I just can't stop staring at the last panel, that expression is freaking priceless. Luna may pull all the practical jokes, but Luna is definitely the evil mastermind
I like the twisted takes on the various characters better than I do the skippy-awkward one-off jokes. Besides, after the 'fan' debacle, Luna DESERVED this revenge!
yay! Luna finally gets some love. I approve, even if the insulin thing is a little far fetched (yay little diabetic brother. Or boo, actually, now I feel bad). ANYWAY, I am sooooooo happy to see some Luna revenge. Thank you.
"Prends ça, salope." is what the translate note looks like in French. If anything, Luna should have said 'What goes around...' or something else punny, while 'Touche' should have been something Celestia said.
@SlyWit I think that these events happened about 1000 years ago. Yep, that's why after going back to normal she was so repentant : she realized she took the joke beyond too far when she tried to force people to worship her alone. So we can, once again, the element of laughter for giving her insight into that joke.
So Celestia's magical power comes from drugs, ha! Poor Twilight, she doesn't know this and yet she's still been working so hard to be the real deal, whilst her tutor has been taking the biochemically boosted easy way out.
Celestia, if you have diabeetus...think again. Or call Liberty; they can help you live a better life. [/Wilford Brimley]
Yeah, obviously "touché" doesn't literally mean "take that, bitch"--that was clearly a joke. Good one, too. True, "touché" is typically said by the one who's been owned (acknowledging the other's rightness or success), but in this case it still makes sense. Luna has to say it for her. ;)
While strictly speaking, "touché" doesn't mean what it says, if you think of their exchange of pranks as a metaphorical fencing match, then the term suddenly becomes very appropriate.

Either way, I chuckle'd.

Ahh, I needed this after all the mental abuse Celestia gave Luna xD
Ha Ha! Translation note.
ReplyDeleteMadmax, you are so awesome.
ReplyDeleteThat last panel:
ReplyDeleteBueno
"Diabetes is a terrible thing..."

ReplyDeleteAh....sweet sweet revenge!
ReplyDeleteBecause touché doesn't mean that in english.
ReplyDeletefrom dictionary.com:
1.
Fencing . (an expression used to indicate a hit or touch.)
2.
(an expression used for acknowledging a telling remark or rejoinder.)
So, she did kill someone again.
ReplyDeleteThe god-princess, too. No one is safe now.

ReplyDeleteIn Equestria, insulin is vital. For EVERYONE.
ReplyDeleteJust as touché'd!
ReplyDeleteIt's a remake of stare dad, how has no one caught it yet? o_O (stare Luna?)

ReplyDeleteAND SHE KILLS ANOTHER ONE.
ReplyDeleteI wonder who will die in Madmax's comic's next?
Now that we have our revenge... It feels empty and cold. WHAT HAVE WE DONE?!
ReplyDeleteStill funny, though :D
id rather see her say 'take that bitch' than the french version of it

I hate Celestia ¬¬
LOL "take that" indeed.
ReplyDeleteThough "touché" actually just means "touched", and not "take that bitch".
But I admit it is still heavily implied. -u-
Insunlin? No, we're all out.
ReplyDeleteBut we got an OUTsunlin.
So Celestia's magical power comes from drugs, ha! Poor Twilight, she doesn't know this and yet she's still been working so hard to be the real deal, whilst her tutor has been taking the biochemically boosted easy way out.
ReplyDeleteDon't ever do drugs, Twilight!
@Auta Mane
ReplyDeleteHalf the joke is just how wrong Luna is.
Mind you, explaining that both kills the joke, and makes me cry for humanity.
MUAHAHA! InSUNlin?! Brilliance! XD
