ReplyDeleteTHIS is why there should be a vetting process similar to the fanfics for PMVs and music. This song is beyond-words, incredamazing, ponyized awesomeness. It shows skills in editing, lyrics, and overall creativity.
...but I fear it will be majorly overlooked, because of the often sub-par quality of PMVs and music for some time now (with many notable exceptions, of course).
Even I don't watch or listen to them all, and I used to...this one caught my eye because it had its own post, and that attention was well deserved!!!
In the same way that you brought on highly ranked authors as pre-readers, could you ask PMV/music bronies with at least two 10K+ viewed videos to be "pre-viewers" to confirm a video is EqD spotlight worthy???

Yes, their are groups and persons we should be alienating ourselves from (Hardcore furries/Rabid Sonic fans come to mind), but this is very, VERY tongue in cheek, and the guy preforming this is rather talented. It's a fun, funny song- jeez, for the few of you condemning this- This site has done much, MUCH worse.

Maybe not the "two >10k views" thing, but there should be some screening process. I'd go for something based on the ratings on here, if that's possible (I know a lot of videos got posted in groups of three, with different authors for each). But ideally maybe only people who have had at least one "Star-6" video, assuming that would be a large enough group. And also assuming that there can be Star-6 videos, because I'm pretty sure right now that only applies to fanfics.

A lot of pony videos use sound effects that aren't quite appropriate, and it detracts from the quality. But this guy... He used ones that were COMPLETELY appropriate, and then he altered the audio to fit with the tone of the song.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Unintelligentgenius, why the idea may seem a little overboard, it's an awesome bucking cover. A lot of talent was shown, and I really enjoyed it. I smiled broadly for sure. Shush you neigh-sayers, the music is enjoyable. I would love to see more pony themed music like this . . . maybe a different subject, but more all the same. Who cares what the song was about, enjoy the hard work this brony has put into it. Just enjoy the fruits . . . Uhhh results.

This is quite amusing, but mostly I'm just impressed at the quality of it. Brony must either have professional-level equipment or be some kind of wizard with audio editing. Or both. Not to mention that he can actually rap really well.

Vocals were recorded with a Studio Projects B1 condenser mic running through the M-Audio Fast Track USB II audio interface. Mixed in Adobe Audition, and Audacity was used to rip the audio from the episodes.

It was 1am and people were asleep in the house when I recorded that, so that's why I sound like I'm whispering Dx
Anyway, I'm glad you liked it! And thanks to everyone for the compliments. I knew that if I made this, there would be people who'd find this sort of nasty, to say the least. But after seeing someone on Ponychan post an MLPFiM parody of part of the first verse, I knew I had to expand on it. I wrote this with no bad intentions, this was written purely for laughs :)
Oh, and I forgot to mention where I recorded it: A walk-in closet full of clothes makes a great dry recording environment! Just make sure to get a fan in there to get the stale air out when you're not recording; you don't want your clothes to smell, lol.
ReplyDeleteConsidering this is a parody of "Baby got Back" I believe that perhaps it should of been done as "Filly got Flank" but that is about the only issue I have with it. Thank you for bringing this bit of brightness into what has been a sad time of fanfics. Need some joyful stories. Confound these authors, they make Luna cry.

I personaly don't really want to bring my sexual desires to this show, so I stay away from rule 34 pics and clop fics, but if someone wants to look/read it I don't bash them. It's a normal, if not odd, progression of a fandom. (Side note: ButterscotchSundae is a BRILLIANT writer. I haven't read her full on clop-fics, but the "Racy but not too racy" fics are VERY
funny/well written.)
