When Jay Naylor a selfish, misogynistic randroid, closet-homo in denial who obsesses over manliness likes this show enough to put more effort into a humanized drawing of the ponies than his comic strip you have to stop and think about what kind of people the haters are.

ReplyDeleteThe clothes fit their personalities plus the cutie marks are incorporated in them, Angel is also present on the picture. I'm pretty sure he watched more than 10 seconds of it not to mention this isn't a comission, according to his FA page he did on his own for practice.

I actually found, that I love Rarity on Naylor's picture. If only Pinkie could be normal and Applejack not so like-from-comics, I could enjoy whole picture.
The only ones I find somewhat appropriate in Naylor's picture are Rarity and Rainbow Dash. Not too much of a fan of his art style though. And that Pinkie Pie looks like she is straight out of Cupcakes... /shudder

They're sweet and innocent and should stay that way! That's one of the things that makes them so awesome. Hopefully Jay doesn't go any "further" with this.

I think it is harmless that that guy is drawing humanized ponies (isn't that the opposite of what furries do?). It looks good and if he keeps his MLP stuff like this, then I don't see any problem with it

ReplyDeleteHey, I'm okay if he draws anthropomorphic versions of the ponies. As long as it's not rule 34 stuff, it's all kosher.
I've actually seen some good 'morphic depictions of the ponies that are tasteful and awesome, but they stay mostly confined to furry websites like FA. It seems other pony fans don't want to see it, and I'm okay with that. :)

ReplyDeleteNaylor is my favorite furry artist (yes, I'm a furfag, and no, I don't want rule 34 of ponies, it's too pure for that kind of shit, I'm ok with shipping though). But now I see this and I fucking love the guy.
ReplyDeleteTotally cool with morphic and "human" ponies, but I understand why this site mainly keeps to the art that is the normal style, which is the type of artwork for FiM I enjoy the most.
ReplyDeleteSeen plenty of morphic and human stuff on ponibooru, so it does manage to make some of the rounds.
The rule 34 stuff, well that ship sailed on day one, but I don't think any of that should be posted here, same with clop fic. If people like those things its fine, but there are places you can go for them already.

ReplyDeleteah theres some good rule 34 human and pony version of this but then again a few people ruin it and theres random disenboweled pony's with cupcakes the story was really good but we don't need to see that >.> clop fics you can find easily enough on fanfiction.net though that one yesterday with gilda was one and rather good read at that.

people have been freaking out over naylor but i don't think anyone's mentioned that the art is *fucking terrible*. he draws in a style I've never liked to begin with, but humanizing ponies (which alone I think generally is a bad thing that destroys the point of the whole "cute ponies" thing unless pulled off exceptionally well) and making them look this disgusting... shit, I hope we don't have to see too much more crap like this when we wade around this site and ponibooru.

ReplyDeleteBeing as I am unfamiliar with this Jay Naylor fellow, I can't bring myself to be 'offended' at the humanized ponies. Actually, I think it's kind of cool, if nothing else, because of the extremely believable designs. They seem to really capture the characters in a humanesqe manner. Especially Rainbow Dash and, in my opinion, Pinkie Pie.

Forget that it looks like 'his' characters, forget that it was drawn by a 'furry'. Forget that it was drawn by him for just a minute, and look at the picture itself. How is it then?
Also, it seems kind of obvious from the comments that not all furries want to see Rule 34 of MLP. So, could we not rag on an entire group? We're kind of close to sinking to 4chan's level, in that regard.

Wow... no offense, but - Jay Naylor gets such a reaction, even if it is negative, that us newer artists kinda get drowned out, reaction wise. All there is, is Naylor Naylor Naylor... admittedly, I feel sorry for him, making a fairly innocent fanpic that winds up with such a huge negative reaction simply because he was the one who did it, but still, it's the fact that he did it that got it such a reaction. It's kinda daunting.

Snips and Snails working in a broach shop like a couple of mechanics is just awesome, as well. And in regards to the Derpy Hooves pics - Happy Derpy Day everybody! There! Now leave Naylor alone!

The image itself is alright, not really sure if I like the style or not. Don't care for how Applejack or Pinkie looks but I do like how Twilight and Rarity are portrayed.

ReplyDeleteJay Naylor is a very talented artist and even a fair storymaker that has sadly fallen prey to wasting his time on making porn and leaving his main comics to suffer.
Just search New World by Jay Naylor to see what I mean on his potental and compare it to his Better Days comic.
Also some of his misconceptions on government and his... political views have bleed over to MLP FiM. Just read his One Pony comic to see what I mean: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7292186/
