I have no doubt in my mind that this fan-base could spread, and make the entire world a better place. I have been a fan since before "brony" was even a word in my vocabulary, watching at the very birth of this amazing show. The show, with it's inspiring portrayal of true friends tackling any obstacle that comes their way, pulled me out of a very dark time in my life. Becoming a part of this community made me a part of something I never imagined: I can find hundreds, neigh (lol), THOUSANDS, of others like me, that are more than willing to just be a friend.
We made the impossible happen. We made friendship an unquestioned thing that even perfect strangers can accept, unflinchingly, on the INTERNET, of all places! Our influence has grown out from that, and I hope the momentum never stops.
I came for the sake of my curiosity and stayed for the fandom (the show is awesome too ;)).
If it wasn't for getting into this show, I wouldn't have met any of my fellow Ohio Bronies, all of whom are the greatest people I have ever met in my life.
I'm eternally grateful for MLP and all of you in the fandom that amaze me with your artwork and dedication, as well as the great number of people who are so accepting of someone they don't know in person or met no more than several months ago for the first time.
crying...its so inspirational to see how far we have come, and such a welcoming family we are. Through all the haters and trolls, we still have, imo, the strongest bonds of any fandom. I can only imagine how many lives we have changed and saved from the constant struggles of daily life
I was never depressed. But now, I don't think I will be. Now that I know that people like bronies, people who truly care, exist, I could never and will never give up. Thank you. Thank you all.
Love and tolerate, you guys, and make it happen. To friendship!
Thank you, ive made 2 bronies, and trying to make more. To share the most amazing thing that ever happened. the Brony community. its a perfect society. Make it happen. Bring more of them into our world! Show them the magic of Friendship!
Oh wow, Hey liking the show is ok but life changing? nigga please, you freakin nerds. It's JUST a damn t.v. show, entertainment, as is some fanfics, when you LIVE ponies, you know you're completely pathetic.
"I had depression once, instead of manning the fuck up, I watched ponies and was k." Rather than being tempered and becoming tougher due to strife, he found an easy out.
screw that. If I have to be LIVING ponyism to like and talk about the show with my friends, then I'm no brony.
That said, the show is really cool, and I love it, but some bronies are just fucking pathetic.
You have to admit. There is no other fanbase like ours. There are a number of huge fanbases for sure, but how many influence our show, communities, other media such as music and comics, even books... We do all and try to be there for all ( cept trolls, we tolerate trolls. *nods* ) This is truly something fantastic and I hope that any negative seen about us is crushed by all of the good. Yeah bad exists in all mediums, in all walks of life, but really, You cannot have good without it. Some bad will happen and we will be better for it. I love this familybase, there have been a few who are gone ( will remained un-named ) Who were in it just for the recognition, it's sad, because they were very good at what they brought to the community as well. The collective of us have created so much content, tributes and fanworks, that it could take a single person possibly years to experience it all, and as things go, new stuff is added everyday. I'm proud to be a brony, I'm proud to walk around with a lavender phone case and Twilight Sparkle on its background. I'm proud to have a little pink pony on the dashboard of my car at the age of 27 ( both me and the car LOL ). I am proud to blast the fan music in all of it's genres from my car stereo. I have even got a few strangers interested in some of the artists, most popular being MictheMicrophone, and the greatly missed NotaCleaverPony.
What else can I say, the show has changed me quite a bit. Every electronic device I own has pony on it in one for or another. I can control my anger more easily, and I tend to do more for peeps as of late. I have made a lot of new friends over at DA and and around the web thanks to this show/fandom as it changes the world one submission and viewing at a time. I just hope that others will continue to take notice, Hasbro will take better notice, and maybe learn something from the show and us. If a bunch of young/grown men/women, angsty teens, those who were in trouble or moral tragedy can learn to tolerate, and change the way they view the world, maybe others in more important chairs could too. We are a collective of everything that has been out there. The good, the bad, all the in between, and we have made a fantastically positive image of ourselves so far. Who knows what could happen if we could keep this up.
All it took was one Wonderful Woman who had a dream, and a drive. And a goofy toy company looking to create a new image for its toy lines.
I for one am changed, Bronie forever, even after the fact is said and done. I will always remember this, everything associated with Friendship is Magic, Lauren Faust, Hasbro ( even tho they can be as stubborn as AJ ) and the God-tier community of multi talented Bronie/Pegasistser out there.
