Once again, Hasbro has come to YOU for advice on their new pony side series that specifically focuses on a single pony. They want it to target the younger male demographic this time around, so hearts and hugging may be something to avoid!
Do you expand upon Daring Do? Exploring ancient temples littered with traps while being chased down by Nazis? (Please no aliens...)
Or maybe you want to follow one of the mane cast on an epic adventure across Equestria?
The choice is yours! Choose a pony, and summarize your idea.

@MyBoyJ Do want
ReplyDeleteMake a Daring Do series and have the main show reerence it sometimes
ReplyDeletemaybe start another mane six, like a B-team, using fan favorites like Doctor Whooves, lyra, Bon Bon, Octaivia, Vinyl, and Derpy. something like that as another group for even more misadventures! But I am on board with any idea, any way it goes, it still means more ponies!
ReplyDeleteCelestia and Luna team up in a Quest to find the Elements of Harmony, a weapon with which they can put an end to Discord's Reign of Chaos.
ReplyDeleteLuna and Celestia maybe with guards

ReplyDeleteI already did this, with my fic Hackers with Hooves. It's the adventures of a pony called Spark Runner in Fillydelphia.
ReplyDeleteBut you want a spin-off using a character that's already in the show? Hmmn.
The problem with targeting the teenage male demographic is that you need a teenage male main character with which the viewer can self-identify. There aren't any teenage males on the show. Snips and Snails are too young (and not hero material), and Big Mac is too old and responsible. You'd have to have a new main character.
But you could have his love interest/sidekick/friend by one of the FiM gang. With that in mind I'd choose DJ Pon-3. Her boyfriend (yes, I'm ignoring the Lyra shipping :) ) could be a secret agent for Celestia, traveling across Equestria in secret as one of her roadies. Or he might just be a musician and they could have adventures, like Josie and the Pussycats or Jabberjaw. Of all the canon ponies, Pon-3 has more freedom than anypony else. She'd be great in a spin-off show.
I also support the idea of Making a Daring Do Series, and at the end of every episode having Rainbow Dash read the final words aloud.
ReplyDeleteI think the wanderbolts could make a good little series that would appeal to younger boys. That way it could have lots of action would wouldn't be a parody of another show/film like Doctor Whooves and Daring Doo.
ReplyDeleteDaring Do does sound good, and it would be a nice change from the ponies we're familiar with. Magical artifacts, lost civilisations, booby-trapped temples, epic battles and bad-ass bad guys.
ReplyDeleteBut an epic adventure would allow us to get to know a pony we already know and love, we would be familiar with their antics and there would be a lot of potential to both see how they work and witness some serious character development, plus adventure, new lands, we'd get to see how Equestria works and most likely see an epic bad guy.
Tough call, but I'd have to go with the second option though,
Daring Do or Dr. Whooves would be good.
ReplyDeleteWould love a Luna....I want more Luna.
the Great and Powerful Trixie could also work.
The adventures of Rainbow Dash and Gilda. Whether its set when they were in Junior Speedsters or in the near future, either would be great.
ReplyDeleteCelestia and Luna versus Discord would also be cool.
The story behind Luna and Discord.

ReplyDeleteI think that the best thing at this point is to go along with the Daring-Do series. It could work for them in several ways:
ReplyDelete*The MLP ponies could be a bookend to the new series similar to Toy Story is to the Buzz Lightyear TV series (in continuity, Buzz is based on said series.)
*It would be easier to tie a Daring-Do series to the other boys' properties (e.g. Transformers) than it would be to tie to MLP.
*It could be a pastiche of the Indiana Jones, Sky Captain, and similar 30's - 40's settings.
*ZOMGMOARPONIEZ!
That's just my two cents on it.
Daring do, PLS PLS PLS
ReplyDelete@Matoro
ReplyDeleteomg, Rarity staring in "Darling Doo"
Best.Possible.Thing.
I'd vote for Daring Do or Rainbow Dash!! :D

ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a series taking place in Equestria's past. Like "The Adventures of Starswirl the Bearded"!! :D
ReplyDeleteOr like someone earlier said, a story about the Royal Guards. Perhaps during the war to dethrone Discord and put the Alicorns in his place? :)
The Pinkie Pie Show!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMake small episodes with derpy hooves
ReplyDeleteWhy not have a series about Princess Luna and Celestia working together to fight against Discord? Or a story about the original elements of harmony and how they came to be? Likely to be more pony sword wielding boy-related action involved in an ancient history before the princesses. We already know the three tribes went at it quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteMake small episodes with derpy hooves
ReplyDeleteMake small episodes with derpy hooves
ReplyDeleteGuys, come on, this is just a fun little activity for us to do. Hasbro isn't ACTUALLY looking to us for a side series.
ReplyDeleteA decent idea might be expanding more into Dashie's younger days at flight camp, family, etc. OR create a new pony as a young ill prepared recruit into Celestia's or Luna's guard.
DARING DO!!!
ReplyDeleteDARING DO!!!!!
DARING DO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd like a spin off series with humor in it, I can't really see that happening with Daring Do. Luna could be a great staring role, still say it shouldn't just have one protagonist
ReplyDelete- Mare Do Well spin-off, Batman: TAS style. Maybe a new pony can take up the mantle and become Canterlot's guardian or something...
ReplyDelete- Doctor Whooves!!! If BBC would allow it there's so much potential there. Cybermen on their Moonbase confronting Luna, Rassilon with the "Eye of Harmony", etc. Total MLP crossover gold there.
- Daring Do, since that would obviously be awesome with all of it's potential.
- Derpy Hooves in a mini-series. Kind of like the Silly Symphonies Disney had but with more continuity incorporated into it.
- Something with Trixie, in some kind of variety sitcom styled show centered about her and whatever it is Trixie does.

ReplyDeleteMaybe a side series based on Evangelion. Where a group of colts and fillies find themselves in a war against Solar Flare (Celestia's evil alter ego) and her demonic creations.
ReplyDeletePinkie Pie and Deadpool.
ReplyDeleteLet no 4th wall go unbroken.
Im totally in for Daring Do.
ReplyDeleteDaring Do! She makes Indiana Jones look like an amateur!

ReplyDeleteGuys? Seriously? Some of these ideas... I mean, dont get me wrong, most are all good ideas in their own sense. But most of whats listed here, do not meet the "...younger male demographic..." criteria.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion?
History of Discord, Celestia, Luna. Very young them. Around Mane6 current age. So WAY WAY WAY long ago.
