How on earth is that cheating? We have more fans, and they are more dedicated, so we won. That's how all elections work, whether you get multiple votes or not. If you have more voters, and they are passionate, you win. That's not cheating - it's democracy.
Think of it this way, if the other shows were good enough to win the competition then they would have a large fandom of their own.
But they didn't, so the best cartoon wins.

Batman: TAS had characters in the poll. I love ponies, but I'd be hard pressed to choose them over the DCAU. Especially not Discord over The Joker.
Why are you bronies feeling guilty? MLP is more popular than any other show on The Hub. It was pretty inevitable. It'd be pretty silly if Hasbro actually expected any other characters to win in an internet based voting contest.

I dont get the hub and I dont really care, but I will admit as far as the characters themselves (popularity aside) wheather B:TAS Joker is better than Discord as a villain, considering Discord was defeated in 2 episodes while the Joker's been around... geeze... how many decades? ...very hard choice there... I voted for Dan and don't regret it one bit, I actually enjoy Dan Vs more than MLP. It just disheartens me seeing how few people actually appreciate the Hub, and just appreciate one show on it.
I wish Joker hadn't gone up against Discord in the first round. I don't mind him losing THAT much, but he should've at least gotten to destroy Baroness or something first. And Batman definitely should've beaten Optimus, what the hell.

I honestly don't understand all this "I feel guilty" muck going around. We are a legitimate fan base supporting our show. What in the Sam Hell™ is there to feel guilty about? If the other shows had half the fan base MLP: FiM has, then they'd have made a better showing. They don't, so they didn't.

I would still argue however discord is more epic because he is canonically a god whereas the joker only had those powers for what amounts to a oneshot whatif comic. furthermore we're talking naughty, not outright insane/evil.

That's why I voted for both MLP characters AND their competitors. I mean, the Joker is also pretty badass, and although I have never watched the others shows (again, we don't get the Hub in Canada. I don't even think Treehouse shows many of these), I thought they still deserved some attention.

@MEMJ0123 The other shows are out of Treehouse's viewing age range most likely. I think it's age range is 1-3 [or 4](which is why it would be embarrassing if someone comes in seeing me watch that channel). The age range required for MLP just BARELY made it onto the channel.

Had I actually voted in the first round I might have gone with with the Joker over Discord. Had they chosen a pony other than Pinkie Pie I might have gone with Optimus.
I wanted to vote for Dan and part of me wanted to vote for Chris since Dan Vs. is the only show besides MLP worth watching, but I didn't due to laziness.
I have the HUB at my house, but it's in my parent's room so I barely watch MLP there.
I voted for Dan. I've never actually seen an episode of that show while I've seen every MLP episode 3 times.

Gotta agree with everything you said, the ONLY think Joker has on Discord is how often he keeps escaping and causing trouble BUT there is no promises that discord wont pull the same stunt in the future.
However... given the nature of the series, I highly doubt he'll become a recurring villian. On the other paw, Faust herself has hinted there is a Bigger Bad that's been pulling the strings, so I DO see a possibility of a 'My enimy's enimy is my friend' team up, possibly as the Series Finale (of course there's also the option that Hasbro decides to make a 4.5 FiM after S3 and do more story-arcs with Discord, though I'm not holding my breath)
And I agree, Mischief is discord's motto, not Evil. Honestly Discord never hurt anyone, whereas The Joker is truly evil and has hurt or killed countless people

I voted for Pinkie and Discord all the way through, and only using my allowed ten votes (have to at least give the other shows a chance).
Maybe the "Exciting Update" on the Hub site will have something to do with them fudging the rules and giving half the marathon to another show. That may not be what most of us really want, but I could understand their reasoning for it.
Eh. I voted fair and square, using only the ten votes I was given and no work-arounds (aka, actual cheating). And I didn't even vote every day.
That said, I don't feel bad for my pony votes. I like ponies and I actually watch the Hub, so I can vote ponies if I want to. As for bronies who don't even get the Hub, okay, /maybe/ they shouldn't be voting. But that isn't my problem.

And I also don't regret voting for MLP ONLY. The Mark Hamill Joker is amazing, sure, but I prefer Nolans movies, so I'm not really mad about it. And I don't care about Optimus and Megatron, because I never was a big Transformer fan. I only watched the Bay movies, which where entertaining, bacause of Shia and John Tutorro, but that's pretty much it. And I never watched the other shows, since we have no Hub here in Germany.

As a LONG time batman, and Joker fan, I voted for Discord. I grow up watching Batman TAS loved Batman Beyond Movie..etc, read a good amount of the comics.
Discord is simply a better villain. It's a shame he was in FiM and not a show were he could get some real face time. When their is a FiM movie I personal hope Discord will play a major part.
On the Pinkie side of things... It's Pinkie I'm hoping one day she'll just replace the hello kitty thing and just be every were.

