It's official, we have remixed and performed Winter Wrap Up every possible which way outside of diggeridoo.

And I used to think the Imperial March on floppy discs was impressive.

I'm almost crying. This fandom is amazing.

Insomnia said...

I think our wonderful community is practically insane by this point! What kind of person comes up with an idea like this anyway?!

Second, this is among the most EPIC things I've heard and seen in a long while! Props to whoever decided to do this!

Scootabag said...

Octavia said...

Lmao. That is a clever and fun idea I must admit. I love all the random shit we can use to put music together with. It's fun. Good work.

Pinkie Pie said...

Best use of outdated PC technology EVER.

Fadhil Anshar said...

This must be how GLaDOS' memory racks produce music.

Laura said...

Finally, a new use for floppy drives!

Botcho said...

This is one of the best things I've ever seen!

Dantes_Grill said...

Floppy drives is best instrument!

Ryan said...

Damn, this definitely made my day! Using floppy drives in an unconventional and unusual way...as musical instruments; adding Winter Wrap Up into the mix notches the thing up! I seriously needed it after a long day of work. I'm going to check this person's other videos.

@Tiloren :P nothing, I'm just bucking excited about my new computer ^_^ my old one was four years old, over-heated hourly, was actually broken (the top part of it had like issues keeping upright), so this new computer is like my new favorite thing!

Mattatatta said...

This is beyond awesome

Somebody get this video on Mr. Ingram's screen, I reckon he'll enjoy this!

Gummy said...

by celestia's beard is there anything we can't do?!

Jordan said...

The lesson here, folks (though we've learned it before), is that anyone on the Internet can instantly get thousands of more interested viewers by doing something MLP:FiM-related.

Muffinsforever said...

@Gummy

I ask that question every day. I love this fandom!

Tristan said...

This has ALL of the fantastic.

Now to listen to it again.

I can't even come up with something to say after seeing that :O, pretty soon bronies are gonna find a way to play Winter Wrap Up with mayonnaise as an instrument!

Nimru said...

this is awesomesauce. ive seen cars playing techno, crazy special effects, and even a symphony of robot turrets playing music (portal 2 anyone?), but never have i seen old floppy drives playing anything, much less one of the more awesome songs in the entire series (but they are all awesome).

Everyone should like, fav, and sub to this guy. Like now.

Tyger said...

Wow. He created a java program to control the drives using a MIDI file. That's awesome.

Draglord2505 said...

This is awesome. Now all we need is this song played on Tesla Coils, and then we need everything else played on Tesla Coils, and that will be. So. Awesome.

goldenCapitalist said...

Woahdamn. This is pretty fucking awesome. Like really. My GOD. Awesome. Though how much time did it take to set this up? o.O

acebaconpony said...

OMG this is just so awsome

Woof Hooves said...

i can only think of 3 other ways that would be cool to do this song..but this is HARD to top..but corigraphing it would be epicly hard
chainsaws
motorcycles
various car engine exhaust notes

And my perception of what is possible in this world goes KABLOOEY.

Greenie-Pie said...

This is beyond awesome. My lonely floppy drive in this poor outdated computer just shed a tear of joy. Seriously haven't used a floppy drive since like windows98.

This is by far my favorite rendition of WWU aside from the original of course.

Kudos!!

Stoic said...

wow...impressive what mankind can do with their outdated technology...likely build a Tardis core without the time vortex I'm sure

glittering-pony said...

I love getting this song stuck in my head!

Artsie Bee said...

I had no idea you could do this with floppy drives. o.o
That's way too awesome.
(Then again, I've heard of people playing "Still Alive" on a cnc machine, guess it's not THAT suprising...)

richfiles said...

Brings back memories of programming my C64 floppy drive to play Another One Bites The Dust back in the days, it's nice to see people still enjoy creating music this way.

The quality of this is simply amazing!

Pyrobug said...

Wow, so there *is* still a use for floppy drives.

yetti said...

can't describe how awesome it is.
even imperial march wasn't so epic. :)

Unknown said...

I half expected GLaDOS to chime in at some point. Am I too addicted to Portal?

P.Slater said...

And I JUST got this song out of my head. WTF.

I never even thought this possible. Now do it with fax machines!

payphone101 said...

lol win. no doubt there.

Wolflover221 said...

that was unbelievable....just think if a brony can do this with floppy disks what could he do if he was in one of the most advanced computer labs in the world.....

JessicaPopcorn said...

what the... i dont even... how... HOLY SHIT THIS IS AMAZING :D.

InsomniacOvrLrd said...

You guys bum me out. This is a fad that been around for a couple years. Just because someone transcribes winter wrap up into this format, doesn't make it the most AMAZING THING EVER.

Get a sense of quality, guys. Seriously.

Greenie-Pie said...

This is the first time that 99.9% of ponies viewing this have ever heard of floppies playing music. Myself included.

Yes it seems amazing, and yes it may have been done before, but just because you are one of the few who thinks that this is "old news", why ruin everyponys good mood and excitement?

YOUR comment bummed me out.

Jonathan said...

Armageddon said...

thanks for the reupload, much appreciate, fuck the youtube trolls being unfunny and ruining videos for NO reason.

ElChrisman99 said...

Oh thanks for the reupload... Man that is so epic, but those floppy drive readers must be worn out after this kind of abuse XD

SuperGiantRobot said...

Normally, I'd suggest Youtube change their stance on how copyright claims are handled, but from what I've seen the people responsible for moderating the site are as stupid as a sack of mallets.

MLP videos are clearly and maliciously being targeted; even ones who have effectively no copy-written material in them, as you can see by this example.

SammyIAm said...

Huzzah! The original is back online. Thanks YouTube reviewers!

Landon said...

HUZZAAH!!!! HOW MANY FLOPPIES DO WE RECIEVE!!!!

Hawkx1 said...

@Kelazi5
