Seeing a pony video from Jenny Nicholson in this day and age really takes me back. Her, along with Griffin Lewis, really defined a lot of the early fandom with the Friendship is Witchcraft series and I fondly remember my very first BronyCon in 2012 when the episode 'Cherry Bomb' debuted and I got to see it alongside fellow fans.
Eight years later, Jenny is back with a Fandom Autopsy now that the show and the last BronyCon have now passed. Going through the ups and downs of the fandom from a longtime viewer's perspective she offers some interesting insights in this hour-long analysis.
I admit I have only skimmed it so far myself as I wanted to get this one up as it was blowing up our inbox a bit but I'd say this one is worthy of a bookmark for a future watch if you don't have time right now to dive into it.
Check it out after the break! Thanks to everyone who sent it in!

It seems like we can't go more than a few months without a massive drama bomb can we?
As many of you have already reported to us, there are current pedophilia allegations building about a fandom analyzer going by the name of Toonkritic. We tend to not dive too deeply into these things here on EQD, but the building evidence and even alleged admission seems pretty telling. We aren't a courtroom though, so we can't make any specific claims yet.
We will no longer be posting any Toonkritic content here on the site. You know where to find all the details if you want them. Police have been informed and they should take care of anything they are capable of doing
Now back to poni.

CLICKBAIT, What People View, What They Dislike, and Content Quality - EQD Survey Results Part 1!
by Sethisto
Thanks a ton to everyone that took our survey earlier in the week! Altogether we had a whopping 2056 responses from people all over the fandom, with many a question getting full answers. I wasn't expecting that at all!
Lets go ahead and break down the results, answer some questions that were sent in, and see where we want to go from here with them. I'm splitting this post into two parts, so expect part two either tomorrow or the day after. It got a little bit long.
Anyway, go get results and answers to some questions below!

If you aren't one of those people that follows the deeper fandom drama, you may be surprised to hear that the recent episode sparked a bit of controversy from a few of the more vocal members of the Tumblr world. While we usually avoid drama like this, It's worth posting up what Peter New (The voice actor behind Big Mac) recently dropped over on Facebook.
If you are curious about delving into it, head on over here! It's definitely worth a read.
On a brighter, and also worthy of mentioning that we've seen quite a few transgendered folks pop up defending the episode. The majority of the offended folks appear to not be transgendered at all... The internet really is a strange place isn't it?
Thanks to Micheal for the heads up.

Late last night, the folks over at Everfree Network announced that they will be closing down shop beginning on January 1st, 2015. I personally wanted to take a moment to thank them for all their hard work in the last few years. EFN made it possible for a lot of us to experience conventions, like BronyCon, at home when it wasn't possible to go out and visit the convention. I'm sure, like me, many of you viewed the EFN streams and enjoyed them so much that you went to your first pony convention to experience it in person.
Thank you Everfree Network and to all the folks behind it that made it possible for so many years of great content. To all those involved, best of luck in your future endeavors.
To those of you who enjoy Everfree Radio, don't fret because EFR isn't going anywhere. Beginning on January 1st, 2015 you'll be able to enjoy EFR at its new home at Canterlot Hill. The other shows hosted on EFN will let you know of their own plans via the usual methods of communication they use.
Editor's Note: I had the great privilege to run and maintain the Everfree Network News website from July 2013 to April 2014. It was quite an adventure and I loved every single minute of it. As with anything in life though, one must move on and venture into new territory. Thanks for the memories! -
In hopes of dodging any copyright claims in the future, fandom animator GalaxyArt has moved all of his pony and licenced character stuff to a new archive channel. He was not sent a C&D, it is simply a way to let his main channel focus on his original projects without having to worry about companies coming in and demanding takedowns.
Most of his old stuff can be found, and will be moving over here!
Get the announcement video with details below.

Seasons, Nostalgia, and The Fandom Part 1: The Beginning and The 4chan Board that Helped Start It All
by Sethisto
It's MONDAY. I usually hate Monday. It's right up there with Wednesday for days that nothing happens on. Luckily we just came off an epic season finale. I think this is one of those where the incredible amount of hype from the Writers, Voice Actors, Directors, Boarders, and Hasbro Studios folks was fully warranted. They promised huge, and I'm pretty sure we got huge. Because of this, we still have plenty of energy leftover on a day I usually greatly dislike!
It has been a long time since I've seen the EQD box with ~eighty emails in it when I wake up (I do actually go to bed sometimes), and I couldn't be happier. Yes fandom, we are once again thriving after that one. I think I saw twenty different videos come in replacing the music during the Twilight Vs. Tirek fight with various metal/Dragon Ball Z songs. While we don't usually post stuff like that, It's still exciting to see people so... excited!
How did this one compare to the other season endings? While we here at EQD aren't the center of the sprawling internet-wide pony thing, I like to think we do see a pretty good amount of what goes on in it. For the next few days, I'm going to write up a reflection on what made this fandom possible, name some of the major events, and hopefully give all you new people an idea of what we can do to make this next wait feel much less painful! And if you are still around from the oldschool pony days, join me for a bit of nostalgia.
Without further adieu, head on down below the break for Season One, and the collective confusion of internet denizens everywhere as they were slowly bombarded by an army of cartoon horses.
