@StreaktheFox: Technically, it's still FF4 for America. It was only released as FF2 once out of the five times it's been locallized.

Space Odyssey reference for the win. Awr, poor Luna. I wonder if there is any lasting trauma or if it went away with Nightmare Moon. I vote she needs a hug regardless.
#2: If this is a reference to "The Rainbow Zebra" then be told-I grew up on that book. My grandmother made a plushie of the rainbow zebra. I loved that thing. Well done.
Also I would just love to see Rarity's reaction to This!

First comic: Oh, I wish I could remember where all those references. Lets see, Astronaut, Final Fantasy (I didn't recall them going to the moon). Last little emblem I know I've seen somewhere before.

Though I guess I could have had much worse brainfart.
Nothing wrong in drawing something so awesome, I think.
Even if her mane colour is not splashed with untimely pink.
Giving an excuse to rhyme can't be that bad either,
given that it at least makes me think before I hit enter...

2001 Space Odyssey (Come on, bronies, the "Full of stars" comment should have been enough!)

Final Fantasy 4.

The last one has the roman numeral XVIII, probably referring to the canceled Apollo space program, or the movie of the same name implying the program was terminated due to evidence of life forms on the moon.
