    Midwestria General Press Release

    Hey there, everypony!

We've got some exciting new guests announced for Midwestria along with a bunch of awesome events and panels!

To start things off, we're extremely excited to announce writers Amy Keating Rogers and M.A. Larson.

Amy Keating Rogers has written multiple episodes for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic including Applebuck Season, Bridle Gossip, The Best Night Ever, The Cutie Pox, and MMMystery on the Friendship Express. In addition to her work on My Little Pony, Amy has written for The Powerpuff Girls, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, The Fairly Oddparents, and Johnny Bravo. Amy is very excited to be coming out to Midwestria and we're all at least as excited to have her out.

Midwestria marks M.A. Larson's first appearance on the convention scene. He has also written numerous episodes for MLP: FiM including Swarm of the Century, Sonic Rainboom, The Return of Harmony Parts 1 and 2,The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000, and Ponyville Confidential. In addition to his work on My Little Pony M.A. Larson has also written for My Gym Partner's a Monkey, Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil, and Sym- Bionic Titan. We are incredibly happy to be introducing M.A. Larson to the convention scene and hope that you will help make his first con a good one!

In addition to panels throughout the weekend, both of these writers (along with a couple we've yet to announce) will be presenting a MLP writers panel on Sunday of the convention. They'll be talking about the process of writing the show and their personal involvement as well as taking questions from the fans.

We've got two concerts planned out with several of your favorite pony musicians. These concerts will be taking place on Friday and Saturday and will feature different musicians each day. We've got all of our musicians confirmed but we're finalizing tech needs and contracts so keep a very close eye on the website this upcoming week for some big announcements.

We've got a really exciting event in the works that will span all three days of the convention. This event is our Iron Artist competition that will pit 4 guest artists against each other in a competition to see who can produce the best image within the provided time. The first two elimination rounds will take place on Friday and Saturday with the final culmination taking place on Sunday where you will get a chance to see which one of our competitors is the Iron Artist!

Pre-Registration is only $40 and will be open until September 7th. We've gotten a bunch of pre-registrations so far but that doesn't mean you guys should stop! Remember, we don't have an attendance cap so we can handle as many of you as possible!

Panel submissions are still open but not for much longer! All panelists receive a 50% refund of their badge cost upon completion of their panel. To apply to be a panelist fill out the form located on this page

We are still looking for staff in nearly all departments. Staff receive a free badge and the possibility of a discounted hotel room in exchange for 8 hours of work a day. To apply to be on staff fill out the staff application located here.

We still have a limited number of spots open in our Artist Alley. Artist tables cost $80 for the weekend and include one badge. To apply for Artist Alley or for more information please go to our Artist Alley page.
