It was okay. I don't really like the original at all. It's not the lyrics (haven't heard them XD), it's the music. It's a decent try, at least.

No need to be ashamed. The only reason the original version sucked was because of its lyrics and horrible singing. This rendition fairs quite well with the music which makes it pretty amazing.
Okay...I've honestly never bothered listening to "that song" as everyone is referring to it. But I can now understand why everyone says it's so bad. This wasn't bad, because it was about Derpy. But dear sweet Celestia! The original must be just horrible.