History of how Discord went from probably good friends with Luna/Celestia, to preferring to have a laugh a little too often then Celestia would like. Maybe throw in just a LITTLE bit of romantic comedy between the two. Perhaps something wrong is said/done between them, and a rift grows? Maybe someone is pushed too far? Perhaps Discord is the reason Nightmare Moon happened? Which is why Celestia turned him to stone? And had to banish NMM to the moon, because she didnt have the resources/power/etc to free her from whatever weird stuff Discord did to her.

ReplyDeleteStar Swirl the Bearded, maybe? Seems like there's a lot of opportunity to tell stories around him, and since he's a big-name wizard from history, it could be more focused on fantasy, adventure, and magic in general.
ReplyDeleteUnless, of course, it was supposed to fit in the time frame of the ponies we know.
Does what we're doing on TV Tropes fall under that jurisdiction?
ReplyDeleteSo much pairing stuff going on in here! Remember guys, this is supposed to be a spin off for young boys!
ReplyDeleteDaring Do is a good option I guess, but I'd rather see something else.
Why not a Discord back story with him as the main character? Young Discord goes an adventures across ancient Equestria.
I also liked the idea mentioned above about Captain Hurricane and the Pegasus army. That could be pretty cool!
Daring Do is awesome, but I'd like a Derpy/DrWhooves better. The thing is that I don't think they'll be able to do it as we think of it. With a TARDIS and all the DrWho we want in it. Mainly because of copyright shits :x If they CAN then yes, DrWhooves ftw.
ReplyDeleteIf they don't Daring Do would be a great asset.
I would also LOVE to see Celestia and Luna's life. How they deal with other countries, how they deal with day a day stuffs. It would be so darn awesome!!
ALSO WOONASTUCK!
Just need Derpy Hooves as a/the main character, i dont even care what it's about! xD
ReplyDeleteDerpy accidentally finds the hidden Mysterious Mare-Do-Well costume in the Carousel Boutique and decides to have some fun.
ReplyDeleteEither Doctor Whooves (which probably won't happen do to copyright) or Daring Do.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that there aren't really that many male characters to begin with... Maybe like Braeburn or something?
ReplyDeleteBut I really like the Daring Do idea, just change it a little so it's also for boys.
Someone mentioned something about a super secret spy organization. That could be really fun too!
How about a series focusing on Spike?
ReplyDeleteBasically a surreal, cartoon series featuring Spike in a town full of dragons and other mythological creatures (including griffons, manticores, etc.) That might basically translate to a boy version of FIM, but really, a spinoff targeted to boys pretty much has to revolve around Spike.
That's just me. I'd watch it if it's good.
Political satire with Celestia.
ReplyDeleteI wanna see more of Canterlot.
Derpy or Daring Do. (Derpy more so.)
ReplyDeleteHowever, I think that this side series should be avoided. It might turn out like shit.
I'd say Daring Do would probably be epicly perfect. There's a lack of legit adventure series out there today for kids, there's Transformers but that's about it off the top of my head... at least if you look at new stuff and not reruns.
ReplyDeleteIndiana Jones was based off the old time adventure serials, we don't really have any of those anymore, so make this based off them and bring the genre back.
We already have an established hero and villain for the series, so that's all done. Also, the episode structure could be able to be worked a little differently here so instead of fitting an entire story into one episode they could put the whole story over a season, essentially making a season into each book. This could also be worked out pretty well in merch, making books that release at the end of each season that could expand that season's story a bit farther. This could work as a great way of encouraging kids to read, cause most all shows that deal with reading (excepting a recent episode for a show we all know) only care about teaching kids how to read, not why to read. At least since the canceling or Reading Rainbow. :(
So yes, I'd say make a Daring Do series with a tie in book series. The genre is ripe for the picking, and adding books would also bring in huge revenue from educators alone.
Discord.
ReplyDeleteHave the Mane 6 go on adventures and/or fight evil with the power of the Elements of Harmony.
ReplyDeleteDoctor Whooves, Daring Do, Vinyl, Wonderbolts... I CAN'T CHOOSE!
ReplyDeletePretty sure this is just hypothetical y'all. But if it's not...
ReplyDeleteI'd say go for a slice of life show centered on the background chars. Ponyville is a "normal" town, with all sorts of random chaotic things happening periodically. No matter who all they focus on, something interesting is bound to happen, so why not have eps about each of them. We could see how they interact with each other as well as slowly start finding out about their backstories. We can assume that there'd probably be a core crew of ponies who show up the most (Lyra + BonBon, Carrot Top, Derpy, Vinyl, Octavia, Big Mac, the Cakes, Whooves, and so on), but there could easily be an ep about chars who are background characters even to the background characters (like the Flower Trio. The horror! The horror!). Most importantly, there should never be an ep focusing on the Mane 6 as that would completely defocus the point of the show. If anything, they'd become the background ponies in this show, intermittently showing up and causing/fixing situations for the main characters of the episode, but never becoming the focus themselves.
tl;dr - Slice of life with background ponies. Possibly with flashbacks and the like (in the style of Lost and Once Upon a Time although probably not as twisting/"epic" storyline). Used to flesh out the world a little further than it is now through side stories (similar to how Sonic Universe supplements the main Sonic comic or how Stargate Atlantis added to SG-1).
THE GRRRRRRRRREAT AND POWERFUL TRRRIXIE! I'd love to see her doing some epic adventure, but let's face it, the chance they pick her are like 1 in a bazillion.
ReplyDeletehow about spike i know his not a pony but come on a dragon that can shoot fire seems like a show for males if you ask me. something like spike goes off find who he is and why he hangs out with poines and in the end comes back to them sounds like a show to me
ReplyDeleteActually scrap that idea, I agree on the back ground spin-off series. 1 episode per pony. pure fun lol
ReplyDeleteI like Daring Do, but there has an overarching plot and expansion on her world and mythos, or I don't think it could work effectively. That would be their best shot outside of having the Mane 6 actually doing more adventures (which I would prefer) and showing off their abilities.
ReplyDelete@airmangamer
ReplyDeleteSounds like great idea too! With or without Pip, adventurous pirate-ponies would definetly fit for target audience (which I think we must consider in the first place, rather than our need for continuity :) )
@Yellow 13
ReplyDeleteDidn't read through it fully. Twilight and Spike could go one some adventure. Idk. maybe? hmmm...
wut?
