A question. Every fic says Scootaloo can't fly, was it ever said in actual series that she can't fly?

Now that was an nice bit of light reading. Personally I liked the premise of Dash showing Scootaloo Cloudsdale on the grounds that this is effectively a part of Scootaloo's heritage as a pegasus. It makes for a nice angle on portraying Dash as Scootaloo's mentor, and the idea of the pegasi having their own unique cultural history in Equestria as fliers is certainly an idea worth exploring further.

ReplyDeleteIt's never been said in canon that Scootaloo cannot fly, but at the same time, Scootaloo has never been seen full-on flying. When she has used her wings, she's either been dragging her hooves along the ground, or simply delaying the effects of gravity for a few seconds longer.
But no, there's nothing in canon that says she cannot fly. She could take to the skies in the next episode as if it were nothing for all we know.
Anyway, this was a nice read, well worth the time

It's a nice piece of Scootalove, But I can't get Rainbow Factory out of my mind, Especially during the part when they're at the rainbow factory.

ReplyDeleteVery cute fic. Scootaloo and Dash have a relationship just begging for development in the show. I hope they get to it and make it a little something like this. Although with a little more, shall we say, growing pains. I picture Rainbow developing into the bonding role after initially rejecting Scoots.
ReplyDeleteMy only real complaint about this fic was that Dash seemed just a little OoC. Otherwise, great job. Seeing the sights of Cloudsdale in all it's splendor was fun reading. It's still by far the most interesting locale in FiM.

ReplyDeleteGreat story! I was half-expecting a bit at the end where Dash let Scoot "fly" (glide/fall) a few hundred feet on the way down, to top it all off. Don't know why, it feels like it would make a good bit.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this story. It was a nice slice of life. I think the show would benefit from this type of relationship between Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash. It sweet and really lifts ones spirits.

ReplyDeleteThere's also the fact that Scootaloo's wings are proportionally much smaller that those of the adult pegasi, suggesting that they're either underdeveloped or simply haven't fully grown in yet.
That, plus it makes for a really great story, as has been demonstrated numerous times. I hope that the show writers have picked up on this particular bit of fanon; it's one of my personal favorites and there's definitely potential for an episode centered around the subject.
