You have probably noticed the new button on the side bar. It's convention time for us West coasters! Everfree Northwest has officially opened up it's registration, and from the looks of things, this is going to be an epic gathering!
They gave me some copy paste to explain it all, so I'll let you read it all below!

The wait is finally over. To everypony who patiently waited with bated breath, we welcome one and all to Everfree Northwest! It is our distinct pleasure to announce that we are now taking pre-registration for our one-of-a-kind event in Seattle, scheduled for August 17-19. If there's one thing we learned last week, it's not to underestimate the power and awesome numbers of our new community, so bearing that in mind we will state up front that, being a first-year convention, space at our venue is finite so be sure to sign up now! Also, those who wish to have a table in our Dealer's Room should register as soon as possible as the number of tables at this time are extremely limited!
We are pleased to announce the following Community attendees for our event:

There will likely be more guest announcements as we draw closer to the event, so stay tuned, follow us on Twitter, and don't forget to sign up on our forums!
If you require accommodation during your stay in Seattle, please be sure to take advantage of our special convention room rate with the code "MLP" when registering for your hotel room with the SeaTac Airport Holiday Inn. This rate also includes complimentary buffet breakfast for two adults per morning, per room!

BroNYCon was essentially a meetup group that exploded thanks to the tireless work (and probably fronting the money) to Purple Tinker. If you want a huge thing to go down in your part of the world you need to drum up interest and convince people states away to show up.
Now, how on Equestria would one do that? I don't know. I guess get some big names. Hmm... I take this back, this would be harder than I thought.
There just needs to be more meetups I guess.

Why can't there be a southern convention? I live in Texas, so New York and Seattle are literally the farthest places in the country to travel!
I'mma wait till Single-Day registration is available. I work weekends and I will be working at the tattoo convention the weekend before, so I won't be able to take the whole weekend off.

I checked out their website, and they've seriously got their stuff in order! A big ol' legal document that nearly knocked me off my socks by how official it looked. They actually created a "PEGASI, INCORPORATED" non-profit organization that was registered with the state of Washington.
They've got the right rules in place to accommodate kids, and there's discounts with the hotel. This is amazing! If I lived in Washington (like a DeviantArt friend of mine) and not California, I would definitely consider going!
I live on the other side of Washington(Spokane), so this event is great for us Western bronies who are too poor to afford BroNYcon. I will be sure to bring 8 or more Spokane bronies to this awesome convention =D

Damn, still too far away from Colorado to drive. Don't think I can find a way to buy two round-trip flights in such a short period of time either (and that's assuming I can make it to the next BroNYcon). Midwest/central bronies always get the short end of the stick :/.

Just finished registering myself this evening, buying a badge comes later. (having some minor technical issues with the site) Then I book the ticket for the trip and the hotel room, then i shall prepare my body in 8 months time. lol