The best stuff I have heard is The Wonderbolts and Daring Do. Considering it needs to have new "adventures" every episode or a 2 parts episode. But I personally just wants something that is just as good as FIM.
ReplyDeleteDaring Do would be the best choice. but they caouls wallways do something like Marvel Ponies best off of Marvel comics. Or star wars ponies LOL
ReplyDeleteA Trixie series. Though it would ideally be focusing on the young male population, that doesn't mean the main character can't be a female. Just look at Harry Potter.
ReplyDeleteThe series focuses around Trixie wandering around Equestria, putting on show after dazzling show with various levels of success and failure. Off-stage, however, it is apparent that the showmare thinks less about how highly of herself and more about less of others. The series revolves around how she is forced to learn how to trust others and open up, since that's the only way to truly survive in Equestria.
Inspired by TWEWY
And then I realize that this was supposed to focus on the young male demographic instead of bronies... Whoops?
ReplyDeleteIn that case, how about something with a new recruit in the Royal Guard as he learns how to fend off evil monsters from Equestria. Actually, make that Luna's Guard as they appear to be the secret agents of Equestria. Cue the gadgets and epic fights!
I vote for Trixie, It could be like some kind of troll series. Where she just goes from town to town and in the end messes things up!
ReplyDeletethere is just a problem with daring doo and dr.whooves... they all base on copyrighted stuff and i dont know if the dr who producers would let it happen without speaking a word too if the show would be for a pony called dr whooves. but would be fun, lets see what the fandom will do!
ReplyDeleteThere should be a mini series at the end of each episode kinda like Dexter's Lab. Where the CMC try to get there Cutie Marks ^^
ReplyDeleteGuard Ponies
ReplyDeleteAppeals to young males (military) - check
Ponies - check
Visit lots of places in the MLP Universe - check
Ponies - check
Possible interaction with background characters or mane 6 - check
Ponies - check
Probably a serious focusing on characters in the city. Vinyl, Octavia, other characters that would fit in a city setting. I think it would work having adventures in a city
ReplyDelete@Yellow 13 sounds like season 1 lol =P
ReplyDeleteDoctor Whooves!
ReplyDeleteFirst I would like to point out that I have never seen Dr. Who and I have very limited knowledge of it, though I know it is very popular.
ReplyDeleteSo, what about a Dr. Whooves thing where he has time-traveling adventures, he gets to traverse the lands during the unhappy-with-each-other-3-pony-groups, then witness (or be a part of?) Celestia/Luna's rise to power, witness/be a part of Luna's turn to evil and resulting banishment, maybe he'll be a part of Granny Smith's life when she's a little filly and her family has just left to settle Ponyville, and surely creative people can throw some other things in there? I think that would be really super cool :)
I guess my main point is through Dr. Whooves, us being able to witness the lore of the show, big events, that sort of thing. I can imagine it being rather action packed and dramatic. Not girly-show heart strings catty dramatic, but you know... dramatic.
Maybe we could see the real-life inspiration of Daring Do throughout Dr. Whooves travels? Having Derpy involved would be nice, too :)
Also, since I'm not sure how Dr. Who time travels or does whatever, maybe Dr. Whoove's cutie mark is more accurately depicted by a time-turner like Hermione's? Maybe he can go back and forth through time at will? Misadventures of meddling with time? Can he take people with him? Maybe he accidentally takes Derpy. Would that spare Dr. Whooves from copyright issues?
Make a series about Rainbow Dash joining The Wonderbolts. There's an entire new (male-dominated) cast, plus an excuse to have adventures across Equestria as makeshift superheroes. Sure, this would demote her role in the main series, but she deserves the extra attention.
ReplyDeleteIf you're going to base a series around a single character, the character needs to be strong, deep, and multi-faceted. Make him exceptional in one personality trait, flashes of brilliance in a few other personality traits, and give him a huge weakness too.
ReplyDeleteSome type of adventure/exploration/quest theme would probably work best for boys. Maybe trap the lead character in the distant past (medieval-era Equestria?) and have him try to get back to the present.
So for boys, hu? Make a season 4,5,6,7,8.... :D
ReplyDeleteAnother idea would be: "The adventures of star swirl" in his youth. He could be a student of a magic fighting school. Then get somehow an important quest (save the world or something more interesting) in which he makes new friends. And maybe creates the elements of harmony with them to defeat the ultimate evil/chaos (the father of discord? who knows... xD).
This would actually allow some "action", like "fighting" and "cool spells". And develop the history of mlp.
The Rainbow Dash Show. Rainbow Dash travels around the world has adventures stops bad guys, while acting awesome and cool, maybe 20% cooler.
ReplyDeleteDerpy would make an excellent side series. However Actually witnessing Discord's rule, then Luna and Celestia overthrowing him, and Luna turning into Nightmare Moon and Celestia banishing her to the moon would make an awesome short series. It would finally canonize things (like how long after forming Equestria did Discord take over and how long it took for the sisters to overthrow him) and it would be an awesome epic young boys already familiar with the show would enjoy. If you want silly go for Derpy, but I cast my official vote for the epic.
ReplyDeleteYounger male demographic? Snips and Snails maybe?
ReplyDeleteMaybe something about the background ponies, Whooves, Derpy, Lyra, Bon-Bon, Zecora etc except more dafter and with more slapstick.
ReplyDeleteI personally would love a Daring Do series
Maybe something focusing around the male members like what i described up top
Of course we could just have a crapcore hour involving ponies
Introduce us to Sea Ponies!
ReplyDelete@Yellow 13
ReplyDeleteOnly it could be set a bit further in the future, where Spike is older and has gotten his wings and Twilight could ride him, and they can do stuff, fight evil, something.
Sorry, I've been reading Inheritance lately.
a adventure series with daring doo would be really awesome
ReplyDeleteA Daring Doo-spin off would be great! But since only ONE mane character could make the episodes a little void of dialogue she could always have a side-kick with her. Like in the Adventures of Tintin or an episode of Doctor Who.
ReplyDeleteBasically I would think there are three possibilities:
ReplyDelete1) "slapstick" shorts starring Derpy Hooves. Possibly co-starring Doctor Hooves as her roommate / pseudo-foil. About five minutes per episode, "simple" stuff.
2) A Wonderbolts cartoon. A boy-oriented series would certainly be interesting, with a lot of action and recurring villians. As people said: GI Joe with ponies, basically. And: NO Rainbow Dash, she still is required for FiM and appearing in two series is a bit too much for our newest addition to the "egghead club" ;)
3) Daring Do. Indiana Jones-style adventures, expansion of early Equestrian /pre-Celestian era. Also possibly the introduction of a generally villianous faction (e.g. "Griphon Nazis").