I proudly display the signets of the Royal Sisters and my fav pony Twilight Sparkle.
And if others ask, Yeah I love My little Pony, despite how embarrassed I may get, I will always tell the truth about how I am towards MLP:FIM.
Bronie now, and ever. Brohoof all.
I can only say Thank you to that driven Woman, goofy toy company, and the god-tier community
Your comment urked me so much I have to say something. I hate it when people say "man up." meaning hey how about you abandon all your emotions and just deal with it. Keep them bottled up. Don't cry that's for little kids. Or don't be such a girl. In my opinion, people who speak out for what they are feeling and how they feel towards others are awesome. Because they ingore all the idiots who tell them real men don't cry or show emotion. If a show opens your mind up and unleashes ideas and your feelings, that's really cool. If a show shows you or teaches you that life is better than you think, how is that not awesome? If you can't deal with the massive amount of friendship, kindness, and love that these people feel, I feel sorry for you. Because I, as a person, have changed. It's made me feel better about life and the brony community has shown me there ARE good people in this horrible world. The brony community is living proof that humans CAN love eachother and except eachother for who they are, no matter what they are. And if you can't see that, it's your loss. Go and insult more people and be like all the other people who try to ruin this world. Go cuss people out like you just did, get drunk, make fun of us. Be as a human shouldn't be. Someone who beats others down and makes fun. Don't be different. Don't be a human.
It is interesting, this show. It created a fanbase, that attracted the best of everything from all over the world. The best artists and the most creative and kind individuals from every country, all conversing under a common flag. I do believe this show has made a much greater impact then most other things before, it gathered up the best people of all across the internet, and put them all together. While not everybody may understand, and some narrow minded individuals may dismiss us as being gay or queer, or god knows what some dusty old book said was a "sin" or some crap, we still just ignore them and continue to "love and tolerate" as it was?
All I can say is, bravo internet. You have changed the world, with ponies. Nobody saw that coming. And I love it.
That video truly encompasses what this community means to each of us. You are all so awesome. This is the greatest fan community in the history of forever. Based off of the best TV show I have ever had the pleaser of watching. This fandom continues to astound me with it's creativity and kindness. The fact that it even exists is amazing. If you told me a year and a half ago that I would be watching a cartoon about candy coloured equines and discussing said show with other people online I would have laughed. I'm laughing now, but for all the right reasons. Everyday I can re-watch a random episode of FiM or I can come to Equestria Daily or some other Brony local on the net and find something that makes me smile for the rest of the day. You all make up the kindest, loyalist, funniest, honest, generous fandom to ever exist, and there is something magical about that. Let's continue the trend throughout 2012 and make it The Year of Friendship.
@ArmageddonWith all of the rudeness, hate, and insecurity displayed by your post, then I have to agree with you that you are not a brony, and completely missed the whole point of what being a brony is all about. The show has a message, and being a brony is about embracing that message.
"I had depression once, instead of manning the fuck up, I watched ponies and was k." Rather than being tempered and becoming tougher due to strife, he found an easy out.
"manning the cuss up" by bottling up your emotions and ignoring them doesn't do anything but make you a more bitter, cold-hearted and unpleasant individual, and is not the only way to temper and become stronger through strife. Accepting your emotions and reaching out to others in times of trouble or strife (and returning the gesture in kind) will make you an even stronger person in the end, and this is what watching the show has taught us. He who has friends is never a failure in the end; but he who stands alone, dies alone.
Just the comments in this thread would make it worth being a brony. We're an awesome community, and I'm proud of each and every moment I spent it in here, posting, commenting, chatting, enjoying, perusing, creating, sharing, loving. *raises glass* To friendship! We will make this happen, guys.
@Caleb Allen You're right, it is gone! I have no idea why, and a quick YouTube search returns nothing relevant :\
I wonder why he deleted it. Maybe it was getting some hate again, like all that time ago.
The original uploader has a playlist on his channel, titled "Bronies make it happen 2", although none of the clips it has were in the original video :\
Wow, this post takes me back... January feels like such a long time ago...

ReplyDeleteProps for much of the video youtube/facebook pages being in german too. ^_^
