None of the youtube removals have actually come from the Hub or Hasbro; the company has unofficially said that they will never take legal action against people who repost their episodes because from the execs' point of view it's free advertising for their toy line and from the artists' point of view it's getting their work out to more people. It is physically impossible for many of us to watch on the Hub, and without the youtube videos the majority of the fans of the show would never have seen it in the first place, meaning that there would have dramatically fewer toy sales and the company would have far less money. Not to mention the fact that they've started using our fanart, they make special press releases to Equestria Daily, etc. If they disapproved of what we were doing, they certainly wouldn't be helping us do it.
It is entirely possible that Hasbro occasionally makes the YouTube takedown requests. Copyright law is screwy, and one of the screwier parts of it is that you're obligated to defend your copyright or risk losing it. If the other side in a suit can successfully argue that you knowingly allow others to reproduce your material without permission then they can claim they should have the same right, which might limit your ability to stop someone from using your material in a way you deem is harmful or offensive.
So even when companies don't have any objection to the reproduction of their properties, they have to make a show of putting a stop to it now and again so they can always fall back on the evidence that they defend their copyrights.
I don't know that there's any obligation to be completely thorough, so chasing down a few channels every few months while leaving the majority of it untouched may be a way of having their cake and eating it too.
Mare Do Well reminds Darkwing Duck a lot because of the purple clothes and the hat, but the "mysterious, dark and silent attitude" reminded me of Batman as well.
And Rainbow Dash saying the Spiderman's motto...could be a joke from the scriptwriters representing the rivalry between DC and Marvel comics? XD

Did ANYONE else notice the Firefly reference? When Rainbow Dash is strutting around and proclaims "Danger is my middle name!"... because I thought that was pretty awesome.

I'm not going to lie - I thought that Mare-Do-Well was just Twilight and she was using spells for everything.....at the end of the episode I was so shocked I fell off of my chair (a little bit).
I have to admit, i can't say I like the idea of splitting up the discussion on the episode across multiple pages like has been done. It seemed like a good idea at first, but it just means that it's that much more to keep track of, and any trains of thought on the old page eventually get dropped and the new page becomes nothing more than a repeat of everything that was said on the first post.

I'm from Canada, and I cannot get the HUB. It bugs me that MLP is made in Canada, but I cannot see new episodes on TV. No se2 episodes as of yet.