I'd either like to see a story of Princess Luna, her trials as a princess BEFORE her banishment could be the opening series, and the progress she has to make to restore her to her full right and the travels she undertakes to foreign lands for diplomatic ventures. Or perhaps a fast forward story, of Spike as a more matured dragon, recounting to young ponies, all the adventures he had with the Mane 6 when he was younger
ReplyDeleteEither a Daring Do spinoff (now that we've seen the first story in the series, what are the rest?), or a Princess Luna spinoff (her readjustment to life in Equestria after having been imprisoned in the Moon for 1000 years).
ReplyDeleteDaring Do is probably better for this if they're trying to target younger males.
I would like to see a series that takes place back in the days of old with Celestia and Luna. I feel there's a lot of content regarding Equestrian lore that can be covered.
ReplyDeleteThe atmosphere can be gritty, judging from Luna's personality in Luna Eclipsed, it seems things were very different one thousand years ago.
Some stories that could be included are: Discord's chaotic reign, the battle against Nightmare Moon, founding of Equestria (a darker version of Hearth's Warming Eve), how the Alicorns came to be, and how Luna and Celestia came to power.
Actually I take that back, while Sea Ponies would be sweet, I want to see the Cakes having marriage turbulence with a lesson for little girls about the reality of divorce!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually good at these but I got nothing today.
ReplyDeleteSpike is the only male MAIN character. he also has the least amount of development next to Applejack.
ReplyDeleteyoung boys tend to be more sexist in defining their tastes in characters. The males who like MLP:FIM are either late teens or full-on adults, who are more mature than that.
Though picking a male lead would be pandering to the gender politics of adolescent males(LOL), it might be the only sure step we could make in gaining this target audience.
And with Spike, the show can be adventurous and male-oriented without having to stray too far from what's familiar to the main fandom.
I'm just sayin'
I think they should have a show that does a pony parody every week, with Daring Do and Doctor Whooves being the two major ones. Like one week could be Pony Rangers or something.
ReplyDelete@High Stream I agree with you on this. I'm imagining something similar to IGPX where they race against teams from other regions and fight. I mean they already do that whenever there's a rampaging dragon on the loose.
ReplyDeleteDo could possibly reveal areas that the mane6 could stumble upon and discover themselves during their adventures - hence why it would be dangerous.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, if they were to make side-series, I'd die to see them being short, few (3-10) episode long adventures with specific casts - canonical or not, I'm not sure. That'd satisfy everyone and would be, quite frankly, amazing.
Daring Doo, definately
ReplyDeleteYeah, Doctor Whooves would be just so awesome, but I doubt they will team up with bbc for this.
ReplyDeleteThe Incredible Big Mac! Don't make him angry.
ReplyDeleteWe already have a awesome/interesting history of equestria , just needs some more details so a side show resolving around the Princesses would be great.
ReplyDeleteDoctor Whooves and Derpy. 'Nuff said.
ReplyDeleteI WANT DARING DOO SERIES NOW
ReplyDeleteDARING DO OR NOTHIN!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFor a side story I would probably focus on Big Macintosh or Braeburn showing some misc adventures they would go on. Big Macintosh would be interesting since he has that "Gordon Freeman" appearance where his actions speak for him and at the same time he does speak, but he's a pony of few words.
ReplyDeleteWith Braeburn it would be tricky, but interesting having him exploring the wild west style Equestria.
In the end I would probably pick Big Macintosh for an epic journey.
A Daring Do show would be the obvious choice, but coming up with thrilling adventures each week might be a bit hard on the writers. I mean, if they want them to be *good*.
ReplyDeleteI'd suggest a show with Allie Way. Have her travel across Equestria as she (and perhaps her little brother or son, Strike?) competes in bowling tournaments all leading up to the final contest in Canterlot. There are TONS of sports-related anime shows from Japan that follow that kind of template. Advantages are that as a background pony, Allie's story can be built from scratch and not worry much about having to be in sync with the MLP:FiM continuity (except for the general Esquestrian concepts that any such show will inherent).
And my proposal has nothing to do with me being a rabid Allie Way fan. No, it doesn't! Really! Honest!
I'd I'd like to see Discord return, weakened enough for him to not be a threat anymore. Just a loveable rascallion instead of a lovable rascallion capable of twisting the world into a surrealist painting.
ReplyDeleteDaring Do would be awesome, but would probably become stale quickly. Thought some of the Pony episodes would be old, though, and was proved pleasantly wrong. If they want a mane 6, Rainbow Dash is probably the best bet; takes a little work in my head to remember she's a girl at times! As for overall best choice, I would say Spike would be a good choice. He acts like a young kid, so he could probably connect best with the demographic.
ReplyDeleteStill, gotta say a Daring Do adventure spin-off would be neat.
I think something set in Appleoosa, possibly starring Braeburn as the new deputy/sheriff, could be fun. Play it off as an episodic spaghetti western. Would allow for cameos when cousin McIntosh or Applejack show up, but the writing staff would have a nice buffer between Appleoosa and Ponyville that the risk of canonical subversion could be minimized. Every week Sheriff Silver Star sends his trusty Deputy Braeburn to lasso a band of donkey bandits, or clear the snake filled pass to the Tumbleweed homestead, or foil the mustachioed villain's plan to tie Stronghoof to the railroad tracks. After each adventure he saunters into the Salt Lick and relaxes, spinning yarns about his recently completed adventures.
ReplyDeleteDERPYDERPYDERPYDERPYDERPY
ReplyDeleteIf I were to make a side series, it would either be a project I am working on, wich has the working title: Airship Adventures.
ReplyDeleteBasically have ponies go on high adventure on an airship!
The other thing would be: "Starswirl the Bearded and the Knights of Equestria." which could be summond up to ponies meet the arthurian legend.
(you could do great action-figures with these!)
If it has to focus on a single pony Daring-Do or Starswirl would work fine, as well as Doctor Whooves, but he could run into copyright problems.
I get the feeling Daring Do's introduction into the series now was also a way for Hasbro to test the waters of a more adventurous character/side story that doesn't conflict with the Mane 6 while mirroring their attributes.
ReplyDeleteDD could work for sure. Add in an Applejack stand in (such as one of her relatives) that has a similar personality as AJ and skill-set, would be a great way to continue the dynamic set up with AJ and RD and continue their antics on awesome adventures. I really like the idea and I hope Hasbro is serious mulling a side story for some of these incredibly cool characters presented.
