The Archive has a pretty good sorting tool - select the Shipping tag with the two ponies you want and you'll get just about everything. Unfortunately it won't just be the two, it'll be the two and any others that those two are in (like the giant ship-everypony series).

Anyway. I got: >10,000 word short story, romantic shipfic; Pinkie Pie and Celestia in Ponyville.. which I had to write while drunk. I just kinda sat on my laurels since as is, due to insomnia (that I'm going to seek medication for now that it's keeping me from schoolwork,) and schoolwork I'm already not doing I basically just never got around to it... that and getting drunk is kinda difficult for me to do...
I'll have to find a different crack pairing for Celestia to put off until the semester ends and I have sleeping pills or something. Or just roll again... or just run with it since it's not like it's a contest to do something that hasn't been done before...

Not sure if there's really that much M/M. It might seem it because whenever it pops up a big deal is made. But looking at Big Mac and Spike, there's a fair amount of M/F
However the fact of the matter remains; most of the main characters, and the overwhelming majority of the cast are female. Meaning the developed characters that most people are going to like the most are of one gender. The dominance of F/F is inevitable given this series. Just gotta deal.
So it is true: Rainbow Dash + X = Success
The most shipped are Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, and Fluttershy. Now, this makes sense, because Dash is the most likely to be a lesbian, Twilight is the mane character, and Fluttershy is the most adorable. But, if you notice, there is a large difference in the ship bridges. With Dash, there are two very large bridges connecting her to Pinkie and AJ, two above average sized ones connecting her to Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy, and then nopony else. But, with Fluttershy and Twilight, they have mostly average bridges connecting them to literally everypony except for Derpy.
Just FYI guys, I made the graph using someone else's information and I know that he did about 95% of the shipfics submitted to EqD (the other 5% weren't obvious who was being shipped from the description, tags, etc.) and I made a few errors in it as well I believe.
Trixie is suppose to be self-shipped 2 times, that's the only error I know of.
Also, there's been growth since the last one, but there's still an unfortunate shortage TwiDash, Applesparkle, TwiMac, and Macindash shipping. Gotta be better than more PinkieDash shipping.
I love Dashie's expression on the chart, though. Poor Rainbow, she just gets shipped with everything.

I do not condone shipping, however the only ship that would even come close to my support is AJ/RD.
AJ and RD are a lot alike in the right ways that would support a lesbian relationship.
Everyone thinks RD is lesbain for traits that AJ happens to share and yet no one ever thinks AJ is lesbian I mean seriously....
Well there's also spike and a picture of rarity. Because that's as close as he's gonna get to her period. On a similar note, Big Mac and that smarty pants doll, but I don't support or condone plushiphila, and in fact I find it disgusting.

I just realized that there are several self-ships out there, of which only one is "On a Cross and Arrow". And that ain't even where the AJ-AJ shipping comes in, neither any of the two TS-TS. Hey, wait a minute. In the FAQ section, I quote, "(regarding the amount/type of fanfic on this site) even if the majority of it is just 'What can we ship Rainbow Dash with'?" Where are the lampshades, trees, vacuum cleaners and other assorted random things for Dash?
Normally Octavia gets shipped with Vinyl, but I did read one fic where Octavia was shipped with Luna. Octavia was a mute, but they managed to live together happily anyway.
Octavia had a dream of writing beautiful music that would touch the world. Since Luna lives pretty much forever, she made that happen. Although Octavia eventually died, her music lived on.
All of her ideas, her dreams, and her courage, lived on in the music school that was created in her honor and in Luna. It really was a touching story.
I don't remember the name unfortunately. I could probably find it if I used the search engine like stated above though.

Then there's Princess Molestia, where Celestia sexually assaults two royal guards, Luna, Big Mac, and the Mane Six.
Obviously, none of those fics are featured on here.

This chart is a testament to the mind numbingly stupid and over spammed shipping that goes on in this community. Nearly all of it is just based on lame stereotype any way and has little to no basis in the characters actual personalities. Quite frankly, I find the volume of it to be somewhat creepy.
Whatever, just another reason why I've decided avoid fanfics in general.

I don't know how you could possibly struggle to find RD/PP shipping on this site. Since I've come here, this site has been the unofficial RD/PP fansite. You could barely get through an episode without the comments going "PINKIE DASH IS NOW CANNON."
What I always found funny is that AppleDash seems to be the most popular ship everywhere else on the web, so the PinkieDash vs. AppleDash battle, as I observed, was Equestria Daily vs. The Internet, respectively. It made me lol.
There was definitely a concentrated rush of RD/PP fics in the middle of season one on this site. Check entries from around that time if you're curious.

Aargh, Rainbow Pie is something that I really just don't get. I can see it being one-sided (Pinkie innocently crushing on Dash, maybe), but I can't really see them as a couple at all. Then again, I can't see Pinkie with ANYONE (maybe because she's so childish?). I do think she looks super cute with Fluttershy, although I still just prefer their friendship.
And I hate seeing Spike shipped with any of the mane 6. For heaven's sake, he's a BABY. I think his in-show crush on Rarity is cute, but legit shipping fics with him are just plain weird.

It doesn't make sense. It doesn't need to. No one with common sense is trying to push these shipping characterizations as any kind of "secret cannon". It's just idle fantasy. As they are portrayed in the show, there is no way any of the mane cast would be more than incredibly good friends.
But most post pubescent fantasy live tends to more often than not drift toward the romantic or sexual. It's just natural. And most of it is at least fun whimsy. Like alternate universe portrayals. It's fun to see familiar characters in odd or unfamiliar roles. Also it's incredibly adorable.

Just so you know, this chart isn't here to show what ships have and have not been done - actually, all of the characters on the chart have probably been shipped with each other at some point. The point of this is to show how common each ship is in comparison to the others, like seeing how Rainbow Dash has the largest amount of lines, but Twilight is connected to the most other ponies. Some day I might make a new chart with information from all fanfiction archives instead of just this one, use all characters, and make the biggest chart ever. If I would happen to have a week free. Or a month.

Yeah shipping is silly. But it's not about the shipping for me, it's about the story. Some of the best written and most compelling stories I have read are or have shipping.
I could say the same for Grimdark, the other side of the coin. It's as ridiculous to put MLP characters in Grimdark situations as it is romantic situations but those are some incredible stories you see with Grimdark content sometimes.
(Of course, from a realistic standpoint, it's far more likely for a shipping scenario to occur in life than a grimdark one. But no one's here for reality, now are they?)

Pinkie Pie is one of the few self-cest fics I can actually see (well aside from Rainbow Dash and Trixie of course, though for reasons entirely different from those two).
