• Artist Spotlight: CosmicScribbles / Raven Brush / FarewellDeceny / Longinius-II

Phew, nothing like a vacation to throw a wrench in things. Welcome back to the Artist Spotlight my pony friends! Here we highlight up-and-coming artists as well as the occasional popular artist whose works span the gamut of full traditional to full digital. We've got a varied lot today so check on after the break to see some gorgeous artwork!

As usual, these posts are in similar style to the Tumblr Spotlights, a group of 3-5 artists will be spotlit each entry along with a small short description along with a small selection of their artwork! In order to make this feature work though we need people to suggest artists to us so make sure to send artists you think need some exposure to calpain@equestriadaily.com. Please also include a short biography I can work with as well as what medium you work in most.

What sort of artists count? Suggestions should follow these criteria:

    • No clop or extensive gore galleries as those typically violate our content guidelines. If the artist has a safe for work gallery separate from their not safe for work stuff they or their fans can submit the safe for work gallery. If there is a mix of SFW/NSFW on a gallery the decision whether or not to include them will be judged on a gallery to gallery basis.
    • Don't be afraid to spotlight yourself as well as others!
    • Artists of all types accepted -vector, OC, traditional, digital. As long as it is pony and of quality it has a chance of being spotlit.
    Now on to the artists!

    CosmicScribbles

First up on our art journey today is a digital artist whose combination of unique style and use of digital painting effects results in very soft and fantastical images! This soft painted style is not only applied to the characters, but her backgrounds as well though both only really come together with the fantastic use of lighting Cosmic uses in each of her pictures, blending all the colors together into one cohesive piece. These unique effects complement her unique take on ponies as well, with her soft colors and brush strokes emphasizing the fuzzy ears she tends to put on her equines. If you're looking for something special, definitely give Cosmic a look!

    Raven Brush

Next up is an artist from the other side of the artistic spectrum with her focus being primarily traditional in nature. I had the pleasure to meet Raven in person at Everfree Northwest and her pieces really caught my eye! As a traditional artist her work includes the covers of books, paintings, and cute pony hall hangers and other artwork. If you're a fan of traditional artwork and would love something awesome to hang on your wall or to write your special notes in, look no further! Especially since Raven is hoping to start selling more of her work to the fandom sometime soon.

    FarewellDecency

While most of our artists draw nothing but ponies, it's nice to see some variety every once and awhile something which Farewell does marvelously with her MLP styled griffons. While not much one for backgrounds, her characters are incredibly crisp, vibrant, and very expressive. If you are looking for a little variety in your horse art, check Farewell out!

    Longinius-II

Last up is one of the more popular artists in the fandom, but I believe deserves a mention due to the fantastic work he does. While indeed focusing on a large number of saucy images (you've been warned) Longinius' line art is some of the best in the fandom I must say, with each piece showing incredible attention to detail as well as basic anatomy. Not only that, but when fully colored some of his pieces are some of the most beautiful the fandom has to offer. Don't believe me? Check out some of his pieces below! You'll be hard pressed to find other artists with such attention to detail.