Definitely some sort of action hero type concept: Something similar to the concept of Doctor Whooves would be bound to attract the wanted attention, and it would also give us more chances to see past Equestria and other places such as Manehattan again.
ReplyDeleteOh, the possibilities...
Just need Derpy Hooves as the main character, I don't even care what its about to be honest.
ReplyDeletei whand to see how trixie became the pony we all know and how is her life after the ursa minor insident
ReplyDeleteunfornately,we all know that the ones who will win are either luna, daring doo or the cmc
seth,if this is fake, better run or else........
spitfire, i think spitfire would be awesome, or just for the hell of it vinal scratch. ooo how bout the cutiemark crusaders. Awesome
ReplyDeleteShoeshine needs more attention, Id go for something about her.
ReplyDeleteHere's another idea: Time-skip with Spike and Twilight. Have them traveling the world, meeting old friends, foes, so on and so forth. It's not like friendship has to be eliminated entirely...just a lot less cutesy stuff. I mean, not that I mind that. Ponies have made me a lot happier in the past year solely based on the cute factor.
ReplyDeleteEquestria by Night- Princess Luna, under secret orders from her sister, forms a dirty half-dozen of Equestria's misfits: Luna herself (mastermind, magic), The Great & Powerful Trixie (illusions), Flim & Flam (technology & fast-talking), Derpy Hooves (demolitions), and Gilda Griffin (aerial recon and muscle.) Together they are a black-ops team that tackles threats to Equestria that the general public just can't know about.
ReplyDeleteIt should focus on either Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Derpy Hooves, or Daring Do.
ReplyDeleteG.I Joe and/or Transformers crossover.
ReplyDeleteThat is all.
The adventures of Derpy Hooves and the rest of the BG ponies!
ReplyDeleteThe Adventures of Doctor Whooves, all the way.
ReplyDeleteTO THE MOOOOOOOOOONNNNAAAAAA
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteSide show. About Luna. Being away for 1000 years is alot to re-adjust to. Plenty of mistakes will be had, some funny as hell, others down right scarey I would imagine her being the Princess of the Night and all.
ReplyDeleteWell, when I read the post I was GONNA say I am perfectly happy with what we've got already and there's no need to deviate from the formula in an attempt to please fanboys specifically, since they're already doing a pretty good job of that!
ReplyDeleteBut on the other hoof, some of the posts in this thread aren't shabby ideas... Daring Do is good, Trixie is better, Celestia is awesome, Luna is BEST!
I agree. Derpy and Doctor Hooves. Traveling the world and instead of friendship lessons it would teach history with holograms to Celestia instead of letters. It would also explain the Derpy filly, Derpy in the snow globe, and other their other crazy appearances. It would be a spin-off off of MLP and Doctor Who. However they will need to get permission from the creators of Doctor Who. The first episode would be semi live action semi animation in the second part when the Doctor arrives in ponyvile. The show will also air on BBC mornings. It will be shown after MLP like Super Monkey in Dexters Lab. Please hub, this would be a great idea!
ReplyDeleteA Doctor Whoves Side series where Surprise is his companion.
ReplyDeleteI thought this would have been obvious, they should take a look at the better fanfictions out there, and see if they can do anything with those.
ReplyDeletethere's enough adventure to go around as far as I'm away, take the night's favored child for example, or the sweetie belle chronicles.
Grown up Pipsqueak the Pirate. Nuff said.
ReplyDelete- The Amazing Adventures of Derpy Hooves
ReplyDelete- Daring Do
- Daring Do + Derpy Hooves (+Carrot Top/Golden Harvest etc.)
- Series about the fight between Discord and Celestia and Luna (perhaps throw there Starswirl the Bearded if he was still around in their time)
I would inmediately pick Derpy and Dr. Whooves...but after reading a great number of comments, I would agree with a background ponies group, like the Mane 6 (Derpy, Dr. Whooves, Lyra, Bon Bon, Octavia, DJ Pon3) and to tell mini stories about them. That sounds fair :)
ReplyDeleteI think that this would be an amazing opportunity for the writers of the show to explain more of the history of Equestria and its origins without being restricted by the limitations of the slice-of-life style friendship letter episodes happening now.
ReplyDeleteI doubt it would be able to carry as many episodes as the current show, but it would be awesome as a smaller companion show, much like how the Sarah Jane Adventures was a companion to Doctor Who.
Nazi ponies :O
ReplyDeleteDaring Do is actually a present-day pony who writes her adventures under a pen-name as she is actually extremely modest and reclusive.
ReplyDeleteRainbow Dash susses the secret and confronts her asking to be brought on an adventure. Do refuses but Rainbow follows her on her next trip. Do reluctantly gains a companion who turns out to be a both a loyal friend and lifesaving sidekick.
Of course, Dash is sworn to secrecy about the whole thing, so apart from some unexplained holidays her life is unaffected.
Dont make stand alone episodes, keep an ongoing story with different arcs for each adventure.
Do will need a third, male, companion - I think an adolescent dragon would be perfect for the the intended demographic. Great care required with deciding a character for him though.
Keep the flash style, it's perfect and part of the franchise's identity. Bring in Faust to oversee. Try to keep the MLP wonder of a show that can be enjoyed on several different levels.
Try to come up with original content within the "treasure hunter" trope, if the show is an Indy re-run it won't be a success.
A side show about Rarity! make it happen!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh my...
ReplyDeletePersonally, I'd love to see more Daring Do. That was one of my favorite episodes ever, with lots of great action and neat things to see. Also, if they're going to target it at young boys, it would be an excellent choice, given how often during that episode I literally shouted "WHO SAYS THIS SHOW IS FOR LITTLE GIRLS?!"
Her hat needs to continue to be made of indestructinium, and basically be her Indy whip. she can use it like that spinny blade thing that Xena has or Captain America's sheild.
Ahuizotl and his army of cats needs to make more appearances, but it'd also be good if there were more villains too... maybe pony nazis or griffin commies or something.
Also, we need expys of the mane 6. A University Librarian at the college Daring works at as a teacher for Twilight... A rough and tumble country bartender for Applejack... A lounge singer that will act as a better made version of Willy from Indy 2 for Rarity... a shy wilderness guide for Fluttershy... and a kooky wrench-wench for Pinkie.
And there should be story arcs. Not just one problem per episode things, but maybe three-episode stories. Like Every three episodes she's in a new place doing something new.
