• Nightly Roundup #387

Gummy in a tub? Gummy in a tub. I actually took care of an alligator once when I was a caretaker for the biology department a few years back. Surprisingly enough they enjoy dried cat food as treats. Who would have known?

    Anyway, news time folks!

    Coffee is Magic!

Twilight wants you to buy some coffee. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but she does present a good sales pitch.

The Brony Bookclub - Episode 4

Today on The Brony Bookclub, Sam and I had on DubsRewatcher, author of "But the Kitchen Sink." Dubs and I regaled Sam with the best synopsis we could of House of Leaves, I once again almost interrupt the guest then insist they continue with their thought, Dubs brought up FiMFiction's recent policy change, Anthropology is finished, Dubs earns this podcast the enmity of Poultron, we learned Dubs is apparently a sadist, and Sam actually had a non-Pony fic to share. Overall, we learned that comedy is very subjective, and harder to do in fanfiction than in a visual medium. The author needs to understand when to use comedy, and when to be serious. It's also better when you have an insane premise to take it completely seriously, and not tongue-in-cheek.

Had a reasonable turn up of I think it was 16 or so people, including our esteemed hardly seen Admin! Here's a photo of everyone who was there for the movie before we went off pony raiding around the city to see what was left of the midyear toysales. Much fun was had by all! Woo!

In this past year, the Ohio Bronies have grown from having meetups of 30 or so people to 700 attendees last weekend at TrotCon. We recently learned that the place where we had our first public meetup, Momo's, is closing, and we want to do something about that. Come join us there this Thursday starting 5 PM to hang out, watch ponies, and most importantly, keep Momo's open.
