It's time for an epic comic, ponies.

Derpy's eyes looks fine in the prologue, I'm assuming her eye is going to get injured in a battle to reflect the General Derpy with an eye patch design we've seen before.
Oh and the artist/author is in NZ! Awesome.

Feels like this is based off a fanfic or such. Poor hurt Derpy. :'( It's looking like a good story and comic so far.
This may be the beginning of one of the fandom's greatest graphic novels.
I think it already is, but what I mean to say is that this is likely to be one of the most memorable.

Every once in a while something like this comes along and blows my mind. Before it's been some notacleverpony music, then it was stories like FoE or Eversleep, and now it;s an epic comic with amazing art. The amount of talent in this community is freakin incredible.
I kind of wonder what would Ms. Faust think of this. Not because I think she'd disapprove, but because it falls so far from the lightheartedness of the original product.
One would hope she'd proper trip balls over it, because dayum.

I find it interesting how things dissimilar in origin can be so parallel. On our Mush (Equestrian Dawn) Luna is indeed the military leader of Equestria. Celestia is the Political leader. Together they work better then separate. It also is how we explained ponies calling times of war Dark Days of Equestria. Because that was when Luna was leading. It also explains why Celestia, the elder sister, needed the Elements to bring NMM down when she was using Luna. Luna has much more experience with combat magical and physical. There is of course much more to this story but this thread is not about our mush. I will say this. The illustrations and words are masterfully crafted, each one bringing the fullest of emotion. IF anything were added or taken from it the whole would be less for it. Bravo.
That was just epic, can't wait to see more.

Without a doubt, the greatest MLP:FiM comic I have ever read. It's beautiful, it's emotional, it's epic, and it's awesome all rolled into one.
I have mixed feelings about this.
On one hand, the idea of ponies using the Elements of Harmony as a WMD that literally kills enemies (many of which were possibly just following orders) flies in the face of everything the show teaches us.
On the other hand, this is shaping up to be something completely epic.
I approve of this. It is truly awesome to both look at and read. Hopefully this will continue on.
This comic shattered the awesome barrier and is currently traveling at Dash 2.1

My impression is that they were doing something with the Elements that hadn't been done before, and they didn't realize how catastrophic the results would be.
Okay for those unfamiliar with this work what exactly is Equestria Prevails? Other than an artist on deviantart that has some amazing pictures.

We don't really know the entire back story behind it, so you may be right. I don't see Celestia as someone who would direct Twilight to misuse the Elements unless it was seen as an absolute necessity. Of course, the full capabilities of the Elements and the mechanics behind them are mostly unknown to viewers of the show, and probably will remain so.
Holy Genocide, death and war in MLP, and it looks like outta the show. Just for an older audience.

I love this sort of thing. A great tale that can not be held within a half hour show that lets us explore more of Equestria that would never be allowed to be canon.

If a series specifically for older viewers were to be spun off FiM (unlikely to happen), I would personally prefer to see something that trumps up the fantasy elements. This sort of story looks, so far, to be very similar to how I'd envision such a show.

Nice to see this series finally getting off the ground. If anyone is interested there's already a sort of fan fiction for this series called "Equestria: Total War" over on fimfiction http://www.fimfiction.net/story/2354/Equestria%3A-Total-War
Just realize that it has almost nothing to do with the original story besides featuring General Derpy. I won't spoil anything but just imagine that the main character is Derpoleon Bonahooves and you'll get a good idea of where the story goes.