And she goes ALL over Equestria. Seeing all sorts of new places and things. And given how much of a fantasy land Equestria is you could play with that SO MUCH. Floating islands, ancient castles, dungeons, Shangri La-ish places, cosmic plains...
And there has to be some sort of mythical connection to the artifacts she's finding, like they did in Jackie Chan Adventures. Like they're the ancient weapons of eight pony immortals or the ancient artifacts of pony demigods.
And you could go down the book series too. Now that you've introduced the Sapphire Stone, you could have the pilot Episode either be an expanded and more fleshed out Sapphire Stone with more character development following similar beats, or you could start off with Griffin's Goblet.
Mah vote for Daring Do!!
ReplyDeletewhait a minute....what about starswirl the beared?
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see early adventures in Equestria.
ReplyDeleteThe story following a group of adventuring ponies looking for the elements of harmony to help the princesses dethrone The embodiment of chaos, Discord.
Have them learn lessons about friendship in their epic adventures.
Big Macintosh when he was little.
ReplyDeletethis is easy, id say the wonderbolts xD its military its awesome and it could hint at rainbow from time to time
ReplyDelete@The Ugly Tuco
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a pretty cool idea make it like "Birth of Evil" from Samurai Jack. Show Equestria as a much more wild land back then still needing to be tamed
But from the looks of comments Daring Do seems to be the winner right now
How about Mysterious Mare-Do-Well?
ReplyDeleteOkay, okay, I know that it was just Dash's friends. And I know that the character came from one of the most controversial episodes in the fanbase's history. But really, most people are in agreement that the costume was kind of nifty, right? Besides that, Mare-Do-Well is a mask. When the Six stopped being her, anypony else could quite easily have donned the costume themselves. Personally, I could easily see it being the Crusaders, since two of them are sisters with the Six (one of them a sister of the one who made the costumes), and they screw things up enough to be comedically bad superheroes, like Darkwing Duck.
Since this is not a real thing, I don't think you should tag it as "news".
ReplyDeleteI don't really see a spin-off as being any good at this point. MLP has gotten into the full swing of things with season two. Spin-offs are better suited for when the popularity of a series starts to die down.
That said, I think we are the worst people to ask about making a spin-off for young males. We already love the show as is. In other words, we are too close to the source material. Shows targeted to young males are usually adventure shows with male leads. I'm not saying that it's not possible with ponies, but I think it requires a less biased group.
The other thing I might want to see is Princess Celestia and Princess Luna as two Xena-esque warrior princess battling mythological and horrific evils in early equestria, all decked out in armor and stuff, but I have less of an idea where that could go for very long...
ReplyDeleteI want an epic adventure with Trixie! Something kinda like Slayers, but in Equestria. They will have to include the Ursa Slave, of course.
ReplyDelete@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteWhat you said + what I said = Win.
@Onipolice
ReplyDelete...Wait this isn't a real thing?
*headdesk* Dammit, I thought when he said that Hasbro has come to us for ideas that he actually meant it.
Yeah, yeah, I'm that gullible sometimes >_<
Well now I just have a sad... and an embarrassed...
how about BG ponies in general?
ReplyDeleteWhat would the format be?
ReplyDeleteI've seen one instance that's been used in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic spinoffs. A four-issue arc highlights a story of a side character, in the same continuity of the main comic, and tells a story.
Let's apply that arc idea to a television perspective. We have a 2-4 episode arc highlighting a character (or group of characters) of them having an adventure, solving a problem, slice of life, etc. This opens up the room for a Lyra/Bonbon arc, Gilda Arc, Daring Do, Trixie, stuff about Dragons, the Princesses, all fitted into a series that appeases everyone.
If the BBC allows it then Doctor Whooves.
ReplyDeleteIf Not Daring Do
A Batman-inspired Mare Do Well series would be nice. Dark, gritty, with enough action to keep people watching.
ReplyDeletethe Derpy show Derpy goes on adventures with the doctor and gets into trouble trying to help the Doctor, Dinky has to come in and help Derpy ( kinda like inspector gadget)
ReplyDelete*LightBulb!*
ReplyDeleteTake one character from all the other Hub programs as well as MLP, and throw them into a colaboration!
Oh wait..
Change the characters of drawn together and make it more PG.
The answer is simple...Daring Do all the way!
ReplyDeleteI think a series about Derpy would be good, her life, adventures, etc. Focus on her life and why she is, well, Derpy. That's what I want to see. However, if you want to appeal to a young male audience, either do a Daring Do thing or something with Rainbow Dash, she's the least effeminate of the Mane 6.
ReplyDeleteDaring Do side series :) less "sweet" stuff more action and adventure! She should also have a male companion!
ReplyDeleteOr maybe a spin-off series with mane 6 in different setting (maybe an adventureous series).
ReplyDeleteWhat could be better then ponies in a post-apocalyptic wasteland? Fallout: Equestria is the perfect choice, it couldn't fail!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteIt's a series for young boys, not Bronies.
ReplyDeleteI mean, obviously it's for us, too, but anything that explores the complex political and historical aspects of Equestria is probably not an option.
Daring-Do is almost certainly the best way to go.
A lot of people posit that the series should be bookended Buzz Lightyear of Star Command style but I disagree.
What if Daring-Do's books were true stories, or interpretations of true stories (see "literary agent hypothesis" on TV Tropes)
Her adventures are going on right now. That way the Wonderbolts can come to her aid (or vice versa) and don't tell me it wouldn't be beyond awesome for Daring-Do to get special assignments from Princess Celestia or Luna.
OMG, just now as I was typing: What if Luna is the shadowy head of Equestria's Secret Service and Daring-Do does freelance work for her from time to time? It would require her to be more of a McGuyver figure than Indiana Jones, but considering all we've seen of her is about ten minutes of storybook footage, I don't think her profession is set in stone yet.
Anyway, basically unlimited potential there. I (personally) would really prefer her to be "real" as opposed to "story within a story" just because I find it hard to invest myself emotionally in a character that's double-fictional, but the idea that Hasbro might do this is awesome regardless.
I would love to watch a Daring Do show.
ReplyDeleteIf they did set it in Discord's time period they could make use of some pretty epic fan-music about him...
ReplyDeleteThey could make a contest for people to enter for their music to star in the show, thus getting the rights to it...
Daring do would be nice
ReplyDeletebut what if they do a rainbow dash show where she goes across equestria and meets Daring Do?
and they have adventures togehter in some episodes
this way, we have both
Hmmm, so young male demographic...
