PMV: This Is War

I never was a fan of the Lunar Republic vs Solar Empire trope, but this PMV is pretty freakin badass. Check it out after the break!

If there was more pony in the world, there would be less wars.

I liked the beginning, but i'm not a fan of the song style past that.

I love this song, and amazing PMV

This is an automatic fav! Love 30STM

I'm a bit turned off by this war trope also, but I am impressed by some of the fan works that stem off of it.

Ogopogo said...

That is a beautifully put together PMV.

S.Aura Knight said...

Funny thing is... I love 30StM, but I first heard this song in the credits to Dragon Age: Origins. And this PMV certainly does the song justice, just as it's use in that game did it.

Rarityfan said...

the PMV's have really improved since the whole "kill your heroes" super fantastic one

Man watching this really makes me want to play Dragon age again.

Awesome, loved it!

That was intense, I mean wow, great song, applied to MLP it actually fit really well. (as far as being set in Soviet Equestria goes)

I think this is defiantly one of the better/best PMV I have seen this month.

Ponies don't war. They just rally for peace!

Lunar Republic Vs Solar Empire doesn't exist! Everypony holds hooves, ya dig!? >:3

Luna and Celestia go for brohoof!

I agree more pony equals less war. This of course does not apply to princess trollestia (she just loves being a tyrant). Poor luna, always being pushed around. I think the twilight republic is a good comprimise. (sad day for puns)

A Bard said...

On an unrelated note, Welovefine seems to have added some more shirts (including a Daft Punk parody one).

Pmv was awsome! Yay! *heavy metal screech* horray for the magic conch!

Very cool... I love a good PMV.

Lazerboy5000 said...

I love the images and vectors used. Simply brilliant!!! I thought the lyrics art could have used more pony reinforcement, otherwise it's quite dry. Only compliant about an utterly fantastic video!

Pretty good PMV. Then again, like ponified lyrics in pony tunes, I'm a sucker for well-placed effects in pony PMV's. lol

I wasn't really into the whole Solar Empire Vs Lunar Republic at first myself. But I've warmed up to it more. Maybe because I sometimes enjoy a little conflict. lol Though if Octavia had to pick a side, and though she plays at some of Celestia's major events, she would have to side with the Lunar Republic. Because Luna. <3

Awesome PMV, You sir are very talented indeed.

Loved every second of it. Need more quality stuff like this! :)

I love the war trope. I'm a sucker for the propaganda posters.

The PMV really didn't make sense. It sounded and looked nice, but it seemed like the creator didn't know what they were shooting for.

ToonNinja said...

...Okay, I don't know how much longer I can wait. I want a PMV for "Take Me Away" by Globus, and I want it ASAP.

Jimperz said...

This seems more of a pro Equestrian unity PMV (which I approve of), rather then a Lunar Republic vs Solar Empire thing (which is something I don't care for either).

Awesome one nonetheless!

YES! WISH FULFILLED! THE FUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!! other random celebratory quotes... This is one of my fav songs and the editing on this matched perfects. Man I love it went things I like come together... such a great day!

The colors looked... Different... In the beginning. But other then that. Good PMV.

Just wow, that was awesome. Easily favourited.

I'm not into the Lunar republic/Celestial Monarchy thing either (mostly because I don't really subscribe to the fanon at all) but good pmv, great editing, and 30 Seconds to Mars, one of my favorite bands. This was great. Well done.

I absolutely loved this!
And it cones at an interesting time... Same day as Not A Clever Pony's announcement.

I started as aLunar Republican (mostly because the first brony music I heard was For The New Lubar Republic) but I have since decided that unitedEquestria is best Equestria.

I don't mind the war genre, so long as it isn't civil war in Equestria.

A good use for one of my favorite songs!

8/10 (Skilled - Favorite/Download)

Marvelous. I'd rate it a 9/10. The song could've been just a little better and towards the end I felt you cheated a bit with using only text.

FOR THE SOLAR EMPIRE!

LOVE LIVE GREAT PRINCESS CELESTIA!

IN SUN WE TRUST!

Wow, I really loved this. It pulled me in, held my attention, and was inspiring. Freaking cool. :)

This song always makes me tear up because of DA:O. EVEN BETTER WITH PONIES

Tonboko said...

Not a big fan of all the text in the once spot, but otherwise totally AWESOME!!

TDR said...

Holy crap . Its like some one opened the flood gates and all the bad arsed PMV busted out. This is another one in a line of really good ones thats come out lately.

20PercentRainbow said...

Not avaiable in germany. :/

Bligh said...

Oh this is going to be one of those silly "The mane cast splits up and fights each other and Luna is the good guy" thing isn't it...
*watches video*
Nevermind, it's awesome.

Saved. So. Hard. I loved where it went into kinetic typography.

In my research, the end of one war is almost certainly the cause of another. Exceptions are revolutions and civil wars, which are often small-scale.

Cloudynights said...

Well this was 30 Seconds from Mars so I already loved the music, the quality of PMV's coming out at the moment is great. But a united Equestria is best Equestria.

Treebohr said...

I used to be a part of The Lunar Republic, but recently I've become part of the Equestrian Oligarchy.

Glover said...

Holy crap that was fantastic

PhineasPhish said...

You know what would be a good song for a Lunar Republic/Solar Empire PMV?

OK time for plan B by Enter Shikari.

Especially since Twilight has used that phrase like 3 times already in season 2.

JaxsonJaguar said...

Why can't we have more PMV's like this instead of the copious amount of remixes and those videos where people make a whole song out of sounds the characters make?

Also we need a pony version of amv.org

otakon17 said...

@S.Aura Knight

You heard this in the credits of Dragon Age: Origins? Wow, I love that game and do not remember this pretty amazing piece of music from it. I've beaten multiple times too, I swear I've never heard this song before now.
OT: Good editing, good song even if the theme is completely opposite of the source material. Really good stuff here.

Yelliaes said...

Damn, the power of that song with those ponies is something that makes this a must see for all Bronies

Arothyss said...

s'oose 'ee, 'an't 'alk, on econ'...

There, sorry, had to pick my jaw off the floor and put it back in my mouth.

That was amazing. I take it that the Solar Empire won then? Heck, I don't care, it was just stupendously done. Must've taken forever to create.

Mad props to the author.

Also, I agree with JaxsonJaguar, we need more story-type pmvs like this. Make it happens ppls!

Meltoria said...

Very well made PMV and this song is just epic, and I knew it was good ever since I first heard it on the Dragon Age trailer.

I was browsing through the music posts to have some sweet brony music to hear while I'm working, but not really watching the vids.

I listened to this music, it was nice. Curiosity drove me to watch the vid that came with it. Instant wave of chills thoughout my body, and I kept watching 'till the end. This here is some awesome PMV work.
