• Artist Spotlight: Ssalbug / PhantomFox777 / Lahome13 / Foxi-5

Woo! I kept my promise and released another one of these just a week later! Hope I can keep this up and not lose my motivation. We've got a few amazing artists for you guys today so make sure to check them out after the break!

As usual, these posts are in similar style to the Tumblr Spotlights, a group of 3-5 artists will be spotlit each entry along with a small short description along with a small selection of their artwork! In order to make this feature work though we need people to suggest artists to us so make sure to send artists you think need some exposure to calpain@equestriadaily.com. Please also include a short biography I can work with as well as what medium you work in most.

What sort of artists count? Suggestions should follow these criteria:

    • No clop or extensive gore galleries as those typically violate our content guidelines. If the artist has a safe for work gallery separate from their not safe for work stuff they or their fans can submit the safe for work gallery. If there is a mix of SFW/NSFW on a gallery the decision whether or not to include them will be judged on a gallery to gallery basis.
    • Don't be afraid to spotlight yourself as well as others!
    • Artists of all types accepted -vector, OC, traditional, digital. As long as it is pony and of quality it has a chance of being spotlit.

    Now on to the artists!

    Ssalbug

Our first artist today is a master of colors, utilizing them to the fullest effect to evoke the proper emotion for the scene they wish to convey. Combined with crisp and clean line art, Ssalbug is able to generate everything from light and happy scenes utilizing bright colors to sad and dark scenes using a palette of muted hues. These skills translate over well to whatever he may be doing whether it be a comic, a humanized pony or just pony in general. Take a look!

    PhantomFox777

Next up is an artist that practices with both sides of the artistic spectrum: traditional and digital. Using a variety of bright colors coupled with highly detailed line work and backgrounds, Phantom's pictures come to life vividly! Furthermore, she has a very unique style she renders the ponies in, borrowing elements from real life and mythical horses and combining them with the MLP style.

    Lahome13

Not all artists focus on just characters from the show, a fair number out there love drawing pictures for other people just to make them smile. One such artist is Lahome whose pony work mainly consists of OCs of people in the community. While his style may not be overly complex, his pieces are full of emotion and heart which is sure to put a smile on anyone's face.

    Foxi-5

Last up is another popular artist in the fandom, especially if you are a fan of combining ponies with mechs! Foxi-5,,along with UC77, is a one of the mech masters of the fandom, drawing them in loving detail. He has been at work on his pony mechs for years now and almost every major and minor character has lovingly been provided with a mech. Check some examples below!
