I have resisted reading the story Cupcakes for a very long time... I was doing so well too... But now it has been read... That was a very horrible, scary, twisted story... I never ever want to read it again... I never want to remember it ever again... I almost cried. That was a horrible story. Who would make such a twisted and sick story? Pinkie Pie would never ever do such a thing. Pinkie Pie, I love you. But don't worry everypony. I have recovered.

And why are we talking about grimdark fics? My $.02 = Cupcakes was really disturbing. SAM didn't phase me much because it felt like the author was trying to hard to be shocking but didn't know how to convey it. Cupcakes knew how to pace itself so that you dwell on every gruesome moment.

I don't know how or why this is relevant to the thread, but since were discussing the topic. I have not read the stories in question, nor do I ever plan to. But I find the idea of them to be fascinating. All the great stories, tv shows, movies have 1 thing in common: people talk about them. The only thing good stories have in common with bad stories. The worst thing you can say about something is that you don't remember anything about it. Example: I watched the hangover part 2 the other night, and 2 hours later, I kid you not, I could not remember the name of the guy they were looking for. I can't help thinking I would have remembered it was a better movie. honestly, I'd like to meet the guy who wrote these things, just so I could see what he's thinking. In my opinion, this guy is either a genius, or he's worse than hitler. Wish we could have a thought balloon over his head. It's like when you look at a dog, you know? What's he thinking? Is it just like dog thoughts, or is it real thoughts, like "Hey were out of, you know, stuff a dog needs?"

@Mint Baker The thing about Rainbow Factory that I think really sets it apart and made it more disturbing to me than any of the others mentioned here is that it was actually well written and had an interesting story with a legitimate plot. It had a beginning, middle, and end, that actually sucked me into the story and right up to the end it let's you hold onto that sliver of hope that things might turn out OK, before dashing those hopes against the rocks.
But #2 was just bucking amazing!! Congratulations The Living Tombstone and Yelling Cats, you've just managed to squeeze a song into my EXTREMELY limited rap folder.
