Music: Always Be Lyra / The Cutie Mark

Lyra and Bonbon music?! We don't get nearly enough of that!  It's a good one too!

And a new Cutie Mark Crusaders remix, because that song needs more love.

1.) Always Be Lyra
2.) The Cutie Mark (daks 'Cutie Mark Crusaders Theme' Remix)

#1 sounds really... Irish. It's a good song, I just can't help but think how Irish it sounds.

#2 was awesome and now I finally have another remix of that song!

Please don't stop Bombe, for me? Ignore all those other people, they just hating. Do what you love. Do what you're good at. Why, I bet if you had a cutie mark it would be your comment first on a post! Would you deny your cutie mark?

I agree with Lightning Delight, very good song, but sounds very Celtic. (i'm a large percentage celtic, so I like this!)

Like I said before, number two is amazing!!

The first one's not really my style but I can tell it's well done.

I like the second one quite a bit. Maybe I haven't been listening in the right places but it feels like a style of techno I haven't heard in a while. (I don't mind dubstep, but it's refreshing to not have the ever-present wobble in a song for once...)

Now Bon Bon is Irish, Well she has had three other voices at least so I can see it.

#2 is going right to my pony playlist

DXLelouch said...

Scootaloo is a RD fangirl so Rainbow Dash is still best pony

Shutterfly said...

oh god, the first song... a ponification of one of my favorite songs by my favorite artist... my life is now complete. Will be racking up playcounts on this in the dozens pretty quickly

Kisuke said...

Number one really sounds like Elton John! Amazing voice

Second one was ok imo. Had some really good parts, but just didn't get me into it.

Ashton said...

Is #1 based off a Billy Joel song? It sounds so familiar...

#2: good, but my favorite is probably the Power Metal version... *doesn't really care for instrumentals*

#1 Some of the lyrics in this one certainly sound slightly... interesting. Lyra roleplays in bed. lol <3 It's a pretty good song. I agree, the guy singing does sound Irish. Which makes me like it even more.

#2 I really enjoyed this mix. It has a good fluid beat.

Guys, Twilight is winning in the polls.

Jelfes said...

@Whitbane I know, it's blasphemy! Scootaloo is obviously best pony to be with on a stormy day/night!

Na, Pinkie is best thunderstorm pony.

#1 was good. Love me some irishman songs.

#2 was good, too. Nice beat, used it to its advantage very well.

Lyras named Lyra are the best Lyras.

@Ashton

(Cripes I feel old): #1 is based off Billy Joel's 1977 "Always A Woman"

Lack of joel fans in this fandom saddens me :( I heard this song and was like "can it be, a Joel pony cover? IMPOSSBRU! and it was and I saw it was good. Then I rested and listened to it a dozen times in a row.

AJTheEngineer said...

Wow guys, you seriously didn't pick up on the Billy Joel parody? For shame!

Shutterfly said...

@AJTheEngineer at first I was all excited to see a bunch of joel related comments on EQD cause he's one of my all time favorite artists... then it didnt happen and i was sad :c Then I listened to the song again and didn't care

Stray said...

@AJTheEngineer
I know, right? So obviously an 'She's Always a Woman' parody.

ajfsrd22 said...

I haven't even listened to nearly as much Joel as I should have in my life, but I picked up on the similarities instantly. Then again, pretty much every one of the few songs I HAVE listened to of his I love, so that probably influences my ability to detect his style. Either way, wonderful piece! The guy has a great voice!

The second tune's also quite fun; I love me some electronic, and this delivers! :D

@Tora another old-timer here that figured it out! :)

play freebird said...

The first one: I was thinking "this sounds like and is about as good as Elton John." Then I realized that it was a ponified Elton John song.

Forderz said...

Some people didn't know the first one was a B.Joel parody?

dustykat said...

@Shutterfly, @Dexam
