The only thing I can understand is the words "iPad 2" in the description -_-

Fake or not, they are really well done. I think they'd have a more difficult time selling those with Hasbro's trademark than they would without too.
Put myself down for a Derpy and a Celestia. Let's see what happens. The actual price itself is good (16 dollars total) but it's going to be the shipping that will prove costly.
They look awesome. I'm surprised that they actually included the copyright symbol on the hoof. It would be pretty fantastic if they weren't knockoffs though I have a feeling they are because after the Derpy fiasco I doubt they'd be so cool to do a toy of her. BUT I would not want to buy them if I knew they weren't made with crappy paint or something like that.
Considering some of the new toys from Hasbro themselves, a Derpy toy doesn't seem like a huge stretch anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if perhaps Hasbro released one in their next wave. Maybe.
@Octavia I was thinking that too, but the thing that makes me think they aren't legit is the wings being different from the other toys.

Well, I just ordered one. Came to a little over $8 in the end, not bat at all. Thanks @Dashell for that link! It's probably a knockoff, but it's Derpy and it's actually a decent price for a knockoff so I don't really care lol. She can join Leeroy Jenkins, Edward Elrick, and Blind Bag Fluttershy and Sparkly Twilight on my shelf of epic. She'll be the biggest thing on the shelf of epic too lol, fitting. I wonder how long she'll take to ship.
Errgh... Western union doesn't want to work for me and Paypal and I have been fighting for years... Looks like I'm going to miss out on Derpy.
It's not clear if this is going to be a genuine Hasbro release; the derped eyes and cutie mark are too large even by Fashion Style standards. It seems very possible that Chinese workers printed different eyes and cutie mark on a Fashion Style Lily Blossom [if such a thing exists] to emulate the popular character. I'd say it's a 50/50 chance that this is actually going to be sold.

what random rototypes? Also if they are making Derpy, chances are the toy will be labeled "Ditzy Do" because of the whole thing with "Derpy". I'm also guessing they'd only risk it because of all the positive mail they received about Derpy and the Derpy merch keeps selling from We Love fine.

There is no Fashion Style Lily Blossom. Only the mane six and Celestia and Luna are fashion style ponies.

The toy is "official" in the sense that It's made from the factory, the Fashion style is exactly the same as the other Fashion styles, (the wings are correct, the cutie mark is the correct size, ect), and Everything I have seen this website post, eventually came out (excluding factory errors, but this doesn't seem like a factory error).
Hasbro should learn how to make toys for niche markets like bronies or someone else will fill the demand.

Those aren't hand-painted eyes, obviously. Wich means that at any rate, somebody at the factory put in the effort to design and then print derpy-eye decals.
So either there are undercover bronies working in a chinese factory, or this is a prototype.

Holy... her eyes actually ARE derped. that's a heck of a detail for a "knock-off" or are these early release of official designs? Even if she's released here like that as "Ditzy Doo" if they keep the eyes derped I'm getting one no questions. The Luna one's also pretty cool.
Another thing: considering how much of this fandom seems to be devoted to modding the vinyl figures, how come we haven't seen a blank, modifiable figure on sale yet?
Almost every single vinyl toy these days has that option since they're dirt simple for the companies to produce: just pour colorless vinyl into an existing mold, skip the decals and sell at the regular prize.

Hasbro released a blank customizable G3 pony, so hopefully they'll release a G4.
For now, the closest thing we have to a blank base are Blossomforth, Plumsweet, and Rarity with a bit of acetone.
Just ordered a Derpy... I think. $8.85 total including shipping although the website is a little confusing. They take Paypal so that seems safe enough but they ask for a mobile number to complete the order. I went ahead and put mine in... I mean, it's worth the risk for Derpy.
I have a theory on the Derpy toy. I rather doubt she'd be sold like this in typical stores such as Toys R US, but what if she's this year San Diego Comic Con exclusive? That would definitely be in line with the niche market idea someone else mentioned.
If she does turn up at ComicCon, I'm finding some friend of mine that's going to get me one. No doubt they'd be selling on eBay for a small fortune.

I ordered a derpy and i got both the Notification of payment received and the paypal receipt... Nothing suspicious so far :)
If Paypal and I got along I'd consider doing a group order to see if that saved on postage per pony. I'll have to leave that idea to someone else. I'd be in for one Derpy should that happen.

I think a better word, given the type of product it is, is either "bootleg" or "counterfeit". However, the latter is a little strong given the overall low value of the product, and the former is used for the imitation toys from rival companies. In which case, "Knock-off" is probably the best term to describe these.
Also, I think everyone here knows that these are most likely going to be in short supply, and are probably not going to be officially released and found in places such as Walmart and Target.
I must get my mitts on the Derpy toy, just have to scrounge up the money first. I'm almost out of disposable income because I insta-bought the Friendship Express DVD (much to the dismay of my dad, who is the least tolerant in my family).
Then again, it's payday either tomorrow or this weekend, and I can always dip into my "new computer parts" fund...

We just spent about $16 for two of these. Even if the shipping's going to be around $35, I figure that a custom commissioned 3" Derpy would be between $25-$30 each... so two 6" Derpy's for $50 isn't all that bad.

BTW, I just received an update from BuyTaobao saying my order should take about a week to process.
I do think this may be some sort of limited edition. Why? Because 1. as said before either there's bronies in the factories or Hasbro has some plans for this
2. It exists and will probably be the Comic Con release, last year some people complained about the Con pony being a past Gen and Hasbro isn't stupid, they know Derpy would be what everyone wants. However due to the previous issues with Derpy the only way to actually sell a figure of her without "offending parents" would be to sell it at Comic Con.
Funniest thing is that the ponies are being sold to be used as Ipad Acessories >< To be covered in the shiny jewels and glued to the back of some Ipad's cover. Apparently its the new way to decorate Iphone's and Ipad's. Poor ponies...

Is anypony having trouble getting their money refunded? When I ordered I checked the option "If this item is sold out, cancel my order" but I haven't seen any evidence that they actually have. I'm leaving another message now directly saying that I'm cancelling the order and I want my money refunded. Personally, I don't think I'll be buying from Taobao again.
I received Derpy today and I must say that the photograph from the website just doesn't do her justice. She's absolutely adorable!

Sync, which deputy did you go through? We went through BuyFromTaobao and opted to wait and see if any more came available, but none ever did so I think you just hit up the deputy for a refund which is what I'm gonna do.
They're supposed to cancel your order and give your money back if the item is out of stock but apparently some folks here were having some issues getting refunds out of them, but I dunno if that's been sorted out yet or not...
