I for one am pretty glad that Canterlock died off almost immediately.
So the Princess triumphs over everything, with the saucy, damp manes in second. The original "socks" makes its presence, and I wish nostalgia would have won here.

It was a tough choice between CANTERLOCK and Pony Cars for me. In the end, I flipped a coin.

Rarity may be best pony (of the mane six) but we're talkin' memes here. It's almost like the writers are doing it on purpose for Trollestia. Most of the user created comics and tumblrs I see for Trollestia are really well done and almost always gets a lol out of me so it should be best meme.

As for my mocking, yes, it ticks me off that certain people try to stamp their own personal impression of Celestia like a gold standard and canon.
Celestia never had an episode dedicated to her character, yet somehow my interpretation of her as bored monarch prankster is "wrong" and the other one is "right".

Canterlock I can understand people not knowing, as Google even fails at it. But how can people not find out what Rarityquest was, it's the first result in Google for the term rarityquest.
Brodyquest is the original, then Rarity did her scene where she was dragged to the rock and someone decided to mix the two.
Kinda like Pinkiequest, but not as awesome.
I'm actually quite fond of Trollestia because it was one of the first recurring jokes of the fandom I encountered.
But it makes me sad because I really like Princess Celestia as a character, she's so sweet but there is never any honest discussion about Celestia anymore. Everything is from the Troll angle, she had a nefarious reason for doing this or doing that.
As opposed to say Pinkie who is the butt of many cupcakes jokes but it's not to the point where all the Pinkie discussion is about her being a killer.

I love me some Rarity any day, but Trollestia will always special place in my heart. Even if people may not enjoy the memes, I felt it was one of the original memes to help spur on MLPs popularity in the early days and make the fandom much more enjoyable to this odd demographic.
Since the fanbase has imploded, tastes have spread far and wide too so I guess I see why not everyone's going to like it, but hey that doesn't stop those that enjoy it. At least most of Trollestia seems to play with ideas that help 'explain' the show even if it's not what was intended, it's still hilarious as a light joke at the end of the day and doesn't have to impact her real character in any way.

This poll doesn't really show how many of us actually dislike that meme, only how many like it. It's possible there is more of people who dislike it than those who like it.
IMO it's kinda annoying to see such great character beeing shown that way, but I don't blame the guys who think it's funny.

One thing I liked and still like about trollestia jokes is that they add depth and humanize bland-looking ruler/mentor figure that is Celestia. They also make her look intelligent and meticulous since her pranks are very subtle.
Usually in cartoons mentor figures are uninteresting infallible paragons of virtue. MLP avoided that pitfall, fortunately.
