Someone over on the Lego website recently built these 3d model pony lego ideas. Sadly, they aren't real, but the thought is there! These in particular are based off of the KP Shadow Squirrel's that have been floating around all over the place.
The actual mechanics seem like they would work even without legos. You guys do have some pretty wild OC ponies with mismatching parts. I should know, they all invade my inbox!

I'm not too thrilled about Lego ponies, I liked Legos when I was a kid, but sponsored Legos just kind of killed it for me... Interesting though.

There's that idea. I wouldn't catter to videogames however, since we have that cover with the iPad apps. Board games and toy sets are the way to go, in my opinion.

I thought I suggested this back in November in EQ in the topic called "What MLP products would you like to see?" and everyone suggested plushies or something.
Minecraft recently received the okay for Lego sets, so all we need now is 10,00 people to support the Lego Cussoo page! But I doubt that Hasbro would allow it, with them pushing Kreo and everthing.

Maybe if Lego was not so adamant about splitting up girls and boys when it comes to their sets and then making pathetic attempts to cater to girls, I would buy these if they existed.

i'm hoping for plushies myself. i would also love the lego set suggested here. and, of course, an album of the show songs. i have ten itunes dollars on standby for that very eventuality.
however, in the realm of craziness, i think what would be officially the best possible product would be an official MLP Tabletop RPG. i would buy that line so hard. they could also factor the blindbags into the system!
if given a choice on the matter, i think i'd love to see it as a powered by GURPS rpg (i am a gurps nerd), but i'll take whatever they've got. i just really want a role-pony game.

Seriously, all it would take to make this a reality is to get half a dozen people in the same room to sign a few licensing agreements. Prototype the model above with a 3D printer and set the ball rolling.
This is exactly the kind of stuff we should be pushing for. Heck, if I had the cash and the connections I'd do this myself. :)

Seriously, I love Lego, even though it's been years since I bought any. If this were real I would so be buying them again. So um yeah, Hasbro & Lego get on that, I've got me some money I want to give you.
I unfortanetly had to get rid of my Legos back when i moved out. It will be neat if they made Lego ponies. Many people will be all over them.
I think we've reached the point where you can ponify anything and somepony will buy it. So far, plushies and show-acurate figurines are the biggest sensation. Cell Phone Accesories will be neat, too. Posters, Laptop covers/bags, show-accurate costumes for the little girls who like the show, music albums...
But i think that a bigger issue Hasbro needs to solve is worldwide distribution. I remember how last year everypony was struggling to get blindbags or special figurines. Some others can't find anything past G3.5 in their stores. And this could be the only thing stopping them to have even bigger profits.
So long as they're show-accurate, this is a great idea.

That really begs the question why we don't have MLP kre-os in stores already?
As a long time lego fan, mainly bionicle, I find this to be awesome, I would buy these in a <3 beat.

Hasbro and Lego are rival companies and I am sure Lego will not approve of this and I am also sure Hasbro will not give a copyright license to Lego so that they can make the show-like toys :))

LEGO ponies will never ever happen, but KRE-O ponies are still a possibility. They would be essentially the same as LEGO ones but with cheaper plastic.

LEGO ponies will never happen due to Kre-O existing, on the bright side Kre-O is on-par with LEGO as far as quality goes.
And with Hasbro expanding the Kre-O brand to include the Battleship franchise, it certainly seems like a success. So we could get Kre-O ponies!

Third idea: Watches with quality artwork, for collectors.
Idea #4: MLP:FIM flatware, to go with the dishes that are due out in stores very soon.
Actually, Lego's patent ran out several years ago, which is why Megabloks exist. there's no reason Hasbro can't just make these.
I want a pony video game. Something like Bowser's Inside Story would probably work best.
Idea five: Postage stamps (probably from St Lucia) for stamp collectors.
Idea #6: Pony piggy bank, could be Pinkie in her piggy costume, but there many possible ponies to choose from.

Hasbro is actively competing against Lego with their KREO brand. Currently only Transformers have been used (At least, since I last hit the toy store.) However, I could see Hasbro running with this idea.

Of course I don't think this would be possible as a Lego product since we're talking about Hasbro property.

Hasbro will never let LEGO do it, of course, because they have KRE-O. But if LEGO came to them, it would certainly grab Hasbro's attention, and make them consider a Pony KRE-O line. Which would be a huge win for both them and us!
Eleventh idea: MLP:FIM cookie jar. Cookie jars are a cross-collectible as there are people who specialize in cookie jars. That means more competition at auction and higher prices, but that probably only applies to _official_ merch.

If hasbro was going to make building block ponies they would be KRE-O (because they own the brand), which would be okay, but everyone knows that anything other than Lego isn't nearly as good.

I'm actually not much of a toy buyer, but I do plan on getting my 2 year old son Lego (should he ever ask for MLP toys though I'd likely get them for him) and yet I think these would be right up my alley. I haven't really been following lego since my childhood but I'd love to take up the torch again.

Well the Pegasus bodies could be a special body of each color with the wing attachment slot.
There could be a special head of each color with a horn attachment. Horn types being short and long, wing types being open and folded up.

Saw this the other day. Though I'm not really a big Lego fan these day, I used to be and this is a pretty fun little idea.
As for other merchants... all of them? lol Impossible, obviously. It's going to be pretty much just what Hasbro wants and thinks will net them a good profit. :P
Knowing Lego, if they made such a thing they would find a way to make a universal pony body that would work with or without wings. The horn would probably be part of the hair.

(Kreo is Hasbros' building block line. At the current moment, all they have is Transformer Kreo sets, but they have more lines planned. I wouldn't be surprised to see this actually happen.)

Oooh! That does sound promising. It might still be worth supporting the Cuusoo campaign just to show Hasbro that the brony market is open to such ideas, even though it looks like Hasbro would never let Lego touch their IP.
