I pre-ordered it on Amazon, so I should have it by one on the release day. I'm not too over-hyped about it; some of their bragged features sound a bit dubious to me as to how well it could be pulled off. Like how they bragged about the conversation features in Oblivion that hardly anyone used.
Dynamically generated missions sound great, until you realize that that sort of crap generally results in simple and repetitive content that choose between the number/type of monsters you kill, a handful of NPC personality types, and two or three tones of voice if you're lucky.. unless they really did find an awesome way to get that feature running, chances are it'll feel same-y before you finish your first playthrough.
But will it be fun? Oh hell yes; by now that's a foregone conclusion with Elder Scrolls, especially when I heard how the new game system works. Fallout style Perks, Deus Ex (first one) style skill/class specialization, and Bioshock 2 style dual-wielding powers and weapons. That sounds like an awesome combination, especially when framed with the usual fantasy powers and open world of Elder Scrolls.
For now I will put it on my wishlist, but when I get the money and when I do, I shall strike a deal for SKYRIM!

Just an FYI, if it crashes on you before even getting to the main menu it's a sound card thing. Switch your audio settings to in the Sound Control Panel to 16 bit, 44kHz and it will work just fine (I had my sound at 24 bit, 192kHz).
Now i'm expecting a few days of skyrim stuff only to be interupted by pinkie sitting at a desk in the middle of the eveverfree forrest calmly announcing "and now for something completely different!"
Been playing skyrim until I came to the first standing stones. When you accept one of the signs (e.g. the mage), you learn the skills in that area 20% faster. Coincidence? I think not!
Seriously, way to go and kill a few buzzes, bronies...it's just a game, not like you need to dissect those who play/enjoy it for your own amusement.
Also, it may be a Pony Blog, but it's Sethisto's pony blog - he'll clearly run whatever the hell he damn pleases...why do so many of you get pissy over that?
Grow a little backbone and learn to tolerate if something doesn't 'appease' your needs, geez!

I'm neither for or against Skyrim, it may be a great game or a terrible one, to each their own right? I just don't see why its banner worthy on a Pony blog and I think others agree. Part of a Drawfiend dump? Absolutely! Header image for a post? Sure! Banner? Meh.
On the other hand, its really not that big a deal so I'm not gonna spend anymore time on the issue :)
