Nightly Roundup #308

Time for some cute fillies because who doesn't want some cute pony to say good night or good morning to before you read the news?

Yep, Calpain here for another Roundup as we continue our search of the facility for PK. Funny thing is that we still get Roundup reports from him at times despite his disappearance. Must be he's using the mobile device we installed in him to communicate with the outside world.

Anyhow, sort of a short Roundup tonight so have some quick news!

Detailed EqD Fanfiction Statistics

While I may not be much of a fanfic reader myself I still think this is pretty cool. A brony out there took a detailed look at the EqD story archive and came up with an amazing analysis of the stories featured on the site, coming up with all sorts of bar graphs and charts for us to muse over!

My Little Pony Royal Wedding Episode Press Release and Episode List

That was quick! We bugged Shout Factory about the DVD, and they sent over a press release on it. Digging through the text within, it appears to be a compilation of the following episodes:

• A Canterlot Wedding Part 1
• A Canterlot Wedding Part 2
• Hearts and hooves Day
• Sweet and Elite
• The Best Night Ever

That's actually a pretty epic set. So much Canterlot! Did I ever mention how much I love the city?

The actual bonus features are a bit vague, but if the Friendship Express DVD was any indication, this one is probably going to have something pretty cool.  Maybe another extended theme or something? Who knows!

And on to the neat informative bit:

Andrew Francis (Shining Armor / Braeburn) Interview

Andrew Francis (The voice behind Shining Armor and Braeburn) was recently interviewed over on the Trevor Devall voiceprint show.  It is a long one, clocking in at a whopping hour and four minutes, and not pony focused, but there are a few neat tidbits in there regardless! I wonder if we will see more Shining Armor in season 3?

Royal Wedding DVD Pre-Orders on Amazon

It looks like the next installment of the Shout factory pony lineup is on it's way on the 7th of August.  A DVD titled "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: Royal Pony Wedding" is now listed for a cool $10.48. 

Reading the description on it, at 120 minutes we can probably expect a few bonus episodes to go with the two part season finale.  It also rolls with region 1 once again, so those without unlocked DVD players outside the USA probably won't be able to play it.  Considering the trend out there is box sets though,  I bet you guys aren't too worried!

Story Updates May 3rd (Evening)

Just a quick heads up to everone on story submissions.  Right now we are completely flooded.  Even the approved story queue is sitting at around 9 in line right now.   It might be best to wait a week or so before sending stuff in.

I have to admit, I did really enjoy that Jamestown game on Steam.  I might have to try this out once its complete!

Happy Birthday Pinkie Pie!

As many have reminded me over the last few days, today (or yesterday/tomorrow) is Pinkie Pie's birthday.  How was this determined?  You may remember 75 days ago when "A Friend in Deed" aired, and Pinkie Pie announced to the world that her birthday wasn't for another 75 days.  We have hit that, so it's time for a hostile party pony takeover!

Now go celebrate, and eat cake.  We all love cake.  You should probably dye the frosting pink though.
