Lesson Zero was where it all started for me. I think I would have become a brony anyway, but I think Twilight's deranged antics during that episode made it happen that much quicker. Granted, I didn't get a look at it until a few weeks after it aired, but once I saw it, there was no avoiding the inevitable.

Lesson Zero is probably in my top 3 favorite episodes, but the classic breakdown has still got to be Pinkamena.

Speaking of polls, how are earth ponies failing so miserably in the new poll? Sure, Unicorns have magic, and pegasi have the ability to fly, but earth ponies have TECHNOLOGY *cue epic music, fireworks, etc*. And fewer limbs to break. But I digress.

That's all of the ones I can think of at the moment. I'm sure that there are other awesome ones that I'm not aware of, though.
I still went with Pinkamena, it still scares me a little to think what would happen if Pinkie loses her mind again, but that may be due to Cupcakes.. yeah.
Fluttershy's breakdown causes lightning, that's pretty sweet. But I suppose Twilight's is rather amusing and Pinkie's is pretty sad. I don't think Rarity's and Applejack's count though. Rarity just overreacts (as always, but that's why we love her), Applejack's was just part of her normal personality.
I just wanted to say again how awesome I think it is that you guys used my idea for this poll. I also wanted to say I'm not surprised at the results. It was pretty epic and hilarious seing Twilight lose her mind in that episode. But allow me to try and change some minds out there for those of you who are undecided. @archiveit I will concede that Pinkie's breakdown was funny. Nothing says crazy like a party with dust bunnies and such. But there's something about Twilight progressively going bonkers that beats Pinkamena any day. I mean, she got the whole town to go nuts over the Smarty Pants doll. All because she was so desperate for report material. Just my thoughts, which are not necessarily correct. LOL

The ammount of crazy faces alone made her breakdown the best. But then you add the subtle gesturs like her ear twitching and her teeth grinding, etc. It was just so absurd and comical that it ensured Twilight's spot as my second fav pony.

I found the entirety of Lesson Zero (except the end) to be full of narm. It was painful.
I voted Pinkie because she actually retained my sympathy during her breakdown. Much more depth to that episode.

Ah, that would be Suited for Success. A greated episode on its own, if I may say. And that was why Rarity got my vote. Nobody breaks down like a moviestar; just ask Charlie Sheen. And who else is so good at breakdowns, that they always have a fainting couch within magical grabbing distance?
@AH I'm all for this one. Though I haven't been in this long enough that there's one song I would suddenly start singing. My sister would go for "Giggle At The Ghosties," even though she skips entire verses.

While your favourite episode is Lesson Zero, Seth, for me it's the worst episode ever and even worse than Cutie Pox or Luna Eclipsed because of how over the top and shallow the characters were.
I still think Pinkie's breakdown was the most frightening thing I've seen in a children's show in a long, long time

@wackypony OK, maybe I'm not that freaked out. Tell me you'll strap me to a chair and make me watch the Direct TV help channel on loop, and then I'll be freaking out.
Sanity is overrated.
I loved Psycho Twilight so much, and just like Pinkie's breakdown I think it made the character that much more endearing. There's something charmingly tragic about the lengths that she pushes herself to meet expectations and how spectacularly it can all come collapsing down upon her when she fails. She's a pony who puts insane amounts of pressure on herself... that it was such a seemingly little thing that broke her seems so apt. Especially when you consider it was her own organizational skills that failed her by forgetting she had a lesson due, and not anything that was entirely out of her control.
I also think it had the most important Friendship lesson of this season, and perhaps of the show itself... Notice when someone you know is having trouble coping with a situation, and don't let it escalate into tragedy before you're moved to reach out and help. There aren't too many shows that can tackle a subject that includes everything from suicide to school shootings that subtly.
@Harwick Applejack. She's my least favorite of the mane 6, but I actually think she would be well suited for something like that.
I found this a tough one to choose between PsychoTwi and Pinkamena.

I haven't been in the majority vote since the "Best Stallion" poll. Personal preference pushed me to vote for Flutterage here. In my opinion, that was a better break of character than Twilight's was. I always took Twilight's ridiculously organized personality to be the kind that could easily snap like what we saw.
Of course, this is not to say that I didn't like Lesson Zero. I've loved every episode of Season 2 thus far.

I'm a fan of Applejack myself, but I see where you're coming from. She's a bit too much like Twilight as a (normally) stable character rather than a zany supporting one. It's easier for her to play the straight man (mare) in any group/comedy dynamic.
I think the toughest thing about spinning off a show with Applejack as the lead is that, out of all of the cast, she seems the one most anchored to the current setting and style of the show. Other ponies you could move to a new location, but after her Cutie Mark story how do you make Applejack leave the farm?
Not that I'd personally object to simply more of the same from a spin-off, but usually they go for some kind of new setting or set-up.

I like many other episodes of Season 2 thus far, but Lesson Zero is the most entertaining. That mental breakdown was way too much fun for nobody to really enjoy.
Meh, Pinkie's had more depth. Twilight's was just a parade of funny faces.
Had to go with Twilight because it entertained for a whole episode. Flutterrage was fantastic, particularly the diabolic laugh, and Pinkamena was cute too. But watching either for 15 minutes would have been sad, rather than funny.
Love the song poll idea, but we might want to limit the list to the shorter ones. I think we already know Winter Wrap-Up and At the Gala are hits.

Lesson Zero was a rather bizarre experience for me, having to watch the character I most identify with becoming deranged. It certainly didn't help that I myself was stuck on an assignment when the episode was released. 0_o
Nonetheless, the absurd nature of Twilight's mental breakdown had me laughing like a mad man. (Damn, I'm mean.) Naturally, I had to go with PsychoTwilight on this one. Lesson Zero FTW
