Can somebody explain how fics on this site get their rating label ?

Users rate a fic via the star ratings system in the upper left. After a fic has gathered enough ratings a blogpony will assign it a rating tag based on the average rating it holds. They always round up, and if a fic gets five star ratings consistently it gets the 6-star tag. Pretty sure that's it
@AestheticB They have some balance, considering the people who have learned to just bomb it repeatedly with a minigun tank turret using one-star ratings as ammunition shells.

Oh, I am quite familiar with people tanking ratings on stories they haven't read. I never meant to imply that the system is broken.

Upheaval is beginning to hit FO:E critical mass now. So many chapters, such a short non-explanatory description! I wonder if I'll ever have the heart to start reading it.
@AK as far as chapters go, probably. As far as fandom, content, etcetera, probably never.

Still none of the fics I'm looking at =( I remember when upheaval was at part 18, and I thought 'Hmm, maybe I'll read this'. Then it got to part 28 and I though 'I should start reading this so I'll always have a story update."
I think I'm scared that the second I start reading it, It'll come out 'update complete' and I'll just end up in the same boat as I started in Dx

thats what happened to me with fallout. it stopped updating for a long time and when it started again i was like "meh i'll read them when i find the charger for my phone so i can read it on that." 2 days later i see a post with a epilouge and im like "NOOOOO!!!! it can't be over!" and i'll probably get around to reading it tomorrow
@csos95 Best fanfic (Past Sins bronies, please back off. I don't hate Past Sins, I just think that Fallout Equestria is better), and definitely one of the best stories.
Both of these stories seem fairly lengthy. This week is gonna be slow, so I just might give them a go. But not now. My favorite show's about to start...the second half.
