony to sample before then
ReplyDeleteEARLIER WHY MUST YOU MAKE US WAIT SO LONGGG
ReplyDeleteIf people read some of the QA @ http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/07/interview-jayson-thiessen-friendship-is.html you can read he says something about a cascading episode creation effect that they had to go through.
ReplyDeleteThis must be a slow day for news, we've known about that completion date for months. Way to put a unnecessary damper on things.
ReplyDeleteForgive me if I'm a bit behind the times, but why do I keep seeing this July 27th date popping up everywhere? What is the significance?
ReplyDeleteNO PONIES TIL DECEMBER!!!????
ReplyDeleteBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Rofl...this is exactly like that one time back in 2007 when those gaming sites thought they know the release date for Starcraft 2, which actually ended up being July 2010
ReplyDeleteExcept that for the Ponies we'll be getting them way earlier
I;m sure that page had the same air dates when it first surfaced a couple of months back. And I agree with Kein that Jaysson Thiessen probably wouldn't have said fall if he meant late December.
ReplyDeleteDude's in Canada, I'm sure the distinction between autumn and winter's a pretty big deal there.
Here is the goddamn two months old screenshot:
ReplyDeletehttp://i.imgur.com/WbIhb.png
Seriosuly, wtf Seth? >_> WHy are we going on circles.
@Fallin' Winter
ReplyDeleteYou made my day xD
I'm not too worried. It will just be that much sweeter when it does come out.
ReplyDeleteLISTEN! I WAS THE ONE WHO SHARED THESE NEWS WITH THE ADMIN!
ReplyDeleteIt's not his fault these are old news. I'm a new brony, and everyone else was completely clueless of the completion date of MLP FIM SEASON 2!
Don't be such douchebags to the guy due to my mistake. Flame ME!
I understand these are old news, but I recently discovered them and assumed they were new.
Most bronies didn't take their time and patience to look up the details on the home development site, so I did it for them and I did the brony community a big favor. Now quit flaming the admin for my mistake!
Damn it bro, this friendship tree needs magic!
Honestly, at the rate its going. I think we could just take this fandom and run with it forever without any new content at all. Even if it does take that long for season two; I'm not concerned.

ReplyDelete@helldiver450
ReplyDeleteWe were not clueless about the completion date, we were clueless about when Season 2 would start. You could of done a simple search on the site to find out if this had been posted before. You didn't do that, and you did us disservice by not doing proper research.
Guys, go easy. Seth busts his ass getting you all kinds of news.
ReplyDeleteI wouls also ask you to...y know, learn to forgive tiny, insignificant mistakes. People make them all the time.
Why is it that nobody seems to be able to wait anymore nowadays? Do you remember back then when people couldn't wait to get the Harry-Potter-books and them standing in line in the middle of the night, even though they even PRE-ORDERED their stuff? Will you do the same when the DVD/Blue-ray release will start?
ReplyDeletePatience is a virtue. And I don't care for when season 2 will start airing... Anticipation can be a really joyful bless as well. I'm looking forward to see the first episode of season 2 with a few fellow bronies... that is if you guys pony up and stop acting like lil' kids because the news are "old". And even if it was done by a mistake... they are forgiven. Period.
And fund it:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/03/mlpfim-season-2-has-24-episodes.html
http://twitter.com/goldenrusset/statuses/66928916916486144
Show will air long before all the episodes are finished; stop panicking and use your brains.
ReplyDeleteWho's a silly pony? You're a silly pony!
ReplyDeleteWho is? You is! Sethisto!
@BagOfChips
ReplyDeleteI was about to say that, when did the season need to be 100% complete before you can start airing the episodes?
@James
ReplyDeletePfft
As a gamer for most of my life I'm quite familiar with waiting for things. Heck I waited 9 years for Dragon Quest to return to the US after the NES died.
@Star Gazer
ReplyDeleteI guess around the same time this "news" needed to be reposted, lol
@Fallin' Winter+1 internets
ReplyDelete24 episodes?
ReplyDeleteSpike: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Actually, winter starts on December 22, so December technically IS fall.
ReplyDeleteWhen they say completion date they mean they'll be finished working on the episodes by then. It doesn't mean they aren't already finished with beginning of the season.
ReplyDeleteWake me up when November ends. I know that's not how the song goes, but whatever.
ReplyDelete@Fallin' Winter
ReplyDeleteThat was both hilarious and heartwarming =3
So. Just have to survive 'till Nov. 11. Then, I can stay in my room with Skyrim, wait for the next season and emerge as a beautiful Fluttershy!
ReplyDelete...Oh, God. It's going to take FOOOOOOREEEEVEEER. :|
Season 2 has 26 episodes.
ReplyDeleteTwo were finished along with Season 1.
This is why the top draw website only lists 24 to be made.
Completion date and airing date are two different things. Think about it you morons: if they had finished all of season 1 before they began to air it then how the flying fuck would they have been able to implement fan elements like Derpy? My fucking gosh you guys are fucking dumb.
ReplyDeleteAck. No, Jayson Thiessen said it probably be airing sometime in the fall. There is absolutely no reason to wait until all the episodes are finished before airing them.
ReplyDeleteSeason 1 was still in production when the season started, and so will Season 2. I am pretty darned sure that the season will actually start airing in October.
(Great, now I have to correct people all over again... XP)
...goddammit, my birthday is in december (on the 10th). That would have been a great 16th birthday present 8|
ReplyDeleteThat's cool, I can totally wait till December.
ReplyDelete@ElectricZoNe If you wait 'til December you're going to wind up like ten episodes behind the rest of us, though.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the picture, I was like D:
ReplyDeleteThen I saw the update comment, I was like :D
Seriously guys, a couple of months is no big deal. We have plently of fanfics and stuff to do before then.
@Smashing Good Time
ReplyDeleteMLP is like drugs, you want more now... But, yeah, the wait has to be worth it...
ok...confused here is it gonna air in 2011 or 2012? if 2011, when?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteFall of 2011, according to Jayson Thiessen. If the first season is anything to go by, it'll probably be October.
