I should stop going crazy making assumptions about episodes that haven't aired yet. I'll just wait to see what pans our instead of getting dissapointed because of the hype I created for myself not getting met.

the title and first sentence of this post threw me at first. I thought Seth was going to talk about discontinuing the roundup posts on the blog. then i remembered aj had an episode coming up. oops.

I still think this would be the perfect opportunity to show what happened to Applejack's parents. Perhaps AJ goes to some memorial she has set up for them, and her friends have no idea of its existence?
I dunno. That's just what I want, not what's going to happen.
Hmm, If I may Speculate? There are only three scenarios that would work, given the shows demographic and what has already been done. AJ could either run with the rodeo, run away from home, or simply get lost. Running from home is unlikely, as she is seen as a down-to-earth pony (ha, small unintended pun), leaving little room for that. Running simply from home is just as unlikely, due to the same reasons. Getting lost, however, I can see. Maybe she gets tired and naps on a cart. She is known to participate in the rodeo.

Oh, free will, I think. My guess is that a cowgirl like her would want to be part of a rodeo and do any silly thing to join up.
The title and the few little bits of info they've released about this episode give me a feeling somehow that this is going to be a more dramatic and sad episode.

ontopic: A rodeo? I thought a roundup was more like herding cows etc? And why is it the last one? Is the rodeo going out of business, and Applejack wants to be part of it, and forgets to tell anyone, and everyone else assumes she was kidnapped or something? I could see that.
Teach a lesson about not making assumptions, right?
Prediction: Any fic involving the fate of the apple parents will be contradicted by 'last roundup'

That is truly the best way to handle it! Don't make any assumptions about an episode. Just be patient and let yourself be surprised by what happens. :)
Just keep in mind this is supposed to be a funny show for kids. It helps narrow down the possible scenarios.

Just a thought, but there was an episode in G1 where three little fillies went to a concert and then were asked to try out by the singer's manager for the show, and then turns out the manager is evil and pony-naps the fillies and he is working for a big dark monster who eats shadows.
What if this is a take on that kind of story? AJ Goes to a rodeo, meets her idol, and the manager of said idol asks her to try out. But he is working for some big bad monster, and the Elements of Harmony have to go and rescue AJ.
Then again this is just wishful thinking on my part XD
