The guys over at PonyKart have released another video, primarily focusing on concept art with a bit of crowd pony display at the end. This is looking to be an epic one! I can't wait to see a demo or something in the future.
I also see a focus on Twilight for driving, which is a win in my book.

It's amazing what fans can do when they put their minds to it. Hell, this may one day get the attention of Hasbro and have it actually released. After some refining with a bigger budget, of course.

Just so you know, you can play this if you search around the ponykart site a bit. There was a guide on the ponychan thread, but I don't know if it's still up.
This is amazing. The Background ponies part is the one that got me the most. Oh my God, this is going to be a fantastic game. I haven't seen these levels of profesionalism anywhere in a long time.

They messed up on Lyra but overall good job.

It looks to be open source (via SVN), so any interested ponies can just checkout it from Sourceforge.
I know this is simple animation testing, but Lyra should surely be on her back in those stands.

I think the karts should be louder. I'm really exited anyways and I'm looking forward to see more of the tracks and stuff =D

I think it was just a matter of the recording input level being too low, rather than how you were talking. Always a good idea to normalize your audio after recording, as well.

@Rainbow Dash Because there's a 'no wings' rule obviously. I'm sure you remember what happened when you tried to break that rule in the Running of the Leaves race.
A warning if you do try and play it - there is a reason there's no prebuilt link yet, the game isn't nearly as smooth (in camera or control) playing the build as it is in the SAA video.
Looking forward to this. Played around a bit (testlevel is best level) and it's starting to shape up nicely.

I like the simple art style they went with: it preserves the cartoon feel of the show, but allows for 3-d. very nice. Also, great job with the background characters!

These look waaaaay better than the G-mod ponies, but I still think the eyes are a little too big and the rest of the face a little too small.
Twilight's an excellent driver btw: she always looks behind the vehicle when backing up.

I like how these guys are more careful about putting clones of the same characters in a crowd than the actual makers of the show. :P

These guys are trying their darnedest to catch up with the Fighting is Magic crew in terms of awesomeness. MUST PLAY.
It is only a few gigabytes worth of SDK to download to build this, followed by a few megabytes of svn client stuff and then some hundreds of megabytes to check the project out. It is easy to build and test this yourself. You don't even need to edit any files. Just check out, load the project and hit run.
Did anyone catch a glimpse of that poofy pony at the end, Its kind of hard to pause it at the right moment but it looks like the shaggy dog of the pony race, wonder what it would be used for

I'm looking more forward to this than Mario Kart 7 and I'm a rabid fan of the MK series.
Hope Hasbro takes the team and makes it an officially licensed 3DS game.
This is absurd. I think I am looking forward to this just as much as D3, and certainly more than ME3.
This isn't to say I'm not super-hyped for a lot of games, those two included. It's just bloody marvellous, flippin' STAGGERING to see how good this game is looking! The attention to detail is absurd, and the love and care put into this is evident.
And Commander Shepard ain't a pony.

Oh man, i am a HUGE Kart style racing game fan. This... this is like the epic icing on the already epic icing that has been added to the original icing of the epic cake known as MLP. That's a lot of icing. Fighting is Magic is still on my "Watch" List... but this has officially outranked it. Cant wait to see more, go Pony Kart team go!
I would pay $20 to buy this on Steam.
That aside, it looks like the developers for this are creating the tools we would need for making other 3D pony games. The possibilities are endless.