ReplyDeleteWell a Daring Do series would be fun and awesome, there is the problem of licensing due to the similarities to Indiana.
I think it should be a world exploring series around a mix of old and new characters.
1. Trixie - Searching for old secrets and magic artifacts (still prideful and boastful but she needs that to evolve as a character)
2. Gilda - Griffon with an attitude, will she get along with the others. Too cool for everyone, etc.
3. Lets throw a dragon in there(not spike) he jsut wants to be the hero and explore(main character material??)
4. Kung fu character from the land of cats? or other type of mystical beast.
Then insert crossovers with mane 6 so you get more viewers back to FIM.
OR you can make a mare-do-well (darkwing/batmanisque) spin-off with .... new main character and trixie as sidekick??
It depends on so much though. Would a Daring Do show have longevity? I mean, how many different traps and temples could she experience before it gets old? I think it would be good, but there's a reason Indiana Jones is in movie format. That sort of story works best that way.
ReplyDeleteDoctor Whooves would be better, but copyright and all that. This is also where they'd have to decide what sort of show they want. Do they want to expand the world? Have someone who goes to other cultures and locations more frequently?
Other times? Build on the world or, like Daring Do, create a whole new one?
Do they make it a male main character, knowing current fans will watch regardless and that a male main character may draw in more new viewers of that target audience?
In the end, I think something like a guard pony, maybe one of Luna's, and the adventures he, and friends, have. This would also allow some crossover with the Mane 6 and co.
Or maybe Daring Do, but she does more generic adventures and less Indiana Jonesesque.
Sir Spike the Adventurer
ReplyDeleteSir Spike, warrior without fear
He's more powerful than any pony
His legend spreads across the land and sea
Sir Spike, the mightiest warrior ever! His quest, to undo the spell of living stone cast upon the Mane 6, by driving the evil Diamond Dogs back underground and vanquishing their leader, the cruel wizard David Bowwowie!
Sir Spike the Adventurer
Sir Spike, dragon of bravery
With his magic lance protecting
The mightiest of warriors is he
Feel the power!
A show about RD reading Daring Do.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be cool if it followed some of the more minor characters. Maybe a show about Young Granny Smith or Trixie isn't going to happen, but it'd be neat. I'd prefer it to be about some of the 'real' ponies, though, rather than a pony in a book.
ReplyDeleteWhile I DEFINITELY vote for the P.I Trixie idea and love to see more of the Imperial Guards (maybe the story about a rookie guard and how he learn about comradeship and such)I agree with airmangamer idea about focusing on Pipsqueak. We all wnat him to join the CMC but maybe he is out there having adventures with MALE friends, a concept that the show has been eluding since the start (guys have friends too, Hasbro! and FEMALE FRIENDS for that matter...).
ReplyDeleteAfther reading "Fixing Smartypants" my personal head-canon has Doctor Whooves and BigMac as best friends and I would LOVE to see THAT on the show someday.
I would say Daring Do following her on various adventures that she would have. Either that or put Rainbow Dash in some adventure situations.
ReplyDelete@Down2Earth I take back my previous vote, Spike all the way!
ReplyDeleteNormally, I would jump at "Doctor Whooves", but i know that the BBC are Nazis when it comes to copyrights. But Daring Do would be equally epic!!
ReplyDeleteI'm all for a few of Daring Do's adventures. Even though she doesn't have a lot of screen time, I really like her personality and I think she would make a fun main character.
ReplyDeleteDaring would need a sidekick though, and I can't help but think a young Derpy would fit perfectly. Bumbling little tyke that she is, she always knows the perfect moment to crash a jeep through the wall and help Daring escape.
Also, make a few episodes about the CMC.
ReplyDeleteThey should make a Pony-version of The Wire, with the Mayor and the royal guards. *pokerface*
ReplyDeleteHey, do you send the ideas to Hasbro in any way? How?
ReplyDeleteHmm, for a spin off, the best candidate right now would be Daring Do. Though I can see the Wonderbolts, Commander Hurricane, or an aspiring Gaurd work well too. As would need a more action/adventure feel to it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a "fantasy football"-type post, right, Seth?
ReplyDeleteYou might want to make that clearer in your opening blog statement, since some of your readers are, well, prone to take things literally.
And that being said: here's my pitch: Wonderbolt Academy.
It writes itself, really.
Daring Do. End of discussion.
ReplyDeleteYep, throwing my hat in the ring for Daring Do series, all presented under the context that each episode is another of the Daring Do series of books.
ReplyDeleteI'm imagining each episode beginning with a book, the cover of which depicts the title of the episode and tiny visual hook, just like the one at the top of this page. Then the book cover flips open, pages flip, and camera zooms in on the flipping pages until the animation is flipped to, and then the episode begins, depicting whatever daring adventures she's doing.
Hell, they could have an unseen Rainbow Dash or Twilight Sparkle be the narrator setting up each episodes context and conclusion at the beginning and ends of the episode, as if they were the reader of the book we never see, and the story only happens because it is being read and imagined by the readers, much like the viewers watching and hearing the story might imagine it if it was only being read to them.
Pony reference to the Mane 6 tying it to the main franchise? Check. Interesting, open-ended story premise, built perfectly to suit episodic and non-continuity based show with wide variety of episode concepts being available? Check. Freedom to have a TON of old cartoon adventure shows (like Johnny Quest) and Indiana Jones style adventure movie references, and further freedom to parody them Venture Brothers style. Heck, in the episode, Daring Do already parodied several classic temple raid and adventure tropes, like when she swiped the statue off the pedestal so casually after the tense build-up, or the ridiculousness of the death trap she escaped from. The potential is there in spades.
I would watch this, so long as they really fleshed out Daring Do's character and didn't just make her an Indiana Jones clone. Imagine how interesting this female character with initiative and adventure lust could be in a show premise that usually reserves the dangerous escapades for male roles. Think of it like the conflict in that Adventure Time episode Fiona and Cake. I would love to see that spin-off made.
Have Daring avoid the "sappy" trappings of the stereotypical female character, while still maintaining an effeminate nature (basically Rainbow Dash, in a lot of ways, or maybe a Fugiko kinda gal) would probably serve to not only build a good, memorable character but bridge the gap to appeal to that younger male audience and still appeal to adult humor, much like MLP already does.
