This is going to be epic for all the pony history people out there. I guess Equestria actually did have some conflict between the different races.

In some odd way our six heroins end fighting about which side was better(Rainbow Dash of course) then Celestia and Luna get involved or not, song will be awsome, ending will have them apologizing for fighting only to have the crowd cheer because they thought it was part of the show.
Moral: Those that don't know history, ate doomed to repeat it.

How are they in power? Most of the Canterlot ponies were unicorns (Canterlot being the seat of power).
Cloudsdale, the Pegasus capital, controls all the weather. Non-unicorns or pegesi can't even go there.
Clearly, earth ponies are the majority in Equestria outside of these areas. Most of Ponyville is made up of earth ponies as well as Manehatten and Applossa. However, do these ponies have any say in government? No, says I! They are dependent on unicorns for manufactured goods and pegasi for weather for which to cultivate their crops! They are being held in check, like sheep, by the system and government propaganda (so-called "friendship")!
Hmm... will this end up making "Twilight Sparkle, Teacher For A Day" more solid in canon?

Then again, lately some of my predictions regarding MLP have come true (superhero episode, before I knew much about Mare Do Well, predicted airships in MLP on Friday, before the new episode with an airship in it), and it's kindof scaring me.
I am always impressed by how the show teaches its viewers morals without being too preachy.

I predict this episode will answer all our questions, and raise so many more. I wonder when we will get the episode Celestia's VA mentioned that would talk about the EoH and how Luna and Celestia obtained them.
Earth Ponies have magic that allows them to use their forehooves and tail as prehensile limbs. Really, CardsLafter explained it perfectly in Eyes of Another Pony.
This is going to be very interesting indeed. I can also foresee some rage over some fanon being ruined. But that happens often enough to where it's hardly anything new anyway. lol I'm very interested in this episode and seeing how all the races set aside differences to setup the foundation of Equestria. It's like Equestria's Founding Fath... err, Ponies.

Actually, heroin is a sedative, so it only explains Pinkie if her natural state is living in the Speed Force. Really, cocaine or even meth aren't enough to explain the elemental force that is Pinkie Pie

Earth Ponies are low on the pyramid, but they're hardly at the bottom; hasn't it been shown that Earth Ponies have themselves enslaved other sentient species like the mules, cows, and most recently the literal sheep? Not to mention their unwanted encroachment onto buffalo tribal territory? Zebra civilization is possibly too advanced or too geographically foreign to have run ins with, but it seems any four-legged, hoofed being in Equestria falls into some sort of hierarchy of dominance.

For those curious about the app, the story goes like this:
"Long, long ago the Pegasus ponies, Earth ponies and Unicorn ponies did not live in harmony."
"Their hearts were as cold as the mysterious blizzard that overtook the land."
"Each group of ponies decided to find a new place to live. By accident, they all arrived at the same place. The blizzard arrived there too."
"They learned that there was one way to end the storm. It was to treat each other warmly. That's how Equestria was born!"
"The unicorns used their magic to build the city of Canterlot."
"Once the city was finished, they invited all the Earth and Pegasus ponies to a party!"
"This party was so much fun that it became a tradition to hold every year."
"The party is now known as the Grand Galloping Gala. It's the biggest social event of the year! Everyone hopes to be invited."

So unicorns effectively have the best qualities of the other two races combined.

I really hope they deal with this episode well, like how they did with "Over a Barrel". What I imagine to see is that the production of the play reopens old wounds between the different races and they begin debating over whose race was, say, the one in the right in the past, or who has been the most privileged or most wronged. Here's how I imagine how they saw themselves and the other race:
The Earth Ponies - they saw themselves as a hard done by race who do all the hardwork as a proletariat yet treated as inferior by the other races, who see them as uninteligent, money oriented and politically volatile. Their direct conflict is with the Unicorns.
The Unicorns - they saw themselves as the most inteligent and superior race of pony due to their mastering of magic. They see thesmelves as the natural leaders and find the other two races as inferior and troublesome. The other races see them as domineering, pompous and egotistical. Their direct conflict is with the Earth ponies.
The Pegasi - whilst the other races have more conflict, the Pegasi keep to themselves more. They see themselves as the "cool" and relaxed species, keeping out of the affairs of the other races, unless it benefits them. The other races see them as completely duplicious and self-serving (the later certainly true to an extent), siding with whoever makes them the best offer.
Of course, things start off okay, but the debate gets heated and they start arguing all over again, displaying the traits as mentioned above. Chaos ensues and naturally, Celestia and Luna (I'd love to see these two working off each other) come and set them straight.
But that's just my view. Take it for what it's worth
I will be really happy if there is Tiny Tim Pipsqueak, and he says "Celestia bless us, everypony!"
That would totally make my day. Also it would make the episode awesome. Also, Luna. I really hope Luna is in the episode.

I've seen Twilight telekinetically grab & move Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, but I have never seen any unicorn do anything magical to any Earth Pony, unless it was a VERY simple and rather beneficial spell such as artificial cloud-walking.
For this, I have the reason to believe that Earth Ponies are very resistant to magic.
