A few pony communities are trying win various competitions, but need assistance to do it!
First off we have the My Little Pony Reddit page. From what multiple people (Including their moderators) have told me, they got shafted on a "Best Community of 2011" poll, and ended up in the "Large Community" section against stuff that completely decimates their numbers. They are asking for your help!
Head on over to this page, register for an account, and hit the upvote arrow to cast your vote for /r/mylittlepony.
And on the other side of the pond, or series of tubes, we have the IMDB Friendship is Magic page. Right now they are sitting at 8.9 with ~4,700 ratings. In order to hit the top TV show list, they need at least 5,000, and if they want to be the best of the best of all time, they need around 25k.
Hit up this page to vote! You will need an account, but IMDB is pretty useful anyway so might as well get one!

I'd be happy with Top 3, but I'm sure most of us would agree that it would be preferable to finish in first for the small community category than not be placed at all in the big community category.

Hmm, not really a Reddit user myself. And I can't honestly say I'd vote for them in a best community poll. But sucks to hear they got put into an improper section against larger communities. They have some 10k plus people I thought. Those other communities must be pretty large.
As for the IMDB pony page, I'm sure they're going to hit the 5k mark now. lol For the 25k, not sure. If everypony who visited EqD voted for them, they'd certainly achieve their 25k votes. :)

I love ponys, and I love reddit, but would absolutely not vote for the /mylittlepony/ subreddit. The mods are terrible and biased. The community is stuck up, and the solution to all of their problems is creating new subreddits, further splitting the community every time.

Just so you guys know, IMDb has a really weird system for putting things on their lists of top whatever, so just because something has a high rating and enough votes doesn't necessarily mean it will get on the list.
Unfortunately, IMDB only lets residents of the United States of America rate movies. Which is bloody ridiculous.
IMDB will just lock the page if you try to encourage fans to vote it up like that. It has happened before.

My uncle off-handedly mentioned his $12,000 gain in stocks ('just the other day') with more umph than this post.
Each previous post about polls to conquer left me with a feeling that made me want to go vote. This one was rather 'meh'.
Or maybe it's my inherited sense of American apathy. But I'll cross that bridge when I figure out when it's going to be built. You know, whenever.

Actually, there is no such thing as spamming because everything is weighted there. Your vote is worth more if you have food ratings. Look at Planet Earth, #1 on the list. It's a 9.7. Now click on the "24,924 Users." Under the stats, it says, "Arithmetic Mean = 9.3" That's unweighted. The critics have the most effect on the ratings.
Now I'm being completely honest here. I've yet to find a single TV show on the site that has higher unweighted rating than MLP. The Wire is 9.3, Arrested Development: 9.4, Leyla: 9.5, Sopranos: 9.2, Seinfeld: 9.1, Futurama: 9.1, and so on. Sure, the weighted rating of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is 8.9, and that's still a decent rating and everything. But look at its unweighted rating. It's a 9.7. It's WAY off the charts. Who are the ones who are holding us back? The critics are.
We're already at an unfair position now. Face it, no matter how fascinating the show is, the critics over the age of 40 (mostly male) are not going to give a high rating to a show titled, "My Little Pony." They're going to find one thing they don't like about it, (most likely only watching the pilot episodes) and use that as an excuse. Look at the male critics ratings over 40. It's at 5.7. Now look at the female ratings. Its a 9.9. Big difference.
But we are the ones outside that social stigma that actually bothered to give it a chance. But all the sudden, we're the guys that don't count. Bullshit. Now we gotta stuff a shitpile of votes to make up for that. So do it. They're the ones that are wrong.

Except that's how polls are SUPPOSED to work. When a poll is posted, people vote on what they want to be the winner, simple as that. We aren't cheating. We aren't being unfair. We are just voting and sometimes we happen to win.
This isn't poll raiding. It's our community speaking out on what we think should win.

Look, these are POLLS. The very definition is that they want the public's opinion. It just happens that an abnormally large group all share the same opinion on something.
It'd be like not voting for Obama or Ron Paul becuase you think there are too many people voting for him already.
It doesn't matter if we stuff the ballots. We vote for them because we genuinely want them to win. If the rest of the internet thinks that's cheating, then they need to deal with it.

@ultrarare That's not quite it. Let's use the upcoming presidential election as an example. Say there was a poll, and you only showed the poll to people you knew were going to vote for Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney would come out on top, but it doesn't show what the majority of the population actually believes.
That's what a poll is supposed to be. You find out the view of the whole by taking a sample of data from a part, by showing it to as many different types of people as possible.

So it's bronies' fault if the only ones who vote for it are bronies? If they didn't get their message out to other people who vote for other things, that's their problem, not ours.
@Linkeh24 But this was done in a vote. A poll shouldn't let anyone vote, you have the pollsters (who presumably are neutral) pick a random sample of people.
The pollster goes to the people you don't let the people go to the pollster. We use the term internet poll but it's not a true poll.

EXACTLY! It proves nothing. So what's the harm in having a little fun with the ballots and taking advantage of our large numbers? We don't hurt anyone, and I always get a chuckle out of posts labled "CHAAARGE" because it makes me think of the Soldier from TF2.

@Railgun This! If you go on the top rated shows of all time, you've got things like Game of Thrones with almost 90'000 votes. If we want to get even close to that, we need every last one of us to vote. Being on the top list of the best TV series' would be good publicity and could attract more viewers. (Hurray for doing Hasbro's dirty work for them!)

I'm not apart of many fandoms, but hat being said the brony fandom has definitely been my favorite. When it come to things like voting though, this is definitely not the case. I love it whenever I see a poll or something on Equestria Daily or a Zelda fan site per say, in the Zelda one though I've noticed a lot less complaining. No oh this is so wrong, what dos this prove, or this is like begging for example. Not to say there aren't any but far less to be sure.
Sorry bronies who don't complain every time they see a poll here it just annoys me to see people say oh how low of you to vote for something you believe is best. Again please excuse my rant because in the end I love all you bronies!

1. Make an account on reddit and sign in.
2. Go to http://www.reddit.com/r/Bestof2011/comments/ouzvj/final_round_best_big_community/c3k91fx
3. Click on the upwards pointing gray arrow to the left of the post that says "/r/mylittlepony"
I hope this works out, I don't see alot of improvement on either page.