It could work, if handled properly, and again, if they put a LOT of effort into developing Daring Do's personality, slowly revealing more and more about her character until the inevitable conclusion of the Daring Do book series, something to the effect of "Daring Do's Final Chapter", where-in we can have a finale where reoccurring villains are handled, whatever primary desire that drives Daring Do's character to adventure is resolved, and they can either present a final cathartic conclusion to Daring Do's adventure "happily Ever After" style or do the BETTER choice and leave it an unresolved set-up for further adventuring, as though even though this arc in Daring Do's great adventures is over, the viewer is left to imagine what's still to come.
I would watch this. Hell, it may even happen!
I think a Daring Do show would be pretty cool. Or any kind of adventuring pony series really. Maybe involve the Wonderbolts. They were called in to help when Spike 'grew up' so maybe they could function as 'superhero' types. Or some cool new unicorn. I think all the unicorns are cool. Oooo! Maybe it could be about this Shining Armor and/or Cadence.
ReplyDeleteNon-serious: Dan vs. MLP
ReplyDeleteSerious Idea #1: It'd be cool To have the stage set in a different town like appleloosa (spelling?) where one of the characters we have seen before has been relocated to the town and could send his/her own letters to princess Luna (*hint-Pip-hint*). What'd make it better would be snips and snails moving there as well causing their own forms of chaos while Pip and Little Strongheart work together to solve the problem. Think of Disney's "Recess" but in a western town with ponies and buffalo"
A second idea would be to expand on Cartoonist's mentioning of Star-swirl the bearded. It'd be could to see what troubles lay in medieval Equestria with his forced apprentice, Young Woona, at his side. I'm pretty sure you can find tons of action and stuff that could connect to the present day Equestria the mane 6 live in, like the creation of the everfree forest and the types of foreign magic done by non-unicorns (Zebras).
As cool as Daring do would be, it's still going to be hard to promote a female pony main character (no matter how awesome she may be), to a demography of young males. Then again, It depends if Faust uses her alicorn powers for this one as well.
I would love to see a show about Spike. This would need to be set several years in the future enough to where Spike can handle himself but not to much so that he's so huge and powerful he can solve any problem. The mane six have grown old (or possible have died) and Spike now serves Celestia personally as a warrior or ambassador. You could even throw in the Main six's descendants (probably colts since this is targeting a male audience). Instead of using friendship, Hasbro could focus more perhaps on something like brotherhood instead of tolerance it could understanding. I'd love to see Spike go around settling disputes, meeting diplomats and learning life lessons in the process. This allows for a lot of world building, different characters and an array of locations. Plus dragons, not many things cooler that a dragon.
ReplyDeleteDaring Do would be awesome. Hell throw in the intro for each episode being Dash settling down to read and narrating.
ReplyDeletei quite like the idea of a shot forward to the cutie mark crusaders later on, seeing how their characters develop, what sorts of talents they have and what sort of relationship they keep as they get older
ReplyDeleteI've recently started writing the first of a series that could work as a side series. It follows a former rival of the Wonderbolts, the Red Hawks, who are attempting to regain their former glory. The series takes place mostly in Ponyville but starts in a distant town some of the main characters come from, so the subject of how one deals with new things in a new place comes up a bit.
ReplyDeleteThe first 4 chapters of 'Return of the Red Hawks' is on FIM Fiction (http://www.fimfiction.net/story/6006/Return-of-the-Red-Hawks) for those interested and I could use some feedback on it.
I would do one based around Trixie schemeing up plans and learning spells to get back at Twilight which would be used to build up to her return in the main series. Thats how I'd do it anyway.
ReplyDelete@Johnny RobinsonSo the A-team, with Ponies... It could work.
ReplyDelete@kris
ReplyDeleteTop Gun. You say Wonderbolt Academy, I think excuse for a shitload of really good Top Gun references.
definitely daring do or rainbow dash... Or rainbow dash going on an adventure of daring do proportions, she goes exploring, finds some temple, runs into trouble, narrowly escapes, makes off with some treasure and an awesome story to tell the other five
ReplyDeleteDaring Do going across Equestria in a manor similar to Indiana Jones or The Librarian would be beyond epic. Perhaps gathering powerful artifacts for Princess Celestia and Luna?
ReplyDeleteCould have a thrilling amount of new plot twist and villains for the peaceful lands of Equestria.
WE SHALL SEE
For all of those who want a Doctor Whooves Series, I'm going to have to present a GIGANTIC Roadblock: Basically, Hasbro needs to get the BBC's Permission before they could even DREAM of using the Doctor Who Concept. and if they DID Get the BBC's Blessing, I hope they have David Tennant on Speed Dial.
ReplyDeletepipsqueak and dinky!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI vote for a spin-off series with Luna, specifically the two sisters, but since can only pick one.
ReplyDeleteOther than Celestia she's really the only character that can get angry and is allowed to. Celestia, is a little more curbed in that area, except when Discord shows up.
Which honestly the setting would be best in the time of Discord before they find the elements. Then you actually have a conflict a young male could get into. Discord being the bad guy and early Equestrian's with the princesses being the good guys.
I think that's really the only way you could attack this idea. Question would be does the series end when Discord is defeated or when Luna gets banished?
The whole fall to Nightmare Moon would probably be jarring to a fan. From Hero to villain by the end of the series.
definitely daring do or rainbow dash... Or rainbow dash going on an adventure of daring do proportions, she goes exploring, finds some temple, runs into trouble, narrowly escapes, makes off with some treasure and an awesome story to tell the other five
ReplyDeleteA series based around Equestria Daily, a newspaper situated in the town of _________.
ReplyDeleteThe cast will be ponyfied EqD members.
A pony talk show could also work. Derpy could be the host and basically screw up on interviews and stuff. Also, a Daring Do series can also work.
ReplyDeleteA Dr. Whooves spin-of, they just need to get permision from the BBC, and get some Sci-fi writers and BOOM!... I will die happy.
ReplyDeleteWhatever storyline or character they choose, they need to recruit Martin "Littlekuriboh" Billany for some voices.
ReplyDeleteAn animated series of Rainbow Dash reading the Daring Do stories. Kind of like how they worked it in the original episode, except where Dash isn't always getting interrupted by the other Mane 6.
ReplyDeleteAnother idea would be for a series revolving around Star Swirl the Bearded teaching Clover the Clever, they could make something like how Disney did The Sword in the Stone. (Then Clover would become something like King Arthur and maybe face off against Discord)
As long as it involves an adventure around Equestria, allowing us to see the world and learn its history, I'd dig it.
ReplyDelete
