Not the greatest animation. Can make a GIF out of it but more than that no...And by the way people...QUIT Thinking about sadness when it comes to Luna... How about just for ONCE make her a god damn DJ maniac, she can control the night and all and possibly make lights shows, who knows...maybe in season 2 they'll do a flashback episode showing Luna as a party maniac, and the ponies complain that they can't sleep xD
You know, it occurs to me that maybe the best way to heal someone suffering from depression, loneliness, and a feeling of being unloved and unappreciated isn't putting imprisoning her by herself on the moon for a millennium!
You're right the moon isn't a planet, it's a moon. That's why it's called the moon!!!!!!!! But anyhow it was a good enough video, It seemed to capture the essence it was representing very well.
The word "planet" is a Greek word meaning "wandering star". When the ancient Greeks looked in the sky they noticed that most of those glowing dots in the night sky stayed in one place, but some seemed to move. The original seven "planets" were the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn (the naked-eye visible moving objects in the sky).
Now we have more specific categories for celestial objects (stars, natural satellites, comets, asteroids, etc.) but it wasn't until the mid 1800s that anything but "planet" was used in the scientific community for any object orbiting the sun directly. And it is still not technically incorrect to refer to the moon as a planet.
But I would like to know why there was wind on the moon in that clip...
@Anonymous So what's the point of saying first? Seriously. So you're first. Who gives a buck? Big whoop I got first comment should I say something intelligent? NO! First! derp!
Though you may be historically accurate, by today's standards, something that goes around the sun in a near circular orbit is a planet and something that goes around a planet is a satellite/moon. So, no the moon isn't a planet.
Also, Celestia's mane has auto wind so why not Luna-er-Nightmare Moon's? (P.S. don't get mad or anything, at best this is just me trolling lol)
But when you're titling something, artistic use of hyperbole and insinuation is permissible. In this case, "planet" is an exaggeration that refers to how Luna spent a thousand years on the Moon unlike any other pony. Therefore, the Moon is Luna's counterpart to Equestria, the size of it enhanced by her solitude. Or in a less WTF phrasing, her "lonely planet".

This was kinda sad, but I still can't come to like Luna all that much... is something wrong with me?
ReplyDeleteThe animation of Luna felt too stiff and didn't feel right, other than that this was sorta good.
ReplyDelete@Narwhals' Bend
ReplyDeleteLuna the best pony?! What about Trixie! Whatever happened to The Great and Powerful Trixie's clout around these parts!

ReplyDeleteThat just might be true...
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ... huh wha... oh. A tad dull for my taste, but it is interesting how they used sattelite scans of the moon for some scenes.

Thanks all! And rest assured I will strive for greater realism in any subsequent videos about immortal space-ponies!
ReplyDeleteLUUUUUNAAAAAA ;^;
ReplyDeleteEerie, kind of sad but has me strangely excited about the new Transformers movies. I love it.

That was fairly well done. I can imagine this being the opening cutscene in some playstation game.
ReplyDeleteThat was pretty awesome. I like the retro feel to it.
ReplyDelete@Dawn
ReplyDeleteNor can I, Fluttershy could knock her shiny horn off.
@Mr.Brony
ReplyDeleteDJ-Luna has been drawn now: http://clockworkspoon.deviantart.com/art/DJ-Luna-215887358
This is one of the most artistic pony videos I have ever seen. This video really shows the true loneliness that Luna felt.
