I'm not too sure how balanced something like this would be, but you gotta give them some credit for making pretty damn accurate rendition of Ponyville Hospital and Daring Do's temple with just a few clips from the show.
I've been playing a lot of TF2 lately, are there any servers out there that rotate these? I can only do so much 2fort!

Stiff-tailed ducks are part of the oxyurinae subfamily of ducks. All have, as their name implies, long stiff tail feathers, which are erected when the bird is at rest. All have relatively large swollen bills.
These are freshwater diving ducks. Their legs are set far back, making them awkward on land, so they rarely leave the water.
Their unusual displays involve drumming noises from inflatable throat-sacs, head throwing, and erecting short crests.
Plumage sequences are complicated, and aging difficult. Plumage is vital for survival because of this animals tendency to spend time in the water. Without plumage this duck would die of hypothermia because of an inability to regulate its body temperature.

Not too shabby. That one room of the hospital... right next to the new-born babies room too. lol
The work on these is wonderful. I love the temple one, with the squares that hurt you when you don't step on the right ones. The people who create these maps always amaze me for how creative they are.
I want to join the servers that play these maps, but I can never find an open spot. -_-
Hey Seth, I'm not sure if you've been on the pony fortress 2 servers, but if not then you should try them out. It's a great community, and has 5+ public servers that have different map rotations, sometimes we do ponyville/appleloosa maps, its alot of fun so you should check it out :D Ill send you a friend invite on steam if you want, and give you all the relevant info.

In the 'browse servers' category, search for the keyword 'pony.' There are about four brony servers that I know of, and they're really good.
We usually play on pony fortress, but its usually normal maps!
There's a great pony server from San Jose I've been using, found a lot of great maps through it and wouldn't doubt this joining the rotation

Yeah a lot of the more crazy/ fun stuff happens on the password protected mod/admin only servers, we did a vs. Saxton Hale mode on Ponyville, it was epic.

Okay, this guy is getting better - but this map is still horrible. For one, you get injured getting dropped out of spawn. For two, even as a deathmatch map, this thing is too small. 24 players on this map would fill half your view. For three, I shouldn't hit the edge of the map a millisecond after walking forward from spawn. For four, I shouldn't even be able to SEE the edge of the map at all. I can see the whole box the playable area is in. For five, it's full of annoying obstacles that you can quickly get stuck on (the book carts in the middle of the hallway.) For six, I shouldn't see white seams in the sky where the skybox textures aren't lining up.
I admire the guy for being able to use Hammer (lord knows I can't), but can someone with far better skill in the program make a pony map for TF2 that's also a good TF2 map, not just a slapped-together-in-a-few-days exercise in crap that most people will say "looks good" because there's no better alternative? If we can have a brilliant Mariokart map, we can have a brilliant pony map. Come on, everypony. We can do better than this.
Well this might just get me to buy TF2.

There is a server with maps like these with those diffrent game modes.
Its great server but downloads takes a lot time.

I often play on one of the two legion of Pony servers, there are quite a few regulars there and they even have a Highlander team in the current UGC season!

Just tossing this out here, but TF2 is a free game.
I would rather have one good mlp map for team fortress 2 that actually works for a game mode like ctf or capture point than several of these type of maps.

Poniponiponi uses them Honestly I'm surpised you never saw them, what with "pony" being in the server tags and all...
There is one thing I have never understood: why is no one calling it a "horsepital?" It's SUCH a better name for it in Equestria!

Adding on to what you said: yah, these maps are terrible, aesthetically and game-play wise.
The flat, 2D ponies are boring and entertaining for maybe three seconds. It would be better if they simply weren't there. The edge of the map *should never* be visible.
Nothing is textured. It's all flat and boxy.
Faaarrrr too many open spaces. Promotes sniper spamming. Pyros are at a huge disadvantage because they can't ambush effectively. The ground should be bumpy and flawed, at least outside, for demoman grenades. The huge area at 1:38 is an absolute abomination.
For 24-person play, it's also way too small.
Yes it's pony related, but this would not be a fun map to play on. I really wish there were some high quality pony maps. I know one person from Ponychan was working on a really nice Ponyville, but I think he quit.

I don't get why people end maps in blank little areas like that, it annoys me to no ends.
On the criticisms of this map, i don't really think it's designed to be competitive. All the pony themed maps i've been on have been for goofing around, like the more fun trading or achievement maps. There usually wasn't even actually a way to win. And they were still fun, just fun in a micspammy, talking and shooting at other bronies in ponyville sort of way. I get that some people don't enjoy that, but that doesn't make the map bad.
That said, i think it'd be really cool to try to make a Pony map to actually play on, for actual competition.
You just can't judge this map like a regular map :/
