In all seriousness though, I voted for Sisterhooves Social, but MDW is one of my favorite episodes because we get to explore a side of RD that we don't normally get to see (like they tried to do in Sonic Rainboom before they buried it under an epicness sandwich made of epicness between 2 slices of toasted epicness with a side of epicness fries).

having just rewatched it just now, i can say that between the writer literally bashing our skulls in with how Dash was acting and the fact the other mane six were utter dicks about it to Dash before the reveal, i can see why people wouldn't like it.
I still hate it and think the writer should go burn in hell, but eh.

I'm still sore over how disappointed with it i was the first time i saw it. I went expecting to give concessions to the new writer, but by the end of the first viewing i was so annoyed the writer could've died, and i wouldn't have cared.

Well, my favorite didn't get in (fall weather friends), but at least Dragonshy did, which is still the definitive MLP episode. All the best aspects of the series crammed into one episode and damn good at all of them.
Still think we should've gotten 20 votes, rather than just voting for your "favorite." Would've had a better spread (rather than just comedy ones at the top) and the aforementioned fake votes would've had even less effect.

Personally, I think this poll was done improperly. Admittedly, the following method would have taken considerably more time, but...
...I would have preferred to see an initial round of voting to remove the episodes with the highest percentile of votes. Those episodes would then be given protection status.
After that, another round of voting would begin with only the episodes that didn't make the first cut. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I don't live in the US, so I won't be able to watch this marathon on the HUB. But if I lived in there, and had the HUB, I'll totally watch this. It was a fun ride to see the poll switching back and forth.

I think that Swarm of the Century deserved to be in there, only because the only "marathon" that I have ever seen was a Star Trek marathon that included The Trouble With Tribbles, which was in fact the first Star Trek episode I ever saw.
Almost every episode from this season made the cut, even though a majority of them have been well below the standard that last season set. Outstanding.
Family Appreciation Day beat out 18 season one episodes. Are you fucking kidding me.

Nah, Lesson Zero is way overrated, but people love pony mental breakdowns. It's just a shame that Twilight's is nowhere as amusing as Pinkie's was, but it is now far more beloved. Bronies have very short memories apparently.

No surprise Lesson Zero, Luna Eclipsed, and Party of One practically stole the top three, and I really like seeing Sonic Rainboom in 4th. It was my first episode of MLP that I ever watched, and it was the episode that made me a brony. What was it about Sonic Rainboom that got me to join the herd? The soundtrack. My eyes were seeing Pony, but my ears were hearing Gradius, and my brain automatically went, "Gradius? This is put into the auto-like category. NEXT!" Then I saw, and fell in love with, Pinkie Pie, and I knew I had instantly become a slave to the Element of Laughter. FOREVER!!!

Obviously, a majority of bronies have a different opinion of Season Two than you. I'm of the opinion that both seasons are amazing; my vote went to a Season Two episode simply to ensure that the absolute best song in the series got onto the next poll. Swarm of the century was always one of my favorites. It's ususally the episode I show to people who have never seen MLP. I was sad that it didn't make it.
I was more surprised that The Secret of my Excess did. I love rarity but spike just kinda lays there for me. He's a better sideman than a star.

Yeah, I don't even like Mare do well that much and yet it was better than the pet episode IMO.
I have no idea why it's popular. It's not even that funny/has funny scenes like Pinkie Keen had the odd time and I really hate Pinkie Keen as an episode. Because while FPK had a terribly written moral, was awkward and didn't really fit the tone of other episodes surrounding it was still sometimes fun. I mean almost every other episode even the ones I don't care for had something going for it at least. Mare Do Well was also not well thought out in some respects- though that's an easy fix in getting the rest of the mane 6 to try and fail to get RD to listen before pulling their scheme (or alternatively have Ditzy Doo/another character just be awesome Mare-Do-Well like many wanted).
Oddly Mare- Do-Well could be considered unfair to RD since her friends didn't talk to her first and yet the Pet episode far far too nice to her just so she could get her own way and an awesome pet even after her horrible behaviour and abuse.

To everyone saying how unfair it is that MMDW wasn't included: this is the way things go when votes are compromised. Yes, it could have been overlooked and shrugged off but instead /b/ just ended up causing it to be disqualified. This is normally what happens when voting is screwed with. Or a recount is done (but this may be too time-consuming in this case.) This is true in almost any other voting method.
And I, for one, enjoyed Feeling Pinkie Keen. I didn't even consider the written moral as anything religious until someone online brought it up .. and while I can see where people may get it from, I disagree with that view. I still like the moral of the story and the entire feel of the story (despite the overly cartoony part of Twilight getting things dropped on her.) I thought it had some great comedy, great action, and was overly a nice, fun romp.
And while I didn't exactly enjoy MMWD .. it's still ponies. And it's still only one episode out of twenty. So it isn't too big a deal either way .. right?

Seth & co. determined that about 2500 votes came from a few 4chan trolling threads (I'm not sure the specifics of how). 2881-2500=381, which drops MMDW down to #22, after A Dog and Pony Show and before Boast Busters. So for the somewhere-around 381 ponies who voted for MMDW, your votes still counted; 381 just wasn't high enough.
As for those of you saying that a vote is a vote, and that 4chan's 2500 should have counted, that's a separate issue altogether which I won't get into.
@Tenaris I suppose the major difference is that all of 4chan was trolling, while a great deal of us are supporting ponies. It's a fine line, but that's enough for most people.
As for me... I voted Transformers in the ToyWiz poll, I voted for the MLP wiki in the Wikia yearly (let's face it, every other fanbase probably did what we did in THAT case and I've never visited any other Wikia ever that was memorable) and I haven't participated in any others.
Why noone voted Look Before you Sleep? that's easily the episode where Twilight is most adorable. I guess there's still a lot of moronic Rarihate
Votes should be counted if they're fair votes. A fair vote in this instance is someone who's actually a fan of the show voting for their choice. The difference between EqD sending pony fans to polls so they can vote for MLP in them and 4chan sending trolls to jack up a vote because they think it'll be funny is obvious: Intent is everything.
We should hold a secondary vote asking if Mare Do Well should be a top three episode, Y/N? This would drown out any troll vote, because so many fans may only select one of two options, which ensures a fair assessment.