I personally voted for Discord and Pinkie Pie, but I'll admit, I'm slightly disappointed that it was so one-sided. I'm a pretty big fan of Optimus Prime and Megatron too, so I subconsciously kinda wish it was at least somewhat closer than it was.
I agree Joker is a superior villian to Discord objectively. But I don't consider Batman the Animated Series a true Hub show since it's syndicated not a first run original production.
And since it's a Hub contest that made it easier to pick Discord over the Joker.
Yeah, with all the Bronies that probably voted, it's no shock that Discord and Pinkie won. They were ahead by quite a lot almost the entire time. I saw Discord drop a good bit at one point, but I can't remember to who now. May have been the Joker.

I'd like to object the part about Discord not hurting anyone. He doesn't resort to physical violence, sure, but that's because he doesn't need to. He can exploit people's deepest, darkest fears, sour happy memories, and warp personalities beyond recognition, all of which can lead to severe mental and emotional trauma.
The mane six came out all right because the nightmare only lasted about a few hours at most. Imagine what would have happened if they were subjected to Discord's hell for, say, a week. (Specifically, from Sep. 17 - Sep. 24). They might probably never fully recover from that experience. I know it's left a soul tumor in me.

I also really liked Batman TAS, although I haven't seen it in years. I recall some continuity between TAS and Batman Beyond, a flashback in the movie Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, in which the Joker tortures Robin and brainwashes him into becoming his sidekick; (Before Robin turns on the Joker and accidentally kills him). Even though he tortured a child, ultimately, the Joker is just a psychopath, a mere man who took it upon himself to bring chaos on the world.
No matter how cruel he was, he could not hold a candle to the seemingly limitless power of Discord. Discord is more powerful than the two deities who control the sun and moon put together. He can, and has, altered the fabric of reality with a snap of his fingers. He could have turned the Mane 6 into bugs or cakes or anything else to get them out of his way, but he chose to turn them against themselves and each other, because that would be more fun.
In summation, the Joker is a great villain, but he is really just a criminally insane man, and no matter how cruel he was, he could never be as much of a threat as the seemingly all powerful Discord.
I'm just disappointed that Batman and Joker lost so handily. Batman TAS is one of the greatest cartoons ever made, and I'm glad the Hub is providing it to kids of this generation. The fact that it's so under-appreciated as to lose in the first round is pretty sad.
Batman TAS is one of the few cartoons I can still watch today and it's just as good as when I was a kid.

When the finals appeared, I posted on /co/, asking if the fandoms of "Dan Vs." and "Transformers" had the numbers and the drive to pull off upsets, or at least make the races competative.
You know what I got in reply? Zilch. Nada. No one stepped up to the plate to bat for Dan and Optimus.
What can we say? If the "Transformers" and "Dan Vs." fans can't get out the vote, who can complain about the results? :-P

I love these results of course, but I think you're right. With us crowding up the polls, it's really an unfair advantage. So if they decide to do this next year I think we should stay out of it, or at least pull back.
This means that come sunday, there will be a 2 hour mini block of ponies. 2 episodes will be on Discord (obvious which ones) and 2 on Pinkie Pie (If I had to guess, Party of One and Feeling Pinkie Keen)

Even though I'm a Brony, I actually voted for Dan in the Naughty (I do like Dan Vs, also). Dan actually fared better than Discord's other opponents (he had like 16%, while the other opponents had below 10%) I did vote for Pinkie Pie for the Nice category. It wasn't even a contest, it was a runaway.

It really bothers me, every time The Hub posts non-FIM related entries on FB, there are people flooding such posts saying it needs more ponies or how it has no ponies in it. If I had no interest in the post, I'd just move on and ignore it. I actually do care about the network, and I actually watch more than just FIM. I'm growing to appreciate Transformers Prime, Dan Vs. really surprised me (in a good way), even Family Game Night is pretty fun to watch. It's also nice to see older programs, too. FIM is great, but you can't live off one show alone. I'd probably get tired of it quickly, if ponies is the only thing there is on The Hub.

I can understand the idea that a bunch of internet savvy Bronies spoiled something meant for little kids, except given the choices I really don't think that's fair to say. At least from my point of view. MLP had some some worthy competitors.
First, we had Batman and the Joker from the excellent 1990s animated series. Batman has always been my favorite super hero franchise, and I watched this show almost religiously after school when it originally began airing.
Then of course, they had Optimus Prime. This character is practically my childhood hero. I grew up with the G1 Transformers, and Optimus Prime was one of my favorite toys.
When it came to down to Pinkie Pie vs. Optimus Prime, it was a difficult vote for me, to be honest. If it had been G1 Optimus, I would have voted against Pinkie Pie. But since it wasn't, Pinkie wins the day for me.
I have no regrets. The more we show Hasbro that we're a serious and large fanbase, the more likely we'll see more/better merch.
We got a problem guys: Last year, you bronies got Fluttershy and Nightmare Moon to the top of the poll, but Hasbro nix it by having an Naughty Marathon on Megatron instead. This lead to our dilemma: Regardless of how much we want Discord and Pinkie Pie to win this one, Hasbro can only choose one of those characters to fill either the Naughty or Nice Slot.
I guess we either have Optimus/Discord or Megatron/Pinkie Pie this year.
I find it funny, that if I go back in time and tell my ten years old self that I would be voting for My Little Pony instead of Batman or Transformers. He'll probably laugh at me and say that will never happen

