Like the path it took or hate it, Friendship is Magic was by far one of the longest lived cartoons out there, and even more successful when you compare it to other girls-focused cartoons. It really was something loads of other companies look up to as a template for creating a successful brand.
Generation 5 is under a lot of pressure to pull of the impossible for a second time. Investors, cartoon enthusiasts, and fans alike are all hoping it pulls it off.
What mistakes should it avoid if it wants to succeed? Following this, we will probably do a discussion exploring the positive side, so feel free to stick to mistakes for this one!

It's that time of the year once again! Your pony collections need to see the light of day, and this is the way to do it!
Whether you have a mountain of stuff celebrating a single pony, or a collection of everything, your mission is to take some pictures and fire them off to us for a bit compilation post in a few weeks. For examples of what other people have done, hit up the collection post from last year.

Friendship is Magic liked to parody the real world, complete with big New York style cities, asian areas, and a host of others. There was plenty more to explore on the Equestrian world map though as it ended.
Where do you want to see the ponies go? Are you more interested in revisiting locations from G4 to see how they are in the future? Or do you prefer entirely new stuff?

Pony Life was kind of a blip here on EQD. It didn't really make many waves outside of the first episode or two, and since then we've gotten almost no fan art of it. It's apparently still continuing forward though with a second season confirmed a few weeks ago.
What would make season 2 more appealing to you? Did you ever finish watching the first set?

Unfortunately Coronavirus is still enough of a threat that conventions are strugging to get a foothold again for the summer. Whinny City Pony Con has decided to go ahead and cancel their event in June. They still hope to return for June 3rd 2022, so keep an eye out for any updates! Hopefully this fall or next year we can get back to normal.

There has been a rumor floating around from back a few months ago that Generation 5 will have a very diverse mane cast. We couldn't any real evidence of it, so it wasn't ever posted here, but it still brought up a lot of questions on what we might expect to see from the ponies of the future.
The rumor initially said we'd get a kirin, bat, stallion, and three mares. How would you like the makeup of pony to be when the movie drops at the end of the year? Should it just be 6 mares again?

Glimmy took over and destroyed the world multiple times at the end of season 5, and now she has to be a hero. This one pretty much started the Starlight apprenticeship era, with all of it's ups and downs. For some, this was the end of pony. For others like myself, she was a breath of fresh air. Feel free to discuss that or the episode below!

With less than 10 days away before a potential big reveal of G5 at Hasbro's incoming investor event, it's easy to wonder what they are cooking up behind the scenes. Surprisingly this time around, there haven't been a whole lot of leaks. In fact, all past leaks were apparently scrapped entirely based on what we heard earlier in the month.
We could see something completely terrible, or the greatest thing ever in the coming week. How will you react if we end up with a turd? Is it time to call it quits on pony for a bit? Or can we fan-fuel G4 until the sun explodes?
Personally I'm goiong to be drawing g4 pony long into the future, so I'll be in that latter category. Whatever Lauren Faust did when she designed these cartoon horses triggered something in some of us that have made it impossible to quit.

We are about 15 days out from Hasbro's big presentation on the 25th, and the generation 5 news is basically a single post at this point now that all of the past leaks and information has been revamped. It really could be anything at this point.
What are you most looking forward to hearing or seeing soon? Are you most curious about the cast of characters they've chosen? Or maybe the art style is what has you biting your nails?