I voted for Sonic Rainboom, glad to see it crack the top 5. I must admit though Lesson Zero probably deserves that #1 spot. That episode was fantastic, Twilight's breakdown only slightly edges out Pinkie's to me (it was the faces!).
To everypony who is whining over their favorites not being high enough or their least favorite too high, just know that I cast a vote for each episode. We were sent to love and tolerate, not to hate Mysterious Mare Do Well and Feeling Pinkie Keen. Why don't we all calm down and prepare for the Mare-athon? That's why we all voted, isn't it?
Now for the tricky part, cutting this list of 20 down into a list of 10 for the actual 5 hour mare-athon. The top 5 should be safe but there will be some hustling in those lower boundaries for the rest of the top 10 spots.
No Boast Busters (the one I voted for) and no Swarm of the Century (the one that I was really close to voting for)? Awww. Oh well. At least good old Party of One made it to number three!

What I want to know is why was Mysterious Mare Do Well spammed? Haven't we sorta agreed that the original two episodes and Call of the Cutie were the worst? Your opinion is your own on that issue, but as a /b/tard it's weird that trolls would choose an episode that's at least decent.

@GenericNoun Well for me, it was because the whole episode wasn't written that well. All the characters seem off, the moral was reused, and the plot twist at the end was horrible.
The current top ten would be a fantastic marathon as is. However, if I were in control I'd swap Cutie Mark Chronicles and Sweet and Elite for the Return to Harmony arc. Then it would be perfect!

They really underestimate the bronies and seriously don't seem to realise bronies go to that site as well.

I liked the pilot. There are definitely other episodes I prefer as a whole, but I consider the Mane Six's defeat of Nightmare Moon to be the single most epic scene in the entire series.
I actually loved mare do well, it was an awesome tearjerker, removed the subtle mary sue status on rainbowdash by showing her immaturity as a flaw, and had great clips for pmvs.
For feeling pinkie keen, it was also a great episode, along with over a barrel, they both had great climaxes, and things which made me laugh.
The only thing I'm going to say is you aethiests seem to act pompous over people choosing religion over science, let them believe what they want, do you want people to go up to you and tell you science is wrong.
Wait, so Anon raided a MLP poll... and they voted for Mysterious Mare-Do-Well? How did they decide that was the worst? That was an alright episode. They should've done the episode with Owlicious, or maybe the one with the Para-Sprites. Not that those were bad episodes (there has yet to be a bad episode of this show), but those were some of the more annoying episodes, IMO.
@Peter That's a bit of a mix mix, i know we can pull that of legitly but if you haven't noticed lately all the polls (with the exception of the recent one on facebook) were not legit voting.
@DruVirus For one, just that many views wasn't dramatically effecting anyone. And two,it was taken down because the votes were compromise. . . Lets look at that for a second and at the other polls previously that EqD has addressed and asked/sent most of us out and tell me they all were (Except for the facebook one) were not compromised with a lot of fake votes.Just by doing what they did with that out right contradicted themselves.
Yeah i can't deny that @White Ink,every fanbase majority of any series has a sections of fans like that.

How is that a contradiction? Equestria Daily only pointed its audience toward pony related polls. Even if you're right about not all of the votes on those polls being legitimate that's not Equestria Daily's responsibility, they never told anyone to cheat (I'm assuming that's what you mean by fakes votes).

As an atheist I kind of take offense to that. I found the episode funny with the main fault being the wording of the moral at the end. Lauren Faust herself regrets that aspect of the episode. Is that not a legitimate complaint?
@HMorris73 Yeah they pointed out the audience towards the pony related polls and wanted to get ponies on top for "fun" While part of the community was all for getting ponies to the top by any means necessary (while the rest of the community plain simple disliked it) by going to every computer in site and afterwards change there ip and vote again. Now for how they never told anyone to cheat which is true. but they kept on encouraging it by posting more polls on websites.Now after the toywiz they stated that all poll raiding/fake votes/spamming wasn't intended to be a serious action but just for fun. Now granted when the same thing that has been done to the other websites that EqD had sent their audience to had happened to the daily and they took it done and that's why. They encouraged doing that to other websites polls but when it happens to their own website they end up and go taking it down.

@HMorris73 Yeah encouraging people to vote non stop till utterly humiliating other competition. Now lets see that poll ponies were around 2500's losing and then posted on EqD it got over 10k new votes under 7 hours and what encouraged them was that they were losing and should "Fix it.

We have pretty large presence on Equestria Daily, once people here are made aware why shouldn't the numbers jump up? And again, even if people did cheat you haven't shown that EQD encouraged it. I don't really see how anyone could take "fix it" in this case as some sort of "do this at any cost" command rather than in the humorous spirit it was intended.

If you honestly cannot see why then on your own time just go back search up all of the EqD posts on polls and go examine the community's reactions to the posts.You don't need to every single one of the comments just look at how many majority people reacted to each of them. Just look at how many from reading each post were willing to jump to the occasion. Odds are we are just going to continue disagree about this up to no end.
