Oh, cool... this story made it to Equestria Daily. I've been digging it so far. I love seeing Twilight throw down against the major magic users of Equestria (and whatever the other nations of the world are called.) It's also fun seeing her as a reluctant celebrity.
And, of course, the inevitable match against the Great and Powerful one.
Looking forward to the next chapter.

The only reason I wasn't invited is because chaos conjuration and illusion is not 'real magic'.
That committee can kiss my flank. Chaos is real magic. I can create clouds from a boulder for Celestia's sake. I can make it hail sugar cubes and snow ice cream if I wanted.

Trixie isn't that important to the story, I wouldn't immediately skip on this story just because of her.
The story is very interesting and well written. It takes a bit too much liberties with other equestrian races for my taste and a dragon / pony magic battle still seems a bit unfair to me, but those things don't distract from the story and a really tense tournament. It will be an interesting finale, that's for sure!
I've been waiting for a good tournament fic. I hope this one lives up to my expectations.

That might have been really confusing...
The opening to chapter 12 reeaally threw me for loop, thought for a minute that some lost chapter from earlier in the story was getting posted out of order or something. That aside, I'm enjoying this story quite a bit, and I can't wait for the next chapter. I've just gotta' see how this duel plays out. :D

I've only just found this story, but it sucked me in immediately. I just couldn't stop reading the story until I reached the end of chpt. 12, and now I'm on tenterhooks to find out what's going to happen next.
The storyline is compelling, the presentation of magic interesting, the world-building expansive yet still believable, and the characters true to their canon personalities.
Their are some minor typos and awkward phrasing here and there, but nothing sufficiently noticeable to detract from a 5 star story that I can hardly wait to continue.

Sigh. In a textbook example of Dean's Law in action, my sentence complaining of typographical errors had a typo in it: it's "there", not "their".
While I'm back here, I also want to mention one thing I left out yesterday - the references to "Friendship is Witchcraft" tickled me. I commend you for including them in an amusing and unobtrusive way.

That story was a ton of fun! I was cheering for Twilight all along. And that last chapter was pure gold, especially with that introspective little bit. I would love to see a wrap-up chapter though. Great writing, thanks for sharing!

I don't know how you made me feel sorry for the dragon queen, but I do…just a bit. Fear and paranoia go a long way it seems. And what of Twilight? She's burning herself out. Even if she can handle that much power physically, her mind can't. I hope she finds something to keep herself grounded, besides the princesses, otherwise there'll be trouble. That's assuming she survives this encounter of course.
I want to read more of this so bad, it hurts. Thank you for sharing!
