Right up until he sang "Somepony," I honestly thought that that was just the soundtrack from the movie itself. Oh my wocks and hoop soons, this fandom is TALENTED.
...Now, are there any plans to do a ponified version of the second part of this song? The...dark part? With the chanting? And the flames? And the guilt and the mental collapse and the hallucinations and the cursing to perdition? Oh please oh please oh please let that happen.

Awww, that got me crying. Probably because lately I feel like I can relate to Discord in the beginning of that. It's a really sweet and endearing animation. And the song complimented it well. I really like it. I'm wanting to see more. :)

anyways, WOW THIS IS AWESOME!!! 1) I LOVE hunchback. if i wasn't a bass i'd totally do a fandub of quasi. 2) I thought it was the soundtrack until the "Everypony". This is very, very, VERY impressive.
If any one group can collect ALL the talent on the internet, it's gonna be us bronies.
That was amazing in every facet of its creation. The singer is extremely talented enough to make me think I'm listening to an actual voice actor from a Disney movie, and the animation was smooth enough, even in its rough form, that it just made everything that much better.

I don't like things that try and make Discord sympathetic.
I LIKE Discord for being pretty much entirely unsympathetic and evil I don't know why people feel the need to make him less evil or whatever.

@Mojo Well a completely unsympathetic villain without any sort of reliability is a bad villain, even a bad character in general. Nobody is just BORN evil, it's much more creative and interesting to understand the motivations of a villainous character.
Giving Discord a tragic sort of backstory doesn't make him less evil, it only makes him less shallow.
Of corse there are limits. You still gotta keep 'em intimidating and ruthless in their present state, and flip-flopping a villain back to good is always a terrible idea.
This is going to be turned into a full on flash animation? OOO I do want it! Because it was beautiful!
I loved the Hunchback of Notre Dam by Disney, even if it was VERY lightly based on the book. I guess you're saving the dark part of that song for when Discord goes insane right?

Discord is supposed to be the pure embodiment of chaos, a force of nature he does not need to be sympathetic nor does he need a tragic backstory, he exist to be what he is his motivation was to make the world what he was.

When the singer said "somepony," I had to rewind the video a bit to make sure I wasn't hearing things. I'm comparing it to the original now and they're uncannily close! Andrew Stein has got some serious vocal talent!
The animation is also really cute and moving. I can't wait to see the final product!
That said, Young Celestia/Discord shipping always makes me sad, because we know they're going to end up as mortal enemies. But that just adds to the emotion of this video. Instant classic.

It's no more or less valid than any other interpretation of him.
You're allowed to prefer him differently, but don't claim that he's "supposed" to be a different way. Playing "My Fanon is better than your Fanon" is never a good idea.

The thing will Hellfire, Id love too see it, but wed need alot of context. I could see Discord being incharge and capturing Celestia. There could be an order and mythology to it all.
Theres also the issue with words like Raven Hair, Gypsy, and Man. They could be simply replaced, by the voice actor. They just need to make it well done.
Again explation into the rule of Discord would be cool, and the transtion from nice Discord to what he has become.
