Looks interesting, big fan of the Total War games so might try this.
Twilight Hawke almost makes me want to read this. Total War is not so different from Dragon Age 2, right? (jk, don't answer that)
The anthro Twilight just kills it for me.
And why would it be a Napoleonic war? Equestria is clearly at least modern tech; they have hazmat suits with a nuclear symbol on them! Any major war could just be settled by the princesses, they have nearly unlimited power! Plus, weather control is basically being able to manufacture WMDs at will!
This whole thing is just kind of a big stretch.
I would totally pay anything for a ponified version of Total War set in the Medieval line, with a string of alicorns for the kings and queens, which would explain the game's age discrepancy(seriously, your kings literally live out the game's chronology until killed, no matter how many decades it takes). I nominate Celestia for the French.

Dragon Age is an RPG. Total War is a strategy game that is part Europa Universalis and part Warcraft III. In the first stage, you build your kingdom and deal with diplomacy and religion and build your armies. When armies collide, it moves to the second stage, which is battle. It revolutionized the strategy genre where instead of micro-managing troops, you instead control formations.

War-in-Equestria fics: Slightly below grimdark in ridiculousness.
Total War was a pretty awesome serious. But the actual battles (when you choose to command them) were very lame. It IS one of the only RTSs that has a significant strategy component to it; most RTSs are more tactics than strategy.
Eh doesn't seem to be my thing. To broad a scope. I prefer more personal adventure stories.

The story does not involve an anthro Twilight. It starts with Equestria as seen in the show, and then Gilda is a jerk and starts a war between ponies and griffons. Well, she claims credit for it anyway.
I didn't actually get to the part with any fighting because fimfiction went down again or SOMETHING, but it was really good as far as I read. n.n
Yay its finally on EQdaily! I love this story so far. Can't wait for future updates.

Well I started following sense chapter 1. Then it would update way quick. Like every few days. It's sense slowed down but it still updates fairly quickly.
I may not want to read the story but that picture mph it is awesome <3
Just finsihed reading chapter 26. This fic reminds me of an Avatar fanfic called Semper Victoria, neither side was glamourized and some canon characters were shown to be less heroic than the film made them out to be. Equestria: Total War is a lot like that, the Mane Six are shown to be, well, human, each ends up being changed by the nature of war in ways they can't understand, betrays their element in a way they would nver have expected, then regain what they thought they'd lost on some level
War's like that, it changes people beyond measure, makes some wannabe saints into the foulest of sinners and makes some of the most unlikely heroes shine brighter than Celestia's sun. You've captured that very, very well in this fanfic, well done, I'm looking forward to the next update
