This one will work the exact same way as the Halloween one. Each day, a new festive banner will be tossed up, (Starting whenever we get enough entries to start cycling). If we receive a large amount of them, we will periodically drop 25 at a time compilation style.
The Rules:
- It needs to be somewhere around 1000x350 in dimensions. (Preferably exact)
- It needs to involve some sort of December holiday (Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/ect.)
- It needs to be a transparent .png file (Though a full banner is fine too sometimes, examples after the break!)
- It needs to have "Equestria": something.
- The banner above should give a good example of all of this
- Same EQD rules: No Gore, No Porn (Crucifixion and festive orgies included!)
When you have everything artified and ready to go (I can make up new words, go away), toss an email to Submit@equestriadaily.com with BANNER in the subject line.
Include a Source Link (Deviant Art/Tumblr/Whatever you want) and an attachment of your .png banner.
Deadlines and Other Information:
The deadline will be December 23rd at 11:59 PM PST. We will chose 20 of the top banners and hold a poll. The winner will be the official Holiday banner of 2011, and last until New Years!
For everyone that already sent a banner, you have been added to the event queue!

Speaking of banners, what's up with the current "It's time to pony up" banner? They're not just staring at me, they're like, asking me to relinquish my manhood! It's creepy! I like being human... kinda.

I love Dashie, but given how associated she already is with torture, and considering the graphic art people in this community tend to produce, I could totally picture something that absurd springing up.

I don't see a reason to follow the rules here seeing as how Sethisto didn't take into account the WeLoveFine submission rules when he chose that shirt design.
Not only was that shirt bigger than the art 15x19 limit, it also is outside the binding box!
So I want Seth to give me one good reason any of us should follow his guidelines.

I got an idea, Pinkie Pie should be ice skating the word Equestria Daily and the others in the back ground like spike with a christmas present and blah blah blah....but I can't do that, I suck at art! :(
I'd love for Seth to put together a post showing all of EQD previous banners. Cause a lot of us folks got late to the ponies we haven't had a chance to see them all.
I'd be really curious to see them evolve over time.

Rainbow Dash is the SON OF GOD! She can do shit like REVIVE THE DEAD! Rainbow Dash didn't HAVE to be tortured and killed, but she just decided to be Cupcake'd for our sins. Then she just woke back up a few days later. She's just awesome like that.

Nono. Of course, I keep making that joke because I love it so much.
My Cupcake-head canon is that Rainbow Dash let Pinkie kill her because Pinkie might kinda feel bad, so she's just pretending to die. She's never truly dead so it works for her.
Few days later, Pinkie sees Dash flying around all chill and okay as if nothing happened. So Pinkie just keeps on taking Rainbow Dash into her basement all the time and dismembering her, only to find her alive a few days later and it just keeps happening until Rainbow Dash kinda gets bored of it and drops the act and just stops.
I love grimdark but comedy is just as awesome.

I was just wondering...Could it be hand drawn? When it's uploaded, it will be 1000x350 pixels, of course, but I was just wondering. :)
Yeah, I suck at the computer banners, well, and at drawing ponies, but by hand turns out WAAAAAAY better. I'll probably enter, but I don't expect it to get far. I haven't even thought of an idea yet...I want to make sure it's OK first. :)
I love My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. Whoever made these banners did pretty good. But it's better than if I made one.
