Mock Equestrian Wars is a browser game project to create an active time turn-based strategical game that functions in a MMO format based on the premise of a “mock war” or “battle reenactment”. Drawing inspiration from well known games like Fire Emblem and Advanced Wars, the game will divide players into two opposing sides. The game will offer three different styles of game play. Players will be either able to control a squad of ponies on a large game map, be a Captain supporting the squads under their command, or even a Commander deciding the logistics of the war.
All players will work together to complete objectives that further their side’s goal to win the game while making them into the pony that always wanted to be. From battling other players in skirmishes that will act like a tactical battle from the aforementioned game series, to constructing buildings on the battle field like “field hospitals” and “fortifications,” every pony must work together to win. The game aims to do all this while maintaining the atmosphere of comedy, teamwork, non-lethality, and fun that is embodied in the MLP:FIM show.
While we are still in the early planning stages we have a lot of the game mechanics hashed out and are ready to start preliminary development of the game itself. We are looking for HTML 5, Javascript, and php programmers as well as artists and people interested in game design to help us hammer down the details and keep everything balanced.

I was one of the people who submitted that link, but I don't know how many others did as well.
There's been a few minor pony references prior to this (including a FiM-style version of a toy pony in the story in one of the albums), but this is the first time the show has been actually acknowledged. Of course, considering the character who's room it is and the nature of the author himself, it is quite possible that the reference is purely ironic. Guess we'll just have to wait and see if Hussie decides to comment or expand on it.
