I saw the header pic, and instantly vowed to read this story.

I bet this wasn't just approved because of the Trixie picture

Bronius Maximus? I might have to read this then.

An interesting take on Trixie. Though, as a devoted fan of hers, I can't help but feel a deep sadness at the inevitable conclusion that would come to pass had this been actuality...

Uh, this is normal and slice of life? It puts everything we know about Twilight's ethics out the window. Should at least be a little bit dark.

I really would like to see a sequel to this. How hard would it be for Twilight to make Trixie real?

Oh, wait, I just realized the implications for Twixie. This is the path to Nightmare Sparkle, isn't it?

Not shipping? That's rare!

Well that was weird... went to look at the story... and all of FIMFiction was derped! "I just don't know what went wrong!" It seems to have fixed itself, but every page was tilted 30 degrees to the right. Aaaanyway, going to check out the story now.

Hilarious short story! And as long as you don't think about it, explains everything- wait. Eh, whatever, still funny.

This gave me the sad...

@moocow1452
You are correct, unfortunately they didn't have a little dark tag.

@Derpmind This was just a quick write I did one day that kind of ballooned into this wild and-dare I say it- Unlikely Scenario!

The only reason I wrote this is because we haven't seen any more trixie since her episode. Why not? Because Twilight is secretly a mad scientist.

@Cricket Insecti Yes! Don't think! I didn't when I was writing it. I was on autopilot at 3am after too much of a good time.

I'm going to have to agree with moocow on this one. Frankly, what Twilight's doing goes way beyond just 'a little bit dark.' She's creating a new life, which has plenty of moral implications by itself. Moreover, she's doing so solely and expressly for her own benefit, and with the understanding that it will die within a single day. That right there is evil with a capital E.

On a story construction level, I have to say that I didn't really understand how this could be made to mesh cleanly with Boast Busters. Twi explicitly creates Trixie to get "some recognition without looking like a show off." How does she plan to do that? The only way I can see for her to achieve that goal is to one-up Trixie, but she expressly refuses to do so in the episode until Snips and Snails bring an Ursa into town. Are we supposed to assume that she knew they would do that, and was biding her time? The only other explanation I can come up with is that her conscience got the better of her at the last minute (at Trixie's show, that is), but her brazen disregard for ethical responsibility in this story makes that seem unlikely. Surely she wasn't planning to soak up Trixie's acclaim vicariously, as she clearly expresses her own desire for recognition.

One minor point: putting character thoughts in quotes and italics is overkill. Italics alone is standard.

The writing wasn't bad, the editing was fine. Moreover, the story itself was concise and very readable. But I couldn't bring myself to swallow this interpretation of Twilight, and I wasn't able to reconcile what happened here with the episode it purports to set up.

@Bronius Maximus I thought we haven't seen any more of Trixie because she ran sobbing to Froggy Bottom Bog and was there devoured by the hydra and GONE FOREVER!!! *trolls Seth*

@The Seventh Wonderbolt It has become "Derprunner", about a group of ponies made only to fight the battles their creators wished them to, and then they die. Harrison Ford does Derpy's voice.
