#2 Yeah, I think Twilight can do that. But it'd be a lot of concentration and effort the entire time you're levitating yourself. But they can levitate other things, so I don't see why not themselves as well. But the larger the object and longer, the more work.
Again, "magical surges." Flying and phasing through walls is all good and dandy, but it's a pretty big step from simultaneously: putting several ponies in suspended animation, turning your parents into plants, AND aging a dragon into adulthood in an instant.
I know how you feel Seth, Trixie and Twilight (can't really decide between the two) are my favorite ponies. Though I think it goes without saying that if you can levitate a giant water tower filled with cows milk (app. 30,000 gallons, plus she milked all those cows using her magic in about five seconds) then you can probably levitate yourself, I don't know maybe it's just me who thinks that.

1. Reminds me of how she carved 'Celestia Sucks' out on the moon so that it was readable from the ground.

Sad Luna is cute. I'd actually enjoy more comics about Nightmare Moon being trapped up there. Bitter, angry characters are fun.
#2 made me laugh. Those babies are crazy overpowered, regardless of how you justify it. It's not a huge deal, but it leaves openings like this.