Actually it would Dan/Pinkie Pie or DIscord/Optimus this time. Discord was up against Dan from Dan VS in the finals. I still agree I don't think they'll allow MLP to have both sides of the marathon.
For those unhappy about the vote, I don't know that it would be fair to vote for inferior characters and shows. Who exactly is helped by this? Certainly not anyone enjoying Sunday's MLP mini-marathon.
It's not that other shows on the Hub aren't good. But ponies got their fandom by being far more than "good". The Hub doesn't have to put other shows in competition with it, if they don't want to.
Everyone, give Dan vs. a shot, it is probably one of the funniest shows on television, with the acting pedigree being fairly big (Chris is voiced by one of the founding members of the kids in the hall comedy troupe) . That is all.
There is nothing to feel bad about dudes and dudettes. We watch MLP which is on the HUB, we saw the ad for the contest, we voted and we DOMINATED!

There's nothing to feel bad about. Pony fans are organized, committed, passionate and numerous. For as much effort has been made to marginalize or ridicule the Brony Phenomenon, the fandom only grows that much faster.
Nothing was stopping any fans of any of the other characters in the contest from likewise organizing and mobilizing their votes. Heck, maybe some did. Whatever the reason, no one else prevailed because Discord and Pinkie Pie got the most votes.
The outcome of this vote is nothing for Pony fans to feel bad about, regret or apologize for.
Friendship is Magic is popular not because we're doing something wrong, but because the people who make the show are doing something right.
We are fully entitled to celebrate that fact.

@Soeroah Someone went to the trouble to post that, but until now, I never saw it and never cheated. Just pumping in the ten allowed votes per round was plenty enough for me, and I seriously doubt the vast majority of us (as in > 99.99%) did any sort of cheating.

We didn't cheat, we followed the rules and voted for our favorite characters. It's not our fault that pretty much everybody on there (cept Dan vs. and Batman characters) was weak competition.

I voted for Megatron in the first wave against the GI-Joe Girl, but when the GI-Joe Girl beat Megatron (I think GI-Joe fans trolled the vote). I voted Discord all the way, but if it was a match-up between Megatron vs Discord my vote would have been Megatron. Also I didn't notice too much activity from any TF website for this vote, so I guess most of the TF fans didn't know, or are happy with 3 confirmed seasons and a DVD/BR of TFPrime season 1 this Spring.
Also Pony was a shoe-in for Nicest.
Wait, I wonder if Hasbro will consider bringing Discord back for more episodes, or... even a Discord Toy?

I think HUB really just wanted an excuse to do an MLP marathon, but this gave them a way to do it while appearing impartial.

i do think mikel is right on this one. but in all honesty the best show prevailed. it was a poll, and we voted. if transformers had a fan base as determined as we are, they woulda won. if this comes true, and they make it optimus/discord or pinkie pie/megatron, i as a brony will lose all hope in the hub and only watch when MLP is premiered in the morning

Dragonball Z Kai airs for almost 4 hours every day on Nicktoons, Cartoon Network plays the hell out of Johnny Test....Nick plays Spongebob till the viewers die of it.. i kinda hope the hub plays MLP at least for an hour in the evenings when I CAN WATCH IT!!

I didn't vote in the last Naughty round since I thought that Dan deserved it since he is the ultimate naughty person and Discord kinda did too being the God of Chaos. I still voted Pinkie over Optimus though. :P I would have to say Pinkie and Dan would make for a hilariously epic crossover.

I feel kinda bad that this happened. I mean, the brony community brought its superior organization and communications abilities to bear on this little stunt, making the MLP victory inevitable. But how many bronies even get the HUB? I sure don't. How many that do watch anything but MLP? I don't know. But the remainder of the demographic that actually does watch everything didn't get their voice properly represented. So what is this win supposed to mean anyway? That bronies like MLP? Big woop.
Well, I didn't vote. Maybe next year we can have a 99%?

I don't know if the millions of people that visit this site actually have the Hub or live in America, but this contest was one sided with the huge FiM fanbase voting for Discord and Pinkie Pie.
I don't even know if there is even a websote like Equestria Daily for the other shows.

Millions? I think there at most a few thousand unique visitors. Millions of people would generate billions and billions of hits pretty quickly. According to Alexa.com, though, EQD is a top 10,000 website in the US, and is strangely extremely popular in Bergen, Norway. Who doesn't like a little lutefisk with their ponies, anyway?

Hey! We didn't cheat! "Let the rest of the world vote"? We, after all, are just FANS of MLP:FiM, another of the many shows on the Hub. The differece is that we are a *little* more... well... "dedicated" than the overall fans of most shows.

I voted for Pinkie and Discord every round, and I don't regret it. But yes, I do think that MLP should get a separate competition next year. That would be a lot less predictable and a lot more fun.
And no, I don't think we cheated. Sure, there were some who used Incognito, but we got cheated against in the first round and nearly lost Pinkie to Chris, so I think when all's said and done, we played as clean as, if not cleaner than, the opposition.
