I'm caitious of ITAV, ive heard a good bit about it but the shipping tag has me on the balance. Is a Spike thing or is Mane 6? Just wondering

The shipping tag might as well not be there. Romance in the fic is very peripheral.
The story is mostly Spike's though. However the mane 6 all pitch in to help him out and of course feature prominently.
As someone who's been reading it I I recommend giving it a go. It's a good fic.

The shipping tag is heavily misleading. It's not a shipping story at all. There's a very minor subplot of growing attraction between two cast members, there's some dealing with Spike's crush on Rarity, and I suppose there's the possibility of more in these final two chapters, but even then anything I'd label as "shipping" would be well under 10% of the total story.
I'm guessing the tag was thrown on there just to be safe.

In response to all those concerned about the shipping its only a very small part of the story, there's only tiny Fluttershy x Big Mac parts and some moments with Spike and another character (no spoilers) in the later chapters.
All in all its mostly in the background so if your on the fence about reading it I would definitely suggest giving it a go, It's a great story.

The only "shipping" element so far (and we're near the end) is almost irrelevant to the storyline. It's a subplot that's not even really focussed on for more than a couple lines at a time, and if I remember, doesn't even show up for the first few chapters.

I already follow Cheer On via FimFiction. It is a great fic.
God... I'm so tempted to read the crossover with Star Trek, THE series of my childhood, but I'm afraid that I'll ruin to myself both MLP and Star Trek. Twilight as a mixture of Jean-Luc and Kathie - she's so perfect for that! Did I mention that I hate crossovers, including Fallout: Equestria and Silent Ponyville - things worse even than clopfics?

It's not like that. It's MLP in direct crossover with the human universes of Star Trek and Dr. Who and "our" Earth all combined. Twilight isn't the star either.

Okay, see, now this just annoys me. You prissy-hoofs who refuse to read an amazingly well-done story just because of shipping or grimdark or anything that's just not normally your cup of tea.
And then you sit around come story update and whine that there's nothing interesting there for you, as you blow off many hours of hard work and creativity on the part of all those wonderful, gifted authors you just blew off.
Find your balls and GIVE IT A SHOT. I mean seriously, to all of you who are like this. Just take a day or two to dive headfirst into the fanfiction express. Read the first chapter of -everything- you normally don't like.
You'll surprise yourselves, like many others like you who've come before. "Normally I hate , but this was a great story!" I promise you'll have an enjoyable time, as long as you just try.

Something to finally read after such a long drought.
And to the whole "not reading gripe"...I avoid anything that has references to or about Doctor Who in it like the plague......and to make it worse it seems that the story is wrapped around the most overrated of the star trek epics IMO.
(yes I think "next gen" was super overrated...especially compared to Deep space 9)
